What's in this README

This README file provides instructions for the proper installation and un-installation of the JR20874 interim fix. Please follow the instructions carefully.

APAR JR20874_WIN is the catalog access control fixes.

Pre-Requisites

No upgrades to any of the additional supported software are needed.

If you do not have the WebSphere Commerce Studio 5.5 update installation tool, you may download it at the WebSphere Commerce Support Site.

If you are downloading the WebSphere Commerce Studio 5.5 update installation tool please extract/unzip it to a temporary directory. The location of the WebSphere Commerce Studio 5.5 update installation tool will be denoted by installer_dir in the remaining sections of this guide.

Installing JR20874 (Graphical User Interface)

1. Ensure that you are logged in with a Windows user ID that is a member of the Administrators group.
2. Stop the following processes (if running):
   • WebSphere Commerce Test Server. For example, server1 in WSAD.
   • WebSphere Commerce Configuration Manager server.

   For instructions on how to stop and start services, refer to the IBM WebSphere Commerce Version 5.6 Installation Guide.

3. Navigate to installer_dir and double-click on updateWizard.bat.
   
4. Click OK for English.
5. Click Next to continue.
6. Click Next to accept the WebSphere Commerce product found on your computer, or select the drive:\WebSphere\CommerceStudio55 directory.
7. Select Install fixes. Click Next.
8. Click Browse. Navigate to and click once on the APARfix_dir\studio directory to select it. Click Open. Click Next.
9. Select the APAR to install by clicking the checkbox, then click Next to continue.
10. Click Next to begin installing.
11. Ensure that the installer displays the message The following fix was successfully installed. If you do not get this message the installer will indicate which log files to check.
12. Use the updateWizard again and select the drive:\WebSphere\myworkspace directory.
13. Select Install fixes. Click Next.
14. Click Browse. Navigate to and click once on the APARfix_dir\workspace directory to select it. Click Open. Click Next.
15. Select the APAR to install by clicking the checkbox, then click Next to continue.
16. Click Next to begin installing.
17. Ensure that the installer displays the message The following fix was successfully installed. If you do not get this message the installer will indicate which log files to check.
18. Click Finish to complete the installation.

Installing JR20874 (Silent)

1. Ensure that you are logged in with a Windows user ID that is a member of the Administrators group.
2. Stop the following processes (if running):
   • WebSphere Commerce Test Server. For example, server1 in WSAD.
   • WebSphere Commerce Configuration Manager server.

   For instructions on how to stop and start services, refer to the IBM WebSphere Commerce Version 5.6 Installation Guide.

3. Using the command line, navigate to installer_dir.
   
4. Type the following command replacing, where appropriate, options specific to your WebSphere Commerce installation.

   updateSilent.bat fix install WCDE_installdir JR20874 APARfix_dir

5. Press Enter.
6. Ensure that the installer displays the message Fix installation completed successfully. If you do not get this message the installer will indicate the log files to check.
   
7. Installation is complete.

Uninstalling JR20874 (Graphical User Interface)

1. Ensure you are logged in with a Windows user ID that is a member of the Administrators group.
2. Stop the following processes (if running):

   • Web server and its respective administration processes,
   • WebSphere Commerce Application Servers. For example, WC_instance_name.
   • WebSphere Commerce Configuration Manager server.

   For instructions on how to stop and start services, refer to the IBM WebSphere Commerce Version 5.6 Installation Guide.

3. Using the command line (DOS window), navigate to installer_dir and type the following command: updateWizard.bat.

4. Click OK for English.
5. Click Next to continue.
   
6. Click Next to accept the WebSphere Commerce product found on your computer, or select the drive:\WebSphere\CommerceStudio55 directory.
7. Select Uninstall fixes. Click Next.
8. Select the fix to be uninstalled. Click Next to continue.
9. Click Next to uninstall the fix.
10. Ensure that the installer displays the message The following fix was successfully uninstalled. If you do not get this message the installer will indicate the log files to check.
11. Use the updateWizard again and select the drive:\WebSphere\myworkspace directory.
12. Select Uninstall fixes. Click Next.
13. Select the fix to be uninstalled. Click Next to continue.
14. Click Next to uninstall the fix.
15. Ensure that the installer displays the message The following fix was successfully uninstalled. If you do not get this message the installer will indicate the log files to check.
16. Click Finish to complete the uninstallation.

Uninstalling JR20874 (Silent)

1. Ensure that you are logged in with a Windows user ID that is a member of the Administrators group.
2. Stop the following processes (if running):
   • Web server and its respective administration processes,
   • WebSphere Commerce Application Servers. For example, WC_instance_name.
   • WebSphere Commerce Configuration Manager server.

   For instructions on how to stop and start services, refer to the IBM WebSphere Commerce Version 5.6 Installation Guide.

3. Using the command line, navigate to installer_dir.
4. Type the following command, replacing where appropriate, options specific to your WebSphere Commerce installation.

   updateSilent.bat fix uninstall WCDE_installdir JR20874

5. Press Enter.
6. Ensure that the installer displays the message The following fix was successfully uninstalled. If you do not get this message the installer will indicate the log files to check.
   
7. Uninstallation is complete.
