Update Sites, you must restore the default settings before you can install
the refresh pack.
Also, if you disabled any product features through the Update Manager by
clicking Help > Software Updates > Manage Configuration, or by
modifying feature.xml files, you must re-enable them before you

5.0 Silent update
A silent update provides minimal messages during the update and reduces your
interaction time to perform the update. A silent update is helpful for large
updates.
To perform a silent update of WID 6.0 to WID 6.0.1, follow these steps:
- Download the zip file from the update site and extract it to a local
temporary directory (i.e. C:\widupdate_temp).
- Create a directory "update" in your WID installation directory.
- Create a file responsefile.wid601.update.txt in the "update" directory
(i.e. <wid_install_dir>\update
- Open the responsefile.wid601.update.txt file with a text editor and you may
optionally enter the following parameters:
- -P installLocation="<install_dir>" - The location where you want to temporarily
extract the installation files
- -W profile_selection_panel.wps=true - Set to "true" if you wish to create a
WebSphere Process Server profile, set to
"false" otherwise
- -W profile_selection_panel.esb=true - Set to "true" if you wish to create a
WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus profile, set to "false" otherwise.
Note: You MUST create at least one profile, that is, one of the above profile
parameters must be set to "true". The WPS
profile is set to "true" by default.
Windows
- Go to <wid_install_dir>\updater\eclipse
- Execute: jre\bin\java.exe
-cp startup.jar org.eclipse.core.launcher.Main
-policyFile <widupdate_temp_dir>\policy_601_refreshpack.xml
