Description/symptom of problem: When a transaction is distributed acorss more than 1 server, rollbackOnly will only be propogated from the subordinate server to the superior server, if the superior server is at WebSphere Application Server 5.1.0 or greater. This fix provides support for WebSphere Application Servers at 4.0.x (with PQ88648 applied) and at 5.0.x (with PQ89426 applied). This fix is effective only when the earlier release is running in interoperabilityonly mode. Directions to apply fix: NOTE: YOU MUST FIRST DOWNLOAD THE FIX INSTALLER TOOL IN ORDER TO INSTALL A FIX. The Fix Installer can be downloaded from the following link: http://www-3.ibm.com/software/webservers/appserv/support/index.html 1) Create temporary "fix" directory to store the jar file: UNIX: /tmp/WebSphere/fix Windows: c:\temp\WebSphere\fix 2) Copy jar file to the directory 3) Shutdown WebSphere 4) Follow the Fix installation instructions that are packaged with the Fix Installer on how to install the Fix. 5) Restart WebSphere 6) The temp directory may be removed but the jar file should be saved. Do not remove any files created and stored in the /WebSphere/AppServer/fix/ directories. These files are required if a fix is to be removed.
