PQ68618: WEBSPHERE INSTALLER UPDATES IIS REGISTRY EVEN WHEN IIS IS NOT BEING INSTALLED.

APAR status
Closed as suggestion for future release.

Error description
When a customer chooses to install two WebSphere domains on
Windows, one server by IHS and the other by IIS, the IIS
registry gets overwritten even when IIS is not chosen
on the second install.
.
The registry must be updated manually:
.
Add the variable Plugin Config to the registry under the path
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> IBM -> WebSphere Application
Server -> 4.0.
Set the value for this variable to the location of the
plugin-cfg.xml file.
Local fix
Manual regedit required.
Problem summary Problem conclusion Temporary fix Comments
This is not a defect in WebSphere Application Server. It is
part of the steps that are needed to configure a system to work
with co-existence. When installing a new instance of WAS 4.0
on a machine that already has an existing installation of
WebSphere 4.0, the registry folder will be updated with the new
4.0 installation info.
