1.0 Overview

This document describes how to install a downloaded version of IBM® Information Server Plug-In for WebSphere® Integration Developer - Optional Feature Version 6.0.2.

2.0 Installation prerequisites

Before you can install this feature you must have installed WebSphere Integration Developer 6.0.2.

If you disabled any product features by modifying the feature.xml files or through the Update Manager by clicking Help > Software Updates > Manage Configuration, you must enable them before you install this optional feature.

3.0 Installing the optional feature

Install the optional feature with the same user account that installed the product.

Restrictions:

To install the optional feature, complete the following steps:

  1. Start Rational Product Updater:

  2. Note: On Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0 and SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9.0, if you use a desktop environment other than the default, the product shortcuts might not appear in the default location.

  3. Click Preferences > Update Sites.

  4. Navigate to temp_dir\policy.xml, where temp_dir is the location of the extracted optional feature.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Click Find Optional Features.

  7. If your computer does not have Internet access, or cannot connect to the live IBM update server, a warning appears in Rational Product Updater that states that other update sites are not available. You can ignore this warning if you installed IBM Rational Product Updater 6.0.1.

If your computer has Internet access and can connect to the live IBM update server, and if Rational Product Updater requires an update, you are prompted to install it before you can continue. Click OK. Rational Product Updater installs the update, restarts, and retrieves a list of available optional features.

  8. Select IBM Information Service Activity.

  9. Click Install Features.

  10. To accept the license agreement and continue the installation, click OK.

  11. Depending on the speed of your computer processor and the amount of RAM in your computer, the feature might take an extended period of time to install.

After the installation is complete, Rational Product Updater lists the installed features on the Installed Products page.

  12. Restore the Update Sites preferences to the default again, so that the product updater can find future updates. From the menu, select Preferences > Update Sites. Click Restore Default.

  13. Close Rational Product Updater.

4.0 Installing product updates from a command line

You can install optional features from a command line so that you do not have to monitor or input information during the installation.

For more information about installing optional features from a command line, see Running Rational Product Updater from a command line in the product updater help.

5.0 Uninstalling the optional feature

Uninstall the optional feature with the same user account that installed the product.

Restrictions:

To uninstall the optional feature, complete the following steps:
