Unable to access non-SSL requests on Port 80, from a Web browser or client, after adding a "new" application that uses SSL within WebSphere Application Server
 Technote (FAQ)

Problem
Unable to access non-SSL requests on Port 80, from a Web browser or client, after adding a "new" application that uses SSL within WebSphere® Application Server. In the native.log file, error messages might be seen with failures to initialize the GSKit.

Solution
Update the System path variable with the location of the file gsk5ssl.dll. In most cases the file will be found in c:\Gskit5\ibm\gsk5\lib. Therefore, add that directory path to the system path and reboot the machine.

The other option to avoid having to add this path by hand is to install IBM® HTTP Server which will add the path correctly for you.
