PQ76416; 4.0.6: JspBatchCompiler tries to compile directories and returns ExitCo
 Downloadable files

Abstract
JspBatchCompiler tries to compile directories and returns with ExitCode <> 0

Download Description
There are two parts of the problem:
1) The JspBatchCompiler traverses the WEB-INF directory trying to compile the JSP files in this directory. It returns 1 (one), which is a failure, when there is no JSP file under the WEB-INF directory.
2) The JspBatchCompiler returns 1 (one) when all the JSP files are up-to-date and compilation is not needed.

The JspBatchCompiler compiles all the JSP files under the WAR directory including the WEB-INF directory as designed. It returns a compile failure if the WEB-INF directory does not contain any JSP files even all the other JSP files are compiled successfully. The JspBatchCompiler command returns a failure
even if all the JSPs are up-to-date and no compilation is required.

USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server 4.0 users calling the JspBatchCompiler command in a shell script or batch file and rely on the return code from this command.
