Error description This is a serviceability improvement, a new property, AgedTimeout has been added to the JDBC Connection pool.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All WebSphere Application Server users who * * use JDBC Connection pooling * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Customers wanted the ability to age * * connection out of the pool. So in the * * case of a firewall timeout, or regular * * scheduled DB maintenance, the * * connections in the pool could be * * removed. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The best way to provide this enhancement was to add an AgedTimeout parameter to the DataSource, this timeout will make the connections in the pool be removed, even below the minimum connection pool size, if they are -older' than the timeout value.Problem conclusion This solution addresses the customer problems.Temporary fix Comments
