![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description In WebSphere 4.x a customer closes the connection before the res ponse is sent back, The Plug in will log an error 500 to the HTT P error log. The code will be changed to log a 200 error with 0 length. The change is being made to reflect the same behavior th at was exhibited in 3.5.XLocal fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server Users of IHS * * under 4.0.x * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Websphere Plugins: Early connection * * closes logged as a 500 error in * * webserver access log. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Early connection closes were being logged as 500 errors in the IHS access logs. This was a problem for two reasons: 1) Early client closes are a common ( and normal ) event, so you would get a great number of 500 errors logged, which can interfere with site monitoring software that treats 500 errors as fatal problems, or problems that need immediate attention. 2) Earlier versions of WAS ( 3.5.x ) with IHS didn't log this condition as a 500, so we were being inconsistent between versions.Problem conclusion Modified the plugin code so 500 was not returned on early client closes.Temporary fix Comments
