Can WebSphere use JNDI as a user registry for authentication?
 
Solution
Yes , as long as JNDI is used through the pluggable user registry. You would have to implement the appropriate interfaces, as defined by the pluggable user registry support, and your implementation would have to be free to get the authentication information from wherever it is appropriate, including JNDI.
