Fix (APAR): PH44095 Status: Fix Release: 22.0.0.2 Operating System: AIX,IBM i,Linux,OS X,Windows,z/OS Supersedes Fixes: CMVC Defect: xxxxxx Byte size of APAR: 5000998 Date: 2022-02-14 Abstract: Fix SRVE8501E Error in Webcontainer Description/symptom of problem: PH44095 resolves the following problem: ERROR DESCRIPTION: The server may encounter SRVE8501E: The servlet container did not load with an acceptable version error for some features. The issue is most likely to occur with collective features such as collectiveController-1.0 and collectiveMember-1.0. This error can also happen with any feature that relies on the two mentioned. The servlet container keeps an internal record of which feature version is loaded, such as 3.1 or 4.0. The servlet code may misbehave if this error occurs since the internal version defaults to version 30. LOCAL FIX: PROBLEM SUMMARY: USERS AFFECTED: Users of Webcontainer on Liberty version 22.0.0.2 that use collective features. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Fix SRVE8501E Error for Servlet Features RECOMMENDATION: None When the collective related features (i.e collectiveController- 1.0, collectiveMember-1.0, or any others that require these collective features) are enabled, the server exception "SRVE8501E: The servlet container did not load with an acceptable version" might occur. Due to this error, the server uses the default 3.0 servlet version. The application might therefore misbehave due to the incorrect version. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: The webcontainer code in Liberty has been updated to avoid this error.
