1.0  ABSTACT

A single space character handling after a "soundslike" string in Japanese Text to Speech 
was incorrect which affected a numeric character processing and compatibility issue on pause 
between words with a "soundslike" string.
 
  

2.0  PREREQUISITES
 
To install this PTF, you must have WebSphere Voice Server 4.2.0.3 (WVS 4.2 PTF3) installed.
  
  
3.0  INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
 
   1.  On each server, log on as a member of the group 'vvt', 
       then shut down all IBM WebSphere Voice Server components by 
       using the 'pm exit' command. If this is a TTS server with 
       at least one concatenative voice installed, also execute 
       'cmmcmd shutdown' to unload the voice(s).

   2.  Log on to AIX as 'root'.

   3.  Type 'smit' and press Enter.

   4.  Select 'Software Installation and Maintenance' and press Enter.

   5.  Select 'Install and Update Software' and press Enter.

   6.  Select 'Update Software by Fix (APAR) and press Enter.

   7.  For 'Input device / directory for software' enter location of Fix and press Enter.

   8.  For 'Fixes to install' press F4 to list available fixes. Select IY84141 and press Enter.

   9.  A panel is then displayed where additional install options may
       be specified.

       The remainder of the options can be left as the default values.
       However, it is recommended that the "COMMIT software updates?" 
       option be set to "NO", since it is not possible to remove 
       the update once it has been committed. You can commit the 
       update at a later date, if you wish, once you are satisfied 
       with it. If you do decide to set this field to "NO", then 
       it will be necessary to set "SAVE replaced files?" to "YES".

       Note: Some of the options may need to be altered if there is not
             enough free disk space available for the install. See your
             AIX Installation Guide for more details.


  11. After installing IY84141, you may log off as user 'root',
      log on as a user member of group 'vvt' and start WVS.
