PQ61587: PLUGIN REGEN IS REQUIRED FOR ALL PTF'S, NOT JUST PTF 2

APAR status
Closed as documentation error.

Error description
The CMVC defect
PQ54168.RN.1, as written, indicates that due t
change in the code, all subsequent PTF installations require tha
plug-in regen be performed. Unfortunately, the description that
its way into the Release Notes was written as "After applying Fi
regenerate your node's plug-in configuration."
It appears that when this text was reviewed to applicability f
PTF 3, the reviewers did not realize that this requirement will
true for all subsequent PTF's.
So, the fact that a plug-in regen is required needs to be
documented.

The following update will be made to the documentation:
Regenerate plug-in configuration after installing WebSphere
Application Server FixPaks (Defect PQ61587)

After you install a WebSphere Application Server FixPak, you
need to regenerate the plug-in configuration. To regenerate
the configuration, complete the following steps:
1. Ensure that your hardware and supporting software meet
prerequisites for this FixPak. The lists of prerequisite
products needed for IBM WebSphere Application Server are
    at
http://www.ibm.com/software/webservers/appserv/doc/
    latest/prereq.html.
2. Install this FixPak using the instructions in the README
file that accompanies the FixPak downloadable files.
3. After applying the FixPak, regenerate your node's plug-in
    configuration.
For the Advanced Edition:
a.Go to the administrative console, expand WebSphere
  Administrative Domain, and expand Nodes.
b.Right-click on your node and select Regen Webserver Plugin
  from the pop-up menu.
For the Advanced Single Server Edition:
a.In a Web browser, access the URL
http://localhost:9090/admin.
b.When presented with a log-in dialog box, enter your user ID.
c.Expand Nodes, expand your node, and expand Application
Servers, and select your application server.
d.Click on the link Web Server Plug-In Configuration.
e.Click on Generate and, later, click on the link exit located
  in the top menu bar.
Alternatively, for both the Advanced Edition and Advanced Single
Server Edition, regenerate your plug-ins by running the
command-line utility GenPluginCfg. For information on the
command-line utility's arguments, type GenPluginCfg.bat for
Windows platforms or GenPluginCfg.sh for UNIX platforms. For
more detailed instructions, visit the Version 4.0
InfoCenter.
