WebSphere Test Environment (WTE) upgrade issues and solutions in WSAD v5.1.1


All WebSphere Test Environment(WTE) installs are optional in WSAD v5.1.1 and are selectable when installing WSAD.



This document describes known issues with WTE upgrades and the solution to the issues.

WTE v4 (4.0.7)

There are no known issues.
Please follow the normal steps and instructions while upgrading.



WTE v5.0 (5.0.2)

Known Issues:


Known Issue:

The WebSphere Update Installer disappears when applying Cumulative fixes.

Solution:

  1. Download the PrePatcher.jar to a temporary directory
  2. Open a Command prompt window
  3. Execute the following command:

For Windows:
"<WSAD_Install_directory>\runtimes\base_v5\java\jre\bin\java" -jar PrePatcher.jar "<WSAD_Install_directory>"


For Linux:
"<WSAD_Install_directory>/runtimes/base_v5/java/jre/bin/java" -jar PrePatcher.jar "<WSAD_Install_directory>"

Where <WSAD_Install_directory> is the directory where WebSphere Studio is installed, for example C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere Studio\Application Developer\v5.1.1


WTE v5.1 (5.1.0)

There are no known issues.
Please follow the normal steps and instructions while upgrading.


WTE Express v5.0

There are no known issues.
Please follow the normal steps and instructions while upgrading.


WTE Express v5.1

There are no known issues.
Please follow the normal steps and instructions while upgrading.
