APAR status Closed as program error. Error description CMVC Component: WEBSJAVA.NLS This problem was originally fixed in WAS 3.5.x with defect 85699. This is now a regression in WAS 4.0.1 and the customer requests an EFix as soon a possible. Problem: Japanese characters are returning incorrectly when using UTF-8 as the charset. Customer has provided a testcase. Globalization team has verified this as a defect (Dennis Hebert, SangWon Oh) . Same testcase passes on 3.5.4. . Characters are entering into a servlet, the servlet then returns from the app server a string that has extra characters from the original string. . Please see testcase for more details. Testcase and other customer doc is located in \\wasdoc0\pmrs\26517499000.Local fix There is no workaround available. Customer needs a test fix, then EFix as soon as possible.Problem summary be specified on the command line arguements was not being used t o parse the input parameters passed from the browser.This was ca using the input values to be read in as garbage by the servlet e ngine.Problem conclusion en placed at the top of the search list for the encoding to be u sed for parsing the input values from the browser like it was do ne in 3.5Temporary fix pq52029.zipComments
