WAS_Security_03-14-2003_4.0.6-4.0.5-4.0.4-4.0.3-4.0.2-4.0.1_JCE_ cumulative_Fix.jar was provided to customer and problem remained after customer applied the fix. The jar files in the fix were not replacing the original jar files on the customer system. The jar files were manually copied over and resolved the problemLocal fix The jar files were manually copied over and solved the problem.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server 4.0 Advanced * * and Single Server editions installing a Fix * * on UNIX that was built with the 1.41 version * * of the Update Installer. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The macro was not being resolved when * * a Fix was trying to determine the * * value of the $JAVA_HOME environment * * variable. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** If the developer built a Fix that required a change to be made to a file in the $JAVA_HOME directory the macro resolution would not resolve the value for JAVA_HOME from the setupCmdLine.sh file correctly. The value of JAVA_HOME is typically set to $WAS_HOME/java. This would cause a Fix to be applied to the wrong location. During the Fix installation, the installer would assume that $WAS_HOME was a directory not an environment variable. Therefore the enviromnent variable was not being replaced with the actual value.Problem conclusion The Installer was fixed to be case insensitive during the macro resolution stage, and also to replace the value of the environment variable with the actual value.Temporary fix Comments
