PQ56389: LOST REQUESTS WHILE APPSERVER BEING STOPPED | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description In a Model clone environment, useing "stop" to stop an appserver results some requests to be lost while the server is being stopp Using "Force Stop" does not result in new requests being lost but the existing requests that are being processed may be lost CU would like to use "Stop" to close all resources gracefully without losing any new requests.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server with client * * applications. Error 404 may be seen when * * the clone server is stopped. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Contained components within app server * * were being stopped before app server * * was stopped leaving a window open where * * http requests could still come to app * * server but no underlying component to * * service them. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When clients (e.g., browsers) are being handled by multiple clones and one of the clones is shutdown via "Stop", then some client(s) may see a 404 (Not Found) response. This condition is transient, i.e., after a short period, no more 404 responses are seen but this behavior is not consistent with seamless failover.Problem conclusion A code error in ActiveEJBServer.java was corrected.Temporary fix Comments
