APAR status
Closed as program error.

Error description
The cause of the error is the exception is occurring in the
check_access hook of mod_ibm_ssl due to a NULL pointer.
At the time of the exception, IHS is processing a request so
this pointer should have contained a valid value. Other
values in the related control block indicate that the
connection to the client may have been closed. It is possible
IHS had somehow had the connection closed while in the
process of handling the request.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The plugin sends an incorrect return *

* Web server to crash in the IBM HTTP *
*                      Server SSL Module.                      *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
The IBM HTTP Server plugin returns the wrong return code to the
Web server when an early client close occurs. The plugin should
return DONE to the IBM HTTP Server, indicating that there is
nothing more for the Web server to do. Returning anything other
than DONE tells the Web server there is more work to do which
leads to code being run that did not need to be executed. This
extra processing was causing the IBM HTTP Server SSL module to
segfault.
Problem conclusion
The IBM HTTP Server ( Apache ) plugin was modified to return
DONE when an early client close occurs.
