Problem |
You receive an "unauthorized" error in the browser when
trying to access WebSphere® Application Server content through the
Microsoft® IIS Web server. |
|
Cause |
If IIS has Basic authentication enabled, then it will
attempt to authenticate the user. If user is rejected, then any attempt to
access any WebSphere Application Server URI will fail as well. |
|
Solution |
If the users are to be authorized by the back-end
WebSphere Application Server, then you must enable Anonymous
authentication and disable Basic authentication within IIS.
This will ensure that IIS forwards the Authorization header to the
WebSphere Application Server plug-in, which in turn, will pass the same
header to the application server for user authentication. |
