Description/symptom of problem: PK45378 resolves the following problem: ERROR DESCRIPTION: An ear file is installed and started. The application is started but is immediately stopped and these messages are logged in the SystemOut.log file . [5/2/07 15:52:51:437 CDT] 0000000a ApplicationMg E WSVR0101W: An error occurred starting, premierproviderxwalk [5/2/07 15:52:51:451 CDT] 0000000a ApplicationMg A WSVR0217I: Stopping application: premierproviderxwalk . There are a number of reasons why the WSVR0101W might get logged. The problem is that the underlying exception that causes this is not recorded in SystemOut, SystemErr or FFDC logs. LOCAL FIX: None PROBLEM SUMMARY USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server version 6.0 and 6.1 users diagnosing application startup exceptions. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Exceptions during application startup are not always logged. RECOMMENDATION: None When an unexpected exception is thrown during application startup, the application layer wraps the unexpected exception in an exception that indicates to the application manager layer that the exception has already been logged. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: The unexpected exception is wrapped in an exception class that does not prevent the application manager from logging the original exception. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpaks 6.0.2.23 and 6.1.0.11.
