APAR status Closed as documentation error. Error description Need to add information to the following page in the WebSphere version 4.0 InfoCenter(Section 9.3): . http://www-3.ibm.com/software/webservers/appserv/doc/v40/ae/info center/was/0903.html . The best place to add this is after the following paragraph that already exists on the page: . "The performance servlet is deployed exactly as any other servlet. To use it, deploy the servlet on a single application server instance within the domain. After the servlet is deployed, it can be invoked to retrieve performance data for the entire domain. The default URL for invoking performance servlet is http://host_x/wasPerfTool/servlet/perfservlet (replace host_x with the right hostname)." . Add the following lines: . When deploying PerfServletApp.ear when security is enalbed, the security role named perfAdminRole can not be assigned to "Everyone". Doing so will cause UNAUTHENTICATED errors in the Administrator's console. A protected EJB is part of the application, so a credential is necessary for authentication.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of WebSphere Application Server * * Version 4.x InfoCenter who want to * * develop their own performace * * monitoring tools by using the * * performance servlet. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The documentation in article 9.3 of * * the InfoCenter was not explicit when * * describing how to deploy the * * perfServletApp.ear file when security * * is enabled. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The content did not say that the security role named perfAdminRole cannot be assigned to "Everyone."Problem conclusion Close this APAR as a documentation change.
