Error description If the length of a line in JSP source is greater than 255 chars, while running the JSP in debug mode in WTE 4.0 the following exception is thrown: java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: 302 at java.lang.String.substring(String.java:2038) at org.apache.jasper.compiler.ibmdebug.ClassLineModifier. createSourceToSourceVector(ClassLineModifier.java:209) ............. . WSAD WTE WebSphere String index out of range debugLocal fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server developers * * debugging JSPs. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WebSphere throws a * * StringIndexOutOfBoundsException when * * creating a debuggable JSP classfile. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A StringIndexOutOfBoundsException is thrown when attempting to create a debuggable JSP classfile containing a debuggable line greater than 255 characters. The code was written with the assumption that no line would exceed this line length limit.Problem conclusion Modified the code to remove the limitation of source code line lengths from the ClassLineModifier used by the JSP debugger.Temporary fix Comments
