Error description
WebSphere fails to handle post requests when the post data is s
ent in time intervals greater than the connection timeout.
WebSphere needs to handle this situation and return the correct
status code.The plugin also needs to be modified slightly to lim
it the possibility of sending this type of request to the applic
ation server. The plugin change was addressed in APAR PQ70037.

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
WebSphere returns a http status code of 500 when the connection
times out during the reading of POST data. Per the HTTP
Specification, WebSphere should return an http status code
of 408 to indicate a timeout versus an internal status error.
Problem conclusion
Modified WebSphere's transport code to return
"HTTP/1.1 408 Connection timed out while reading request"
when the connection times out before the request can be
sent to the application server.
