PQ82771: WebSphere Application Server v 4 - Different OS cross platform supported or not supported.

APAR status
Closed as documentation error.

Error description
Infocenter on WAS 4.0.x. needs to be investigated. Redbooks
indicate that horizontal cloning is not supported across
multiple OS platform and infocenter says it is supported.
Please investigate and make the necessary corrections so
that this area is clear to our customers.
The horizontal cloning across different OSs documented in v4
Admin Handbook indicates in 17.2.3 that it is not supported.
However, in the v4 InfoCenter section:
7.2.4.7:"Creating clones on machines with different WebSphere
installation directories or operating systems" seems to indicate
that it is supported.
Level3 SM code team indicates that horizontal clones on
different OS were never supported

****************************************************************
The Redbook and InfoCenter have conflicting information.
Research needs to be done to make sure that horizontal cloning
across multiple OS is not supported and then update the
InfoCenter accordingly.
