PQ73281: FORWARD SLASHES IN THE SECURITY SERVER ID RESULT IN THE ERROR SECJ0055A AND 'INVALID USER REGISTRY EXCEPTION.'

APAR status
Closed as Permanent restriction.

Error description
When the customer tries to switch to a Security Server ID that
contains forward slashes in it, the customer receives the error
SECJ0055A and 'invalid user registry exception.'
.
The problem only occurs with user names that contain forward
slashes.
Local fix
If forward slashes in the names are required, then there is no
workaround. Names without forward slashes work however, so if
forward slashes are not required, then the workaround is to use
names that don't contain forward slashes.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Using a security name with forward *
* slash may result in authentication *
*                      failure.                                *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
A login ID start with or without a realm. If a login ID starts
with a realm, a forward slash is used as a delimiter between
the realm and the user's name. If a user's name contains one or
more forward slashes, all characters before the first forward
slash are assumed to be the realm.
Problem conclusion
For backwards compatibility, WebSphere needs to support the
forward slash as a delimeter. This restricts the use of a
forward slash within a user's name.
