Number is 153990Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server users on * * multiprocessor zLinux machines * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Dynacache does not scale well on zLinux * * on a 4way zSeries machine * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When attempting to run Dynacache on a 4-way zLinux machine, the performance was lower than on a single CPU machine.Problem conclusion Due to internal coding storage, the context switching caused by running on 4-ways or higher was limiting the performance of Dynacache. Redesigning those storage objects allowed the switching rate to drop from 140K to 42K, thus improving the system resource usage by Dynacache and the overall performance of the product.Temporary fix Comments
