Customer profiles

A customer profile incorporates registration information, demographics, address information, customer culture, purchase history, and other miscellaneous attributes which define a dynamic group of customers or accounts. Customer profiles serve as targets for advertising, promotions, suggestive selling, and discounts. Customer profiles are created by merchants using the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.

Customer profiles are related to, but distinct from member groups. Customer profiles are typically more useful to achieve merchandising goals, while member groups are more useful for site designers.
