Problem |
The uninstallation program for WebSphere Application
Server Advanced Edition might fail to
uninstall the product. |

Solution |
Complete the following steps for the appropriate platform
to uninstall the Advanced Edition manually:
AIX:
1. At a command prompt, enter the following commands:
cd WASROOT
rm -rf *
cd /usr/lpp
rm -rf IBMWebAS*
2. Run smit and uninstall the IBMWebAS packages to do a final cleanup.
3. Enter the command: cd /usr/bin
4. Open an editor on the jitk.db file and remove all entries pertaining
to WebSphere 4.0.x.
HP-UX:
1. At a command prompt, enter the following commands:
cd WASROOT
rm -rf *
cd /var/adm/sw/products
rm -rf IBMWebAS*
cd /usr/bin
2. Open an editor on the jitk.db file and remove all entries pertaining
to WebSphere 4.0.x.
Linux platforms:
1. At a command prompt, enter the following commands:
cd WASROOT
rm -rf *
cd /usr/bin
2. Open an editor on the jitk.db file and remove all entries pertaining
to WebSphere 4.0.x.
Solaris:
1. At a command prompt, enter the following commands:
cd WASROOT
rm -rf *
cd /var/sadm/spool
rm -rf WAS*
cd /var/sadm/pkg
rm -rf WAS*
cd /usr/bin
2. Open an editor on the jitk.db file and remove all entries pertaining
to WebSphere Application Server Version 4.0.x.
Windows NT, Windows 2000:
1. Stop the WebSphere Application Server Advanced Edition administrative
service.
2. Stop any Web servers that you have running.
3. At a command prompt, enter regedit to start the regedit.exe file.
4. In the Registry Editor:
a. Open the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
and then remove ConfigDB2 and WAS Startup.
b. Delete the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\IBM WS AdminServer
4.0. c. Delete the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\IBM\WebSphereApplication Server\.
5. Delete the directory where WebSphere was installed (for example,
c:\websphere\appserver). If you are not able to delete the WebSphere
directory, reboot
the computer, and remove the directory. |
