II.  Overview 
=============================================================================================

This application enables to add WebSphere Commerce as new internet sales channel to
the SAP R/3 ERP system. It enables buyers to use WebSphere Commerce stores to shop 
and order materials which are defined in the ERP system. 

This reference application also enables existing R/3 customers to browse the catalog
and place orders in WebSphere Commerce stores. It allows new users registered in SAP
to be registered in WebSphere Commerce and use WebSphere Commerce storefront.

The WebSphere Commerce system caches customer, material, inventory, pricing, order
status and other information on a regular basis from the SAP system. The nature of
transactions in this integration allows WebSphere Commence to be notified of changes
in the SAP data, and alternatively, SAP to be notified of the orders created in
WebSphere Commence.
