APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Environment: WebSphere Application Server 4.0.3 Advanced Edition (AE) WebSphere Commerce Suite . Description: In WebSphere Application Server 4.0.3 AE with security enabled, restarting the WCS app server causes the following message to appear in admin console: . 6/18/02 17:18:35:857 EDT 6d938229 ConnectO W Illegal use of 1PC resource in transaction javax.transaction.TransactionRolledbackException: CORBA TRANSACTION_ROLLEDBACK 0 No; nested exception is: org.omg.CORBA.TRANSACTION_ROLLEDBACK: com.ibm.websphere.csi.CSITransactionRolledbackException: at com.ibm.ejs.csi.TranStrategy.commit(TranStrategy.java:194) at com.ibm.ejs.csi.TranStrategy.postInvoke(TranStrategy.java:67 . This problem does not occur in WebSphere Application Server 4.0.2 AE, and it doesn't occur when WebSphere Application Server 4.0.3 security is disabled.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All WebSphere Application Server users who * * have enabled security. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: "Illegal use of 1PC resource in * * transaction" errors received during * * WebSphere Commerce Suite * * initialization. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** "Illegal use of 1PC resource in transaction" errors received during WebSphere Commerce Suite initialization. This issue may be seen on initialization or during runtime of any application server if EJBs which use data sources have been deployed. The problem was caused by new EJB calls which were made, necessarily, in a non-standard manner which implicitly involved the calls in any existing transactions.Problem conclusion The problem was resolved by explicitly suspending and resuming any existing transaction.Temporary fix A test fix was supplied.Comments
