APAR status Closed as documentation error. Error description There is a Redbook that discusses the details of the bootstrap classloader, however the documentation does not explain when a resource provider gets loaded. The quoted text below is from the Redbook. Perhaps something like it, and/or the text following it can be placed in the documentations discussion of bootstrap classloader. "The bootstrap classloader is also responsible for loading of the resources, such as database resources, used by the application server." However, resource provider classes will only be loaded into a server if an application module which is installed on that server has a reference to a resource that is associated with that provider. Also, a user has only to specify the directory name of Resource Drivers instead of jar files name on AdminConsole's Resource MenuLocal fix Customer is aware of the above.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: The users of WebSphere Application Server. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Bootstrap classloader only loads * * resource provider when it is * * referenced by an application module. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The run-time environment of WebSphere Application Server uses the following classloaders to find and load new classes for an application in the following order: .
