![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description In the product.xml file is the error message -1. Per the product.xml file uninstalled PQ62471 then reinstalled the efix successfully. In the product.xml was the following message: /opt/WebSphere/AppServer/eFix/PQ62471/PQ62471_eFix_b <errorMessage> -1 errors were noted <errorMessage>Local fix Error message does not affect the performance of the eFix.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All WebSphere Application Server 4.0.X AE * * and AEs users installing a Fix or FixPak. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a Fix or FixPak is installed, then * * removed, then installed again, the * * product.xml file will show * * "-1 errors were noted". * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When a Fix or FixPak is installed then removed, then installed again the product.xml file will show that there are -1 errors. However, the Fix or FixPak was installed successfully the product.xml file depicts that there was a problem. Below is an excerpt from the product.xml: <event> <sqlTime>2003/03/11 11:26:40 </ sqlTime> <description>Test eFix</description> <type>eFix</type> . . . <startingVersion>4.0.4</startingVersion> <endingVersion>4.0.4</endingVersion> <source>D:/Download/efixes/PQTest_eFix.jar</source> <status>Successful</status> <errorMessage>-1 errors were noted</errorMessage> <apar>PQTest</apar> <pmr>n/a</pmr> <developer>Jay</developer> < /event> The logs show that no error was thrown but the XML file says there are -1 errors.Problem conclusion There was a small change needed in the code. If the installer determined that a Fix or FixPak had a backup jar file in the backup directory then it would subtract 1 (one) from the error count. The "-1 errors were noted" can be ignored, it is harmless. However, if the user does not want to see this message then they can simply delete their old backup jar file before reinstalling the Fix or FixPak.Temporary fix Comments
