 A fix is available

4.0.7: WebSphere Application Server Version 4.0 Fix Pack 7

APAR status
Closed as program error.

Error description
When adding a path in the JVM bootclasspath that includes a
space, the path is truncated w/no space after hitting apply.

For example, C:\WebSphere\AppServer\WAS 40

When you hit the <Apply> button, you get back
C:\WebSphere\AppServer\WAS40. It does not matter where the
space is located, after hitting apply the path is truncated to
not include the space.
Local fix
Make the change in wscp or xmlconfig, and ensure no one edits
the JVM Bootclasspath in the console.

****************************************************************
Users could not add spaces to the JVM boot classpath through the
Admin GUI although they could do so through WSCP. If spaces
were already in the boot classpath, they would disappear if the
user modified any of the other JVM Settings.
Problem conclusion
The JVMSettingsPanel.java file was modified so that spaces
within the boot classpath are not automatically removed.
Temporary fix
Spaces in the boot classpath will now be kept in tact when
using the console. All paths with spaces, however, should be
put into quotes.
