![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description The PluginCfgGenerator thread will overlay manual edits to the plugin-cfg.xml if the parameters entered are not recognized. For example VHostMatchingCompat=true is a valid parameter that was supplied by the HTTP Plugin development team via a fix. The neccessary modification have not been made to the PluginCfgGenerator thread to recognize and perist this new variableLocal fix Increase the Refresh interval so that the manual edit stays around longer; However you can no longer regen changes you do wnat.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server v4.0 users * * who are attempting to preserve manually * * added global plugin-cfg.xml configuration * * attributes during the regeneration of the * * WebSphere plugin-cfg.xml file. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Users may add global configuration * * parameters to the Config tag in the * * plugin-cfg.xml file. When the plugin * * configuration is regenerated, the * * manual changes to plugin-cfg.xml will * * be overwritten. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The WebSphere Plugins component constantly adds new global configuration attributes. The Plugins component reads the new configuration values from the plugin-cfg.xml file which must be manually edited by the user. The user will make the edits to the Config element of the plugin-cfg.xml file. However, regeneration of the plugin-cfg.xml file by WebSphere will overwrite the changes the user has made to the Config element. The only Config element attributes preserved during this process are a static list of predefined attributes.Problem conclusion The PlugenRegen process will now transfer all attributes manually added by the user to the new Config element tag. Now the Plugin component can add an infinite amount of attributes and the Engine's regeneration of the plugin-cfg.xml file will always preserve the global attributes specified on the Config tag.Temporary fix Comments
