(See Contents of the Packs for EDI.) - Two new EDIFACT Type Trees - D.05A and D.05B. (See Contents of the Packs for EDI.) - Documentation presentation changes. (See Documentation Notes.) ===================================================================== 2: DOCUMENTATION NOTES ===================================================================== Documentation for the IBM WTX Pack(s) for EDI is available in InfoCenters as well as in PDFs. To access the documentation you must first install IBM WTX version 8.1.0 and then the IBM WTX Pack(s) for EDI. Accessing the IBM WTX Pack(s) for EDI InfoCenter(s) -------------------------------------------------- To access the InfoCenter(s): 1. From the windows Start menu select: Start > IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender 8.1 > Start the InfoCenter 2. When the InfoCenter opens, select "Pack for EDI" from the navigation pane on the left side of the InfoCenter window. - If you have installed the Pack for X12, or the Pack for EDIFACT, you will have additional InfoCenters available for these Packs. - If you have installed one of the other Packs for EDI (TRADACOMS, EANCOM, or ODETTE) all associated documentation is contained in the Pack for EDI InfoCenter. 3. After you have finished using the InfoCenter return to the Start menu and select: Start > IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender 8.1 > Dismiss the InfoCenter Accessing the IBM WTX Pack(s) for EDI PDF(s) -------------------------------------------- To access the PDF(s), begin at the Windows Start menu and select: Start > IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender 8.1 > Pack for EDI > Pack for EDI Documentation. - If you have installed the Pack for X12, or the Pack for EDIFACT, additional documentation will be available from the Start menu at the same location as described above. - If you have installed one of the other Packs for EDI (TRADACOMS, EANCOM, or ODETTE) all associated documentation is contained in the PDF accessed from the Pack for EDI Documentation. ===================================================================== 3: INSTALLATION NOTES ===================================================================== IBM WTX products include a simple installation program. Procedures differ slightly based upon the product being installed and the platform being used. However, specific instructions in the installation program lead you through the details of the installation. NOTE Throughout these release notes, "install_dir\" is used to indicate the path where the base IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender (WTX) product is installed. The default path for Windows is: C:\Program Files\IBM\IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender n.n where n.n represents the version number of the release. NOTE Before you begin installing an IBM WTX product, close any other programs that may be running on your computer. Having other programs running may cause installation errors. INSTALLATION PREREQUISITES -------------------------- IBM WTX version 8.1.0 must be installed before installing any of the Packs for EDI. The IBM WTX Packs for EDI can be installed on the following platforms, where supported by IBM WTX 8.1.0: - Windows NT - Windows XP - Windows 2000 - IBM AIX - Sun Solaris - HP-UX - IBM z/OS NOTE: There is no need to re-install the type trees that were installed in a prior release. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ------------------------- You can install IBM WTX products: - From the Electronic Software Distribution (ESD) site OR - From the CD-ROM From the ESD Site ----------------- To install IBM WTX products from the ESD site: 1) Download the file from the ESD site. 2) If you are installing on a different machine, transfer the file (in binary mode) to the target machine. 3) On Windows, run the corresponding .EXE file. OR On UNIX, untar the image and run DSTXINST. 4) Follow the instructions presented in the installation program. From the CD-ROM --------------- Instructions are presented by platform (either Windows or UNIX). Windows Platform ----------------- To run Windows-based IBM WTX products, your computer system should meet the following minimum requirements: - personal computer (Pentium III-based processor with a monitor and a mouse or compatible pointing device) with at least 1 GB of hard-disk space and 256 MB of RAM NOTE Depending upon the product components you choose to install and the size and complexity of your data and maps, additional RAM or hard disk space may be required. Additional system requirements, if any, are listed in the documentation for each product component. To install an IBM WTX product on a Windows platform: 1) Insert the IBM WTX product CD into the CD-ROM drive. 2) If the installation program starts automatically within a few moments, skip to Step 4. OR If it does not start within a few moments, from the Start menu, select Run. 3) Enter D:\setup.exe to execute the installation program in the root directory of the IBM WTX product CD where D: represents the appropriate letter of your CD-ROM drive. 4) Follow the instructions presented in the installation program. ===================================================================== 4: UNINSTALL INSTRUCTIONS ===================================================================== - To uninstall IBM WTX Pack(s) for EDI product components from Windows platforms, from the Start menu, select Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Highlight the product component to be uninstalled and click Add/Remove. - To uninstall IBM WTX Pack(s) for EDI products from UNIX platforms, your current directory must not be within the IBM WTX Pack(s) for EDI installation directory tree. The uninstall script does not delete the main installation directory itself. This installation directory must be manually removed. For example, if the product was installed into directory /Program Files/IBM/IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender n.n, you could do the following: cd /IBM rm -rf ./IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender n.n Either individual components or the entire IBM WTX installation can be removed. Below the directory in which the products are installed is a subdirectory named /dstx_install that contains the uninstall scripts. To remove the product or a component, execute the corresponding uninstall script (from a directory outside the /install_dir/directory) by providing the full path, similar to the following command: install_dir/dstx_install/item_to_be_removed.uninstall where install_dir is the directory in which IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender n.n was installed and item_to_be_removed is the component or product to be uninstalled. ===================================================================== 5: CONTENTS OF THE PACKS FOR EDI ===================================================================== The IBM WTX Pack(s) for EDI contain IBM EDI standards type trees and map examples. TYPE TREES AND EXAMPLE FILES ---------------------------- The EDI Type Trees are accessed by navigating to the specific folder(edifact, eancom, odette, tradacoms and x12) and then selecting the trees folder: install_dir\packs\EDI_v2.7\\trees Example files for EDIFACT and X12 are accessed by first navigating to the specific folder (edifact or x12) and selecting the examples folder: install_dir\packs\EDIs_v2.7\x12\examples OR install_dir\packs\EDI_v2.7\edifact\examples IBM WTX PACK FOR EANCOM ----------------------- There are no changes or updates to this Pack in this release. IBM WTX PACK FOR EDIFACT ------------------------ This release includes support for two new EDIFACT type trees: - D05A AND - D05B. These trees are contained in the IBM WTX Pack for EDIFACT installation. The files that contain these trees are: - edifd05a.mtt AND - edifd05b.mtt These type trees are located in the following directory: install_dir\packs\EDI_v2.7\edifact\trees IBM WTX PACK FOR ODETTE ----------------------- There are no changes or updates to this Pack in this release. IBM WTX PACK FOR TRADACOMS -------------------------- There are no changes or updates to this Pack in this release. IBM WTX PACK FOR X12 -------------------- A new 5030 type tree is contained in the IBM WTX Pack for X12 installation.
