addEJBModule fails when deploying an application using Module visibility setting of MODULE
 Technote (FAQ)

Problem
You developed an enterprise application archive (EAR) file using WebSphere® Studio Application Developer V4.0.3. When attempting to deploy the EAR file in WebSphere Application Server, using the Application Assembly Tool (AAT), you receive the following error:

WSVR0040E:addEJBModule failed.

Cause
Application servers that have a Module visibility setting of MODULE can hang during startup or run time.

Solution
Changing visibility mode from the default of MODULE to J2EE Application Visibility solves the problem.
