Fix (APAR): PK43575 Status: Test Release: 6.0.2.21,6.0.2.19,6.0.2.17 Operating System: AIX Supersedes Fixes: CMVC Defect: PK43575 Byte size of APAR: 18873 Date: 2007-07-27 Abstract: Non-serializable data is put in the session which will lead to session replication failure. Description/symptom of problem: PK43575 resolves the following problem: ERROR DESCRIPTION: One of the root class for JSF implementation do not implement java.io.Serializable interface. This cause exceptions when replicating the JSF state in session. Even though there are options to supress hte message by not persistance data, there is a drawback od dataloss on failover. LOCAL FIX: None PROBLEM SUMMARY USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server version 6.0.2 and 6.1 users of JavaServer Faces (JSF) with the com.sun.faces.enableHighAvailability context paramater in the web.xml set to true. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Non-serializable data is put in the session which will lead to session replication failure. RECOMMENDATION: None Application Server's JSF implementation puts a non-serializable class called SerializedView in the session when the com.sun.faces.enableHighAvailability context parameter is set to true. This causes failures when the session is then replicated between servers or the contents are otherwise serialized. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: The non-serializable class is no longer placed in the session, instead an object array is used. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 6.0.2.23 and 6.1.0.13.
