Problem |
During a custom installation of WebSphere® Application
Server V4.0.1 and V4.0.2, you can choose not to install the Java™ SDK 1.3.
However, interim fixes and fix packs require that the Java SDK 1.3 already
be installed. |
|
Cause |
When configuring a HTTP remote Web server for WebSphere
Application Server, it is required that you install the Java SDK shipped
with WebSphere Application Server, even for systems where only the plug-in
is installed. |
|
Solution |
It is also possible to run the WebSphere Application
Server install again to add the Java SDK.
If the Java SDK is not installed with WebSphere Application Server, the
following might occur:
- Prompting for the location of the Java SDK when running
the fix pack installation.
- Errors occurring or "java not found" when trying to
install an interim fix using the command, java -jar.
Silent install
The Java SDK is automatically installed as part of a plug-in
installation. |
