![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Customer applied the latest Cumulative plug-in fix for WebSphere 4.0, dated Dec 9, 2003 & some URI stopped to be served by WebSphere Application Server. . Customer configured a third-party module in IHS 2.0.42.2 that had translate_name hook called before WebSphere plug-in's translate_name hook. Therefore the request never passed to plug-in & back-end Application Servers. . We need to change WebSphere plug-in code for IHS 2.0.42.2 so that no other translate_name hook is called before WebSphere plug-in's. . The same problem is very likely in IHS 2.0.42.2 & IHS 2.0.47 plug-ins for WebSphere 4.0/5.0/5.1.Local fix A possible workaround is to check the httpd.conf file, and do not let other third-party module handle the request before WebSphere plug-in. In this case our WebSphere plug-in will handle the request, if needed (a rule for this request is present in the plugin-cfg.xml)Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of Websphere plug-in for IHS/Apache * * 2.0.x. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Customer could not access the * * applications through IHS/plug-in. * * Plug-in trace showed that the * * requests were not passed to plug-in * * by the webserver. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Could not access application through IHS/plug-in.Problem conclusion The problem could be caused by a translate_name hook misuse from a third-party module that rewrites URLs rather than translates URLs. While we have no control of any third-party modules, we made the change so that the plug-in's translate_name hook will run first, thus there is no way for another module to prevent the plug-in's hook from running.Temporary fix ZE Fix Error PQ86603 04/04/15Comments
