Unable to start JSSE debug facility using WSAD V5.0.0 or V5.0.1 for WTE V4.0.4 using JVM argument or System Property with WebSphere administrative interface
 Technote (FAQ)

Problem
You cannot start the Java™ Secure Socket Extension (JSSE) debug facility for WebSphere® Studio Application Developer V5.0.0 or V5.0.1 for the WebSphere Test Environment V4.0.4 when you use the WebSphere administrative console.

Cause
The required debug setting of javax.net.debug with the value of true is not passed to the Java Virtual Machine (JVM™) when you use the WebSphere administrative console.

Solution
When using WSAD V5.0.0 or V5.0.1 for WTE V4.0.4, you must use the System Property settings in WebSphere Studio Application Developer, instead of using the WebSphere administrative console. To set this option, perform the following steps:
  1. Change to the J2EE perspective in WebSphere Studio Application Developer.

  2. In the left pane, under Servers, double-click the first server icon.

  3. At the bottom of the right pane, click on the Environment tab.

  4. Under System Properties, add javax.net.debug with a value of true.

  5. Start the WebSphere Test Environment server.
