Problem |
When accessing a Web site with HTTP Secure Sockets Layer
(HTTPS), a Security Alert box pops up with the message "The name on the
security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the
site". |

Cause |
Using an IP address or machine shortname in the URL.

Solution |
- Close the browser.
- Reopen the browser.
- Type in the URL using the Fully Qualified Domain Name of the server.
For example,
The following URLs will produce the alert:
https://9.3.162.190/IBM/logon.html
https://myMachine/IBM/logon.html |
