This README file provides instructions for applying the APAR on WebSphere Commerce 5.5.0.2 fix pack.


Terminology used in this book
cell_name
This variable represents the name of the WebSphere Application Server cell.

host_name
The fully qualified host name of your WebSphere Commerce machine. For example, server.mydomain.ibm.com is fully qualified.

instance_name
The name of a previously created WebSphere Commerce instance.

pay_instance_name
The name of a previously created WebSphere Commerce payments instance.

installer_dir
The temporary directory to which the UpdateInstaller installation tool has been extracted.

APARfix_dir
The temporary directory to which the files for the APAR fix have been extracted.


Path variables
HttpServer_installdir
The installation path for the IBM HTTP Server. The default installation directory is:
c:\Program Files\WebSphere\HttpServer

WC_installdir
The installation path for WebSphere Commerce 5.5. The default installation directory is:
c:\Program Files\WebSphere\CommerceServer55

What's in this README

This README file describes the product changes found in the JR19287_WIN fix.

APAR JR19287_WIN is to fix: Cannot create payment instance in Commerce Express with FixPack 2 on Windows 2003.

Ensure that you have installed the WebSphere Commerce 5.5.0.2 fix pack before applying this fix. This fix is not applicable to any other fix pack versions. This fix does not require upgrades to additional supported software.


Installing JR19287 (Graphical User Interface)

  1. WebSphere Commerce 5.5.0.2 fix pack UpdateInstaller installation tool is required to install this APAR fix. If you don't have the UpdateInstaller, please go to WebSphere Commerce Support Site to download WebSphere Commerce 5.5.0.2 fix pack. The UpdateInsatller is included in the fix pack.

  2. Download the JR19287_WIN.zip fix from the WebSphere Commerce Support site and extract the files into a temporary directory. This temporary directory will be denoted by: APARfix_dir in the remaining sections of this guide.

  3. Ensure that you are logged in with a Windows user ID that is a member of the Administrator group.

  4. Stop the following:

    For instructions on how to stop and start services, refer to the IBM WebSphere Commerce Version 5.5 Installation Guide.

  5. Using the command line (DOS window), navigate to installer_dir and type the following command: updateWizard.bat.
  6. Click OK for English.
  7. Click Next to continue.
  8. Click Next to accept the WebSphere Commerce product found on your computer.
  9. Select Install fixes. Click Next.
  10. Click Browse. Navigate to the APARfix_dir directory. Click on wc once to select the wc folder, then click Open. Click Next.
  11. Click Next to accept the fix found.
  12. Click Next to begin installing.
  13. Ensure that the installer displays the message The following fix was successfully installed. If you do not get this message the installer will indicate which log files to check. Click Finish.
  14. Installation is complete. Congratulations.

Installing JR19287 (Silent)

  1. The UpdateInstaller installation tool is required to install this APAR fix. Please retrieve it from the WebSphere Commerce Support site and extract/unzip it into a temporary directory. This temporary directory will be denoted by: installer_dir in the remaining sections of this guide.
  2. Download the JR19287_WIN.zip fix from the WebSphere Commerce Support site and extract the files into a temporary directory. This temporary directory will be denoted by: APARfix_dir in the remaining sections of this guide.
  3. Ensure that you are logged in with a Windows user ID that is a member of the Administrator group.
  4. Stop the following:

    For instructions on how to stop and start services, refer to the IBM WebSphere Commerce Version 5.5 Installation Guide.

  5. Using the command line, navigate to installer_dir.
  6. Type following, replacing where appropriate, options specific to your WebSphere Commerce installation.

    updateSilent.bat fix install WC_installDir JR19287 APARfix_dir\wc

    Please note the \wc appended to APARfix_dir.

  7. Press Enter.
  8. Installation is complete. Congratulations. Ensure that the installer displays the message Fix installation completed successfully. If you do not get this message the installer will indicate the log files to check.


Uninstalling JR19287 (Graphical User Interface)

  1. The UpdateInstaller installation tool is required to uninstall an APAR fix. Please retrieve it from the WebSphere Commerce Support site and extract/unzip it into a temporary directory. This temporary directory will be denoted by: installer_dir in the remaining sections of this guide.
  2. Ensure you are logged in with a Windows user ID that is a member of the Administrator group.
  3. Stop the following:

    For instructions on how to stop and start services, refer to the IBM WebSphere Commerce Version 5.5 Installation Guide.

  4. Using the command line (DOS window), navigate to installer_dir and type the following command: updateWizard.bat.
