Abstract
JSP:Plugin Tag is not Handling Name Attribute Properly.

Download Description
PQ69895 resolves the following problem:

USERS AFFECTED:
WebSphere Application Server developers utilizing <jsp:plugin ../> tag inside of a JSP file.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Customer writes a JSP using JSP:Plugin tag to access an applet. When compiled by the WebSphere JSP processor, the NAME attribute set by the JSP:Plugin tag does not get included in the Java code produced. This leads to the applet not being able to speak to the JSP, hence, the applet does not appear to work.

WebSphere ignores the attribute "name" inside of the <jsp:plugin/> tag when generating the .java file for a JSP.

WebSphere improperly parses the JSP file when using the <jsp:plugin/> tag in a JSP. The code fails to add the attribute "name" when generating the applet tag.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
Modified the tag parser to include the attribute "name" in the generated source code for JSP that contain <jsp:plugin/> tags.
