Fix (APAR): PQ76488 Status: Fix Release: 5.0.2 Operating System: All Supersedes Fixes: None CMVC Defect: PQ76488 Byte size of APAR: 96,888 Date: 07/25/03 PROBLEM SUMMARY: In a deployed environment where there are one or more WebSphere application servers and WorkLoadManager is enabled, if a network adapter becomes disconnected or has a hardware failure, opCenter detects that all application servers on that node are unavailable. However, even when the network adapter is reconnected/replaced, OpCenter fails to detect and change the state of those application servers to available. The end result is PMI metric data is not collected and submitted to WorkLoad Manager. This will cause inaccurate work load balancing among the application servers in the deployed environment. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: In order to ensure that OpCenter correctly updates the states of application servers on a node that has experienced a disconnected network adapter, interim fix PQ74688 should be applied.
