Description
This readme provides information about the patch available in this interim fix.
This fix can be installed on an existing installation of IBM WebSphere RFID
Premises Server 1.1, or it can be used when migrating from WebSphere RFID
Premises Server 1.0.2 to 1.1.
Use the following steps to determine if you need
this fix on an existing installation of WebSphere RFID
Premises Server 1.1:
- Open the WebSphere RFID Premises Server Administrative Console.
- In the left navigation panel, navigate to Controllers > Locations
> Readers > Printers. If you see the following message displayed
in the right panel, then you should install this interim fix:
The following error(s) occurred:
The action did not complete. If you are trying to delete an object that is referred to by other objects,
please delete these references first and then remove this object.
Update history
This update includes the following APAR fixes:
IC49556: Database corruption when migrating
from 1.0.2 to 1.1.
The fix files for existing installations of WebSphere RFID
Premises Server 1.1 are:
- hotfix_migration_from_fp2_db2.sql
- hotfix_migration_from_fp2_ora9i.sql
The fix files for migrating from WebSphere RFID
Premises Server 1.0.2 to 1.1 are:
- migration_from_fp2_db2.sql
- migration_from_fp2_ora9i.sql

This interim fix for WebSphere RFID Premises Server supports the hardware
and software versions listed on the
system
requirements page.
Installing the fix
Use these instructions to install the interim fix on an existing installation
of WebSphere RFID Premises Server 1.1:
- Copy the files included in this fix to a local directory, such
as C:\IC49556.
- Stop WebSphere Application Server.
- Run the script to fix the corrupted database for DB2 or for Oracle.
For DB2:
- Open a command window and change directory to where you downloaded the fix
files, such as C:\IC49556.
- Run this command:
db2 -tvf hotfix_migration_from_fp2_db2.sql
For Oracle:
- Open the SQLPlus Worksheet. From the Start menu, select Programs > Oracle
- OraHome92 > Application Development > SQLPlus
Worksheet. An Oracle Enterprise Manager Login window appears.
- Log in with your Oracle user ID. Click OK.
- From the menu at the top of the window, select File >
Open.
- In the Open Local Script File window, navigate to the C:\IC49556 directory.
- Select hotfix_migration_from_fp2_ora9i.sql.
- Click Open. The SQL statements are displayed in the SQLPlus Worksheet
edit pane. Change the user name and password if you desire.
- Select Worksheet > Execute from the
menu at the top of the window to run the script.
- Start WebSphere Application Server.
- Open the WebSphere RFID Premises Server Administrative Console.
- Verify that you can retrieve all the pages in the console, and that they display the correct information.
Use these instructions to install the interim fix if you are migrating to
WebSphere
RFID Premises Server 1.1 from version 1.0.2.
- Copy the files included in this fix to a local directory, such
as C:\IC49556.
- Stop WebSphere Application Server.
- Copy the contents of the db_script directory from the WebSphere
RFID Premises Server 1.1 (CD 17) to a local directory, such as C:\RFID1.1.
- Replace the scripts you saved from CD 17 with the updated scripts from the
APAR that you saved in C:\IC49556. The paths and names of the files
you should replace are:
- db_script\db2\migration_from_fp2_db2.sql
- db_script\oracle\migration_from_fp2_ora9i.sql
- Follow the steps in the WebSphere
RFID Premises Server Information Center to migrate from version 1.0.2
to 1.1.
- Start WebSphere Application Server.
- Open the WebSphere RFID Premises Server Administrative Console.
- Verify that you can retrieve all the pages in the console, and that they display the correct information.
