Required patches for IHS SSL on Sun

There are required prerequisite patches for IHS SSL to run on Solaris. You can obtain these patches from the Sun Web site, http://sunsolve.sun.com. Select patchfinder and a Web page appears where you can type in the patch number. This process displays information about the patch and allows you to download.

To run IHS and SSL, you need the following patches, based on the Solaris OS version:

Separate Download of LDAP Client is Not Required on Solaris

A separate download of the LDAP Client is no longer required on Solaris, for this release.

Ldap.key.label Directive Does Not Work on Solaris

The ldap.key.label directive does not work with this IHS release on Solaris. As a workaround, set the default key in the key database to the desired label.

Redhat V7.0 and V7.1 SSL Workaround

To run IBM HTTP Server with SSL, or IKEYMAN with SSL on Redhat V7.0 and V7.1, set the following environment variable:

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2
.

This variable is already set in the apachectl and IKEYMAN scripts when on a Redhat 7.0 or 7.1 machine. If you start IKEYMAN or the IBM HTTP Server with these scripts, you do not need to set this environment variable. If you start the server with the HTTPD command, or start IKEYMAN with the gsk5ikm command, you need to set this particular variable before executing these commands so IHS and IKEYMAN work properly.

Certificate Revocation List (CRL) is Not Supported on HP
