APAR status Closed as unreproducible in next release. Error description During a custom WAS V4 install on Win2k, if you change the DB2 install directory on the PRODUCT DIRECTORY panel and you click NEXT to go to the next panel and then go back to the previous PRODUCT DIRECTORY panel, you will see that the changes made to the DB2 install directory are no longer there. The DB2 install directory is back to its default value. The problem is only wit the DB2 directory, WAS or IHS directory changes are reflected on the refreshed panel. The DATABASE OPTIONS panel has the same problem. The INSTALL OPTION SELECTED panel (seen just before installation shows the modified directory for DB2 and it is installed in the modified DB2 destination directory.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server users of 4.0 * * and installing with DB2. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: During a WAS 4.0 AE install on Windows * * (NT and 2000) if the DB2 install * * directory is changed to something other * * than the default, click next, then the * * back button, the DB2 install directory * * gets set back to the default. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Base install problems cannot be resolved unless a new CD is sent out for the product. No CD refresh is currently planned for 4.0. Problems such as this are usually corrected in a future release. In this case, the database panels have been removed from the install, so this won't be a problem in the next release. To expand upon the problem seen at 4.0: If the DB2 directory is changed from the default C:\SQLLIB to something different (ie: C:\DB2\SQLLIB) then click the "next" button to go to the next panel. Then if the back button is clicked, the DB2 install directory will be set back to the default C:\SQLLIB. The db name and id and password values remain in tact, it's just the db2 install directory that loses it's value.Problem conclusion Temporary fix Comments
