APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Customer is encountering the reported problem because the plugin to send back the appropriate return code to the webserver. Problem with custom defined error pages that areconfigured with the appserver. It seems this is working fine whenappserver is running. They are facing problem when the default server (appserver) is stopped. Insteadof getting custom error page, they are getting "Page cannot be displayed" message.(The usual message when you try to access the webserver while it is stopped:Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All WebSphere Application Server users * * using the Netcape 3.6 or Iplanet plugin. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When requesting a WebSphere resource * * when the appserver is not started * * the generic 404 error page is * * displayed instead of an error * * 500 page. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When the appserver is not started the plugin fails to send back the correct error code to the webserver.Problem conclusion Modifed the NS plugin to return the correct error code back to the webserver so that Error 500 is displayed in the browser.Temporary fix Comments
