The U.S. Government passed a law (Energy Policy Act) which
alters the Daylight Saving Time (DST) start and stop dates by four weeks.
Extended Daylight Saving Time will begin in March of 2007. Due to this
change, APARs, maintenance, or actions will be required for several IBM
software products that work in association with IBM WebSphere Application
Server.
The *U.S. official DST changes will be:
- Start Date: Second Sunday of March.
- End Date: First Sunday of November.
IBM SDK
IBM Software Development Kit (SDK®) development is addressing this issue
in future SDK service releases during 2006:
- IBM SDK development is estimating availability of this fix
in the following SDK service releases:
- SDK 1.3.1 SR10 (Q3 2006)
- SDK 1.4.2 SR5 (Q2 2006)
- SDK 5.0 SR2 (Q2 2006)
- Currently there are no related WebSphere® Application
Server fix packs available to address this issue. These fixes will be
included only in the preceding SDK service releases and will not be
available as individual fixes to your current SDK releases.
IBM AIX®
AIX development will be releasing APARs to change the current IBM AIX
behavior.
The IBM AIX APARs are the following:
- APAR_aix_53 = IY75211
- APAR_aix_52 = IY75213
- APAR_aix_51 = IY75214
- Currently no related PTFs are available.
