PQ74669: Problem deploying an ear file from command line
 Downloadable files

Abstract
Problem deploying an ear file from command line in WebSphere® Application Server. This problem does not exist with the administrative console.

Download Description
PQ74669 resolves the following problems with wscp:

1. Pass in the correct ear file to the ear expander, which will expand the modified ear file that has the ibm-ejbbnd.xmi file.

2. Do the resource binding work after ejbs have been identified, as resources are bound to ejbs. Otherwise, resources binding code will be skipped since it thinks there is no ejb to bind to.

Users Affected:
WebSphere Application Server V4.0 users who use wscp to install applications.

Problem Conclusion:
Fix the wscp code to use the correct ear file that contains the ibm-ejb-jar-bnd.xmi file. Also change the ejb binding sequence so ejbs are identified first, then resources are bound to them.

(If install script is run again with the modified ear file, the missing datasource reference binding info. will be added into the ibm-ejb-jar-bnd.xmi file. However, the ejb binding information will be added twice.)
