-
During a Quick Installation, information will
need to be entered for creating a WebSphere
Commerce instance. When creating a WebSphere Commerce instance during a
Quick Installation, ensure that double byte characters are not used in the
instance name.
- Before beginning a Quick Installation, ensure that TCP/IP
port 1099 is not already in use on your iSeries system. To check this, do the
following:
- From the iSeries command line, type the following: netstat *cnn
- On the Work with TCP/IP Connection Status screen, ensure that port 1099 is
not listed (be sure to page through the whole listing).
- If port 1099 is in use, it will need to be stopped before Quick
Installation is started.
- The installation of WebSphere Commerce Version 5.5 will
create an entry in the License Information table on your iSeries system.
To change the information for the WebSphere Commerce Version 5.5 product, do
the following:
- From the iSeries command line, type the following: WRKLICINF
- Scroll down to PRODUCT 5724A18 and type a 2 in the OPT field
- In the USGLMT field, change the value to the number of processors that you
are licensed for.
- Press ENTER. Further parameters will be shown.
- Alter these additional parameters if necessary.
- Press ENTER to accept the changes.
- For all users following the IBM WebSphere Commerce for eServer iSeries
Quick Beginnings, you can ensure that
WebSphere Commerce is installed on your iSeries using iSeries Navigator. Do
the following steps to view entries in iSeries Navigator:
- On a Windows PC where iSeries Access is installed, click Start > Programs
> IBM iSeries Access for Windows > iSeries Navigator
- In the iSeries Navigator window, expand Management Central > Endpoint
Systems
- Right click on the iSeries system and click Inventory > Collect
- A new window opens. Ensure that Software is checked. Click OK to start the
collection.
- Expand Management Central > Task Activity > Inventory
- In the right hand panel, a task for your iSeries system should be listed.
Use the F5 key until the Status shows 'Completed'.
- Click Management Central > Endpoint Systems > iSeries system
> Configuration and Service > Software Inventory > Installed
Products
The right hand panel will show a listing of products. Scroll to the bottom
where the WebSphere Commerce entries are shown.
For further details on this procedure, refer to the IBM WebSphere Commerce for eServer iSeries Installation Guide for
OS/400 Version 5.5.
- If you are performing a Quick Installation with a double-byte language,
and using the InstallShield MultiPlatform Professional (ISMP) console mode
installation, it may report that the Commerce and/or Payments instances were
not created successfully when, in fact, they have been. To verify if the
instances were created successfully, search the following files for the word
"SUCCESS":
/QIBM/UserData/CommerceServer55/instances/WC_CMQuickConfig.log
/QIBM/UserData/CommerceServer55/instances/PM_CMQuickConfig.log
- If you are using the IBM WebSphere Commerce for eServer iSeries
Quick Beginnings, the installation of WebSphere Commerce Version 5.5 will
also install WebSphere Application Server. The installation of WebSphere
Application Server Version 5.0 will also install the WebSphere MQ classes for
Java (5639C34) on your iSeries system if it is not already installed. The
installation of the WebSphere MQ classes for Java 5639C34 will fail if your
iSeries has subsystem QMQM active. Ensure that subsystem QMQM is ended prior
to starting an installation of WebSphere Commerce and WebSphere Application
Server.
After installing WebSphere Commerce Version 5.5, the latest WebSphere Application Server Group PTF will need
to be applied to your iSeries system. WebSphere Commerce Version 5.5 requires
WebSphere Application Server to be at level of 5.0.1 or higher.
Details of WebSphere Application for iSeries PTFs can be found at the
following URL:
www.as400.ibm.com/websphere
- Once you have navigated to the site, from the left side, click PTFs.
- Under PTF Information, select the appropriate WebSphere Edition to view
information
for WebSphere Group PTFs, other Group PTFs and Additional PTFs.
- Through normal PTF ordering processes, order the applicable Group PTF
depending on the implementation of WebSphere Application Server you are
running:
SF99246 - WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment
SF99245 - WebSphere Application Server
Note: Group PTF Level 2 or higher should be ordered.
The installation of the WebSphere Group PTF will require an IPL of the system.
Also, after the installation of WebSphere Commerce Version 5.5, other
OS/400 product PTFs may be required. Refer to the website below for a listing
of required individual PTFs and ensure these PTFs are applied to your iSeries
