Fix (APAR): PQ80853 Status: Fix Release: 5.0.2.1,5.0.2,5.0.1,5.0.0 Operating System: All Supersedes Fixes: CMVC Defect: PQ80853 Byte size of APAR: 2542 Date: 2003-11-21 Abstract: This fixes the problem where if 4.0.x Default Server had URLRewriting enabled and they migrate to 5.0.x, adminconsole no longer runs properly. Description/symptom of problem: If a customer chooses the migrate option during a 5.0.x install and their 4.0.x Default Server was set to use URLRewriting their adminconsole will no longer run. This happens because the 5.0.x adminconsole requires Cookies as its Session mechanism. This problem does not occur when migrating to 5.1.x. Directions to apply fix: NOTE: YOU MUST FIRST DOWNLOAD THE UPDATE INSTALLER TOOL IN ORDER TO INSTALL A FIX. The Fix Installer can be downloaded from the following link: http://www-3.ibm.com/software/webservers/appserv/support/index.html 1) Create temporary "fix" directory to store the jar file: UNIX: /tmp/WebSphere/fix Windows: c:\temp\WebSphere\fix 2) Copy jar file to the directory 3) Shutdown WebSphere 4) Follow the Fix installation instructions that are packaged with the Fix Installer on how to install the Fix. 5) Restart WebSphere 6) The temp directory may be removed. Directions to remove fix: NOTE: FIXES MUST BE REMOVED IN THE ORDER THEY WERE APPLIED. DO NOT REMOVE A FIX UNLESS ALL FIXES APPLIED AFTER IT HAVE FIRST BEEN REMOVED. YOU MAY REAPPLY ANY REMOVED FIX. Steps to run this .jacl script: 1. CD to the ${WAS_INSTALL_ROOT}/bin directory. 2. Server running( type the following command ): >wsadmin -f updateAdminconsole.jacl 3. Server stopped( type the following command ): >wsadmin -conntype NONE -f updateAdminconsole.jacl 4. Start/Restart the server. 5. You should now be able to run your adminconsole application.
