Interim Fix 002 for Portal Toolkit v5.0.2.2
Offline installation instructions
This document describes how to install Interim Fix 002 for Portal Toolkit v5.0.2.2 from a downloaded copy of ptk_interim_fix002.zip,
available from IBM
Software Support. Installation is performed using the Update Manager capability
included in the product.
Important: There are known issues that can cause problems during or
after applying the fix. To ensure a proper installation:
- Follow the instructions below carefully.
- If you have disabled any plug-ins either through Update Manager or by
modifying plugin.xml files, re-enable them prior to installing the fix.
- Log on to your system with a user ID that has write permission to the
installation location and start WebSphere Studio
Application Developer v5.1.2.
- Open the Install/Update perspective, click Help > Software
Updates > Update Manager.
- In the Feature Updates view, expand the My Computer section to open the
directory where you unzipped ptk_interim_fix002.zip.
- Select ptk_interim_fix002/update/WebSphere Studio Portal Toolkit 5.0.2.2 Fixes then double-click
Interim Fix 002 for Portal Toolkit v5.0.2.2:

- Details about the fix are shown in the Preview view. Add this fix to the
selected updates by clicking the Install by adding to the Selected
Updates checkbox:

- In the Preview view, click Selected Updates. The Selected Updates view
shows the selected fixes. Right-click the Selected Updates view and select Process All:

- The Install wizard opens. Click Next.

- Once you have read and accepted the license agreement, click Next.
- The Optional Features page opens. Click Next to continue.
Important: Do not modify the selections. Changing the default choices may result in errors.
- On the final screen of the Install wizard, do not change the
default installation location. Click Finish to begin the installation.
- If you are warned that you are about to install an unsigned feature, click Install to continue.
- When the installation is complete you will be asked whether you want to
restart WebSphere Studio. Click Yes to complete the installation. (This action will
not reboot your machine.)
- To confirm that the installation was successful, expand the Install Configuration
and verify that Interim Fix 002 for Portal Toolkit v5.0.2.2 is now installed, as shown below:

Note: The warning on "Portal Toolkit 5.1.2" is generated for your information and will not affect any of the Portal Toolkit functionality.
- Your installation is now complete. It is safe to delete ptk_interim_fix002.zip
and its unzipped contents.
