PQ70811: MIGR0250W MESSAGE INDICATES ONLY 300 FILES COPIED BUT DOCUMENTROOTLIMIT WAS CONFIGURED TO COPY MORE THAN 300.

 A fix is available

4.0.6: WebSphere Application Server Version 4.0 Fix Pack 6

APAR status
Closed as documentation error.

Error description
When running the WASPostUpgrade script to migrate to WebSphere
4.0.X, the WASPostUpgrade log had a message similar to the
following:

MIGR0250W: Document Root file limit of 300 exceeded. Not all
files for Web Application TestWebApp copied to War File
TestWebApp.war.

documentRootLimit is configured to copy 1000 files but the
message indicated that only 300 files are copied to the War
file. The WAS does contain more than 300 files thus the
error messages is incorrect.

Development has indicated that this message has been corrected
in WebSphere 5.0.X but will not be changed in WebSphere 4.0.X.

By default up to 300 files will be copied to the war. A warning
message is logged if there are more than 300 files to be copied
to the war. If the documentRootLimit parameter is configured
to 1000 then up to 1000 are copied to the war. If there are
more than 1000 files to be copied to the war then the MIGR0250W
message is logged but still indicates that the files exceeded
the 300 limit. The 300 is hardcoded. It does copy the 1000
files.
Local fix
The 300 is a hardcoded value. The number of files copied is
set by documentRootLimit parameter or 300 if not configured.

By default, up to 300 files can be copied to the WAR file. If
there are more than 300 files, the MIGR0250W message is
logged. If the -documentRootLimit parameter is configured to
1000, up to 1000 files can be copied to the WAR file. If there
are more than 1000 files to be copied to the WAR file, the
MIGR0250W message is logged, but still indicates that the
number of files exceeds the limit of 300. This error message
is incorrect because the actual number of files that can be
copied is between 300 to 1000, depending on what the value
configured for the -document RootLimit parameter. The number
300 is a hardcoded value. The number of files that can be
copied is set by the -documentRootLimit parameter or 300 if the
parameter is not configured. Currently, there is no solution
for the problem.
