Roles of the internal/embedded HTTP server
 Technote (FAQ)

Problem
What are the roles of the internal/embedded HTTP server?

Solution
The internal/embedded HTTP server serves two purposes:
1. It allows a programmer to test code running on the application server without installing an external HTTP server.
2. It lets the plug-in communicate with the application server via HTTP protocol.

The built-in HTTP server should not be accessed directly by end-users in production mode because it lacks some of the features that the external HTTP servers provide, like caching.
