Product Overview Provides a description of Business Integration Connect and how it fits in the WebSphere family of products. It describes:

Release Notes Lists late-breaking information about the product.
Integration Overview Provides an overview of the interface used by backend applications to send and receive messages from Business Integration Connect. It describes:
  • The types of protocols and packaging that can be used to send and receive information
  • The transport-level headers that are added when Backend Integration packaging has been specified
  • File-based integration
  • Integration (over the HTTP or JMS transport protocol) with the WebSphere InterChange Server, including the use of the Attachment Data Handler
  • Integration over the JMS transport protocol with WebSphere Data Interchange
  • Information on how Business Integration Connect routes EDI documents

The following documents provide information on how to set up connections with Community Participants, send and receive documents, and monitor the system.

Document Information
Getting Started Lists the set of tasks you perform when using Business Integration Connect for the first time. 
Community Console User Guide Provides step-by-step instructions for performing tasks through the use of the Community Console.

This book provides Community Managers and Community Participants with the following information:

  • A definition of the types of users and the tasks that those users perform
  • Instructions for updating a participant profile as well as creating or updating users, groups, contacts, and addresses.
  • A description of gateways and instruction about creating and editing them
  • A description of B2B capabilities and instructions about viewing or updating them
  • An explanation of certificates, with definitions of terminology, and instructions for managing certificates
  • Instructions for setting up an FTP account
  • Descriptions of event-based and volume-based alerts and instructions for managing alerts
  • Descriptions of the event and document viewers and instructions for viewing event details, message details, and raw documents
  • Descriptions of the document analysis tools and document volume reports
  • Instructions for using the Test Participant connection tool
  • A description of and instructions for using the Community Participant Simulator
Administrator Guide Provides step-by-step instructions for setting up and managing the Hub in a trading partner community. 

The book provides information for both Hub Admins and Operator Admins and includes information about and instructions for exchanging RosettaNet and cXML documents and for using the Web services (SOAP proxy) support.

  For Hub Admins, the following information is provided:

  • Instructions on configuring Community Console Locale information, branding the console, establishing the password policy, and configuring permissions
  • Descriptions of and instructions for establishing targets, configuring document flow definitions, configuring validation maps, creating and editing XML formats, enabling and disabling actions, and managing event codes

For all administrators (Hub Admins and Operator Admins), the following information is provided:

Community Console Participant Guide Provides step-by-step instructions for performing tasks through the use of the Community Console. This guide is for Community Participants that do not use Business Integration Connect.

This book provides instructions on performing the following tasks:

  • Verifying that your participant profile is correct
  • Setting up gateways and B2B capabilities
  • Obtaining and uploading certificates
  • Creating users and groups
  • Defining alerts
PIP Sample Provides a description of and instructions for using the PIP sample provided with Business Integration Connect. This document describes how to set up Business Integration Connect, WebSphere MQ, and WebSphere InterChange Server. It then shows how to run three scenarios in which PIP documents are exchanged.
