PQ60981: ARRAYINDEXOUTOFBOUNDSEXCEPTION ON NT SYSTEMS WITH JIT ON | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
APAR status Closed as program error. Error description On Windows NT4/2000 systems with less than 1GB RAM the analyzer may fail with an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException. One workaround is to use the JVM option -Djava.compiler=NONE to turn the JIT off. On systems with larger memory the problem does not appear even with the JIT on.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: CmpOPT users on WebSphere Application * * Server 4.0.3 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: On WAS 4.0.3, CmpOPT is getting an * * ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** This APAR supercedes PQ57392. In WAS 4.0.3, CmpOPT may encounter an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException in the postProcess() method call. This problem occurs due to the JIT that shipped in WAS 4.0.3. Turning the JIT off solves this problem, however CmpOPT will run slower.Problem conclusion This efix provides a workaround by disabling only specific JIT optimizations for the method which is problematic. Also included is a fix so CmpOPT will always output the cmpopt.log and the three .ch files into the 'logs' directory under the WAS_HOME directory.Temporary fix Comments
