![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description THE USERPROFILE EXAMPLE PROVIDED IN INFOCENTER DOES NOT WORK WITH THE WAY USERPROFILE.XML IS AVAILABLE. THE SAMPLE XML FILE CONTAINS SPACES IN THE TAGS. THESE SPACES MAKING THE USERPROFILE TO FAIL IN DEPLOYMENT AND EXECUTION. WORKAROUND IS TO REMOVE THE SPACES IN XML FILE.Local fix REMOVING SPACES IN THE TAG WORKS PROPERLY.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server -- User * * Profile Manager Users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Userprofile Exceptions are being * * thrown when the UserProfileManager is * * accessed from a servlet/jsp. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The UserProfile Manager configuration is picked up from a file titled userprofile.xml in the WebSphere -Root/properties directory. In 4.0 this file needs to be manually created and if some of the attributes have spaces around in them, the UserProfile Initialization fails.Problem conclusion The problem has been fixed by trimming certain values that are picked up from the userprofile.xml file by the UserProfileManager during initialization.Temporary fix Comments
