APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Solaris 5.8, was 40ae buiil a0131.07, admin.config maps the default lsdPort to com.ibm.ejs.s.adminServer.lsdPort=10003 Problem: $WAS_HOME/bin/wscp.sh wscp> PmiService enableData /Node:xxxxxx/ApplicationServer:yyyyy / -dd {JVMRuntimeModule} will return a NMSV0602E: Naming service unavailable error. If lsdPort=900 no problem at allLocal fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All WebSphere Application Server 4.0.1 users * * of the wscp PmiService command. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: PmiService in wscp uses hard-coded * * port 900. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The PmiService command handler in wscp uses different code to get an initial context than the rest of wscp. This initial context code uses the hard-coded port "900" when getting the initial context -- this means that any unix installation that has changed the bootstrap port so that they can run non-root will see an error if they try to use the PmiService wscp command. There is no work-around for this problem, other than running as root and using port 900.Problem conclusion This problem had already been fixed by defect 111013, which will go out with the next PTF (4.0.2). The PmiService command handler code is changed to use the common initial context code for wscp. We won't actually drop any new code for this APAR, since the fix is already in the service stream.Temporary fix I have supplied L2 with a candidate e-fix. I put it on wasdoc0\apars\PQ55597.Comments
