Problem
How to configure SSL to administrative console on WebSphere® Application Server V4.0 Advanced Edition, Single Server?
 
Solution
The Web server must already be configured to use SSL.

  1. Configure WebSphere Application Server to use SSL on the predefined 9090 transport used that is used by the Web administrative console.

    Note: For help see "6.6.13.3 Configuring transports" in the Web console.

    1. Open WebSphere Application Server administrative console see:

    2. Click on Nodes > Hostname > Application Server > application_server_name> Web Containers > HTTP Transport

    3. Check SSL Enabled and External boxes.

    4. Press OK

    5. Save configuration

  2. Stop and restart WebSphere Application Server

Test by using https://localhost:9090/admin.
