How to add application property files with AAT in WebSphere 4.0.x
 Technote (FAQ)

Problem
AAT appears to limit files that can be added to .war, .ear, .jar and .zip.

Solution
Problem:

AAT appears to limit which files can be added to an EAR. However, the customer wants to add other types of files (e.g. *.properties or *.xml).

Solution:

Start AAT an open/create EAR file:

  1. If customer right clicks of Files,
  2. then chooses Add Files an "Add Files" box will appear.  Where it says "Root Directory or Archive" hit Browse.
  3. Now, although the Files of Type show that the user must select a .war, .ear, .jar or .zip, the customer can just select a folder from the filesystem that contains the file needed to be added.
  4. So select the appropriate folder, hit the select button, and then it will return you to the "Add Files" box with a tree starting at the directory you chose.
