Creating new initiatives for a campaign

To create new initiatives for an existing campaign, do the following:

  1. Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.
  2. From the Marketing menu, click Campaign Initiatives.
    The Campaign Initiatives list displays containing the initiatives for the selected campaign. If you do not see this menu, then your logon ID does not have the appropriate authority to perform this task. Contact your Site Administrator.
  3. Click New. The Campaign Initiative wizard opens.
  4. Define the general characteristics of the initiative as follows:
    1. Type a campaign initiative name, Sample coupon promotion.
    2. In the initiatives classification drop-down list, select coupon.
    3. In the description text box, type a description for your initiative, such as Campaign initiative for the sample campaign promotion.
    4. In the campaign drop-down list, select the campaign, in this case, Sample campaign. Click Next. The Defining displayed dynamic content (what) page displays.
  5. Define what dynamic content will display:
    1. Select show advertisement, and then Advertise Coupon.
    2. From the right box, select the correct available ad copy for this campaign initiative, Coupon Promotion 03 ad copy.
    3. Click Add, to add the ad copy to the Selected ad copy box. Click Next to go to the Defining target customers (who) page.
    4. Select Target all customers. If you select Target customer profiles, you must have some customer profiles already defined.
    5. Click Next. The Defining dates for targeting customers (when) page displays.
  6. Choose when the dynamic content will display:
    1. Select Everyday. Click Next. The Defining target customer behaviors (which) page displays.
  7. Complete each page as required selecting the values appropriate for the campaign initiative you want to create.
  8. Click Finish to save the new campaign initiative. The initiative is displayed in the Campaign Initiatives list.
