APAR status Closed as program error. Error description EAR Expander is working as designed but should include some examples of how to work with EAR files from different versions: 1) An example of earexpander options when trying to copy EAR directories from one system to another 2) How the EAR is expanded in the installedApps directory.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server 4.0 fix pack * * 2 through 5 users of the EARExpander utility * * to fully expand all JARs in an EAR. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When collapsing the EAR back down, * * the non-module JAR files were not * * being zipped. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** This problem occurred due to a fix made for ALT-DD support. WebSphere uses folders with the JAR name to store generated alt-dds. For example, "ALT-INF/customer.jar/ejb-jar.xml". In 4.0.2, code was changed to treat folders with a .jar extension as folders and not as archives.Problem conclusion Treat folders with .jar extension as archives, except when the path starts with "ALT-INF". Fix released in WCCM build for 4.0.6.Temporary fix Comments
