Key clue to identify this problem would be error messages
related to regeneration of the plugin file when a node is
offline. These error messages may be found in tracefile,
native.trace, and activity.log.
Problem conclusion
Before invoking methods on the remote node, a check is made to
see that it is active via call to node.getCurrentState() and
check to see that it is ActiveObjectStatus.RUNNING.- if not,
just return null and skip the remote call.
