The java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/ibm/rmi/iiop/GIOPVersionException
is usually logged because of a mismatch between the JDK version being used
by WebSphere, and that used with some other Java application. In the case
of Admin server startup failing after an application of a PTF, the JDK was
not upgraded as part of the PTF installation process. Use the following
steps to resolve the problem:
- Stop all java and http processes
- Remove the failing PTF install by using either the
uninstall_ptf_3.bat (Windows platform) or uninstall_ptf_3.sh (UNIX
platforms)
- Restart the machine (on Windows platform only)
- Change the directory to where the ptf installation files
reside
- Execute the install.bat (Windows platform) or install.sh
(UNIX)
making sure to answer 'yes' when you are asked if you want to
upgrade the JDK.
