Custom property "databaseName" should not be required for data source connecting to Microsoft SQL Server
 Technote (FAQ)

Problem
When creating a data source for Microsoft® SQL Server using SequeLink® JDBC®, WebSphere embedded Connect JDBC, DataDirect Connect JDBC or Microsoft SQL Server 2000 JDBC drivers, the custom property databaseName is required. The databaseName should be an optional attribute. It is optional for the JDBC Drivers above.

Cause
APAR PQ85425 removes the requirement of custom property databaseName.

Solution
With the databaseName marked as a required property, you are forced to enter the value for the database name. That means if you have many databases on an SQL Server instance, you must create one data source for each of the databases. This takes away the flexibility of using the default database name associated with a user ID and increases overhead (maintenance of the data sources, and potentially more memory for the JVM).
