Abstract:  Enterprise Edition administrative console extensions are missing

Description/symptom of problem:  You can lose the Enterprise Edition administrative console 
extensions when you add your node to a Network Deployment 
cell and later remove the node. The symptom you will see is 
the admin console will run correctly, but you won't see the 
Enterprise Edition resources or services.

Directions to apply fix:  

NOTE:  YOU MUST FIRST DOWNLOAD THE FIX INSTALLER TOOL IN ORDER TO INSTALL A FIX.
       The Fix Installer can be downloaded from the following link:
       http://www-3.ibm.com/software/webservers/appserv/support/index.html

1) Create temporary "fix" directory to store the jar file:
             UNIX: /tmp/WebSphere/fix
          Windows: c:\temp\WebSphere\fix

2) Copy jar file to the directory

3) Shutdown WebSphere

4) Follow the Fix installation instructions that are packaged with the Fix Installer on how to install the Fix.

5) Change directory to the WAS_HOME/bin directory.

6) Run the appropriate reinstallPMEConsole script (.bat 
or .sh) for your operating system. 

7) Restart WebSphere

8) The temp directory may be removed but the jar file should be saved.  Do not remove 
   any files created and stored in the <WASHOME>/WebSphere/AppServer/fix/<fix> directories.
   These files are required if a fix is to be removed.

Directions to remove fix:  Since this fix only adds new script files to the 
WAS_HOME/bin directory, you do not need to shutdown 
WebSphere to remove the fix.

1) Follow the instructions that are packaged with the Fix 
Installer on how to uninstall the Fix.


Directions to re-apply fix:  
1) Shutdown WebSphere

2) Follow the Fix instructions that are packaged with the Fix Installer on how to uninstall and reinstall the Fix.

3) Restart WebSphere



Additional Information:  This fix does not fix existing WebSphere code. Instead, it 
provides workarounds that allow you to recover the 
Enterprise Edition administrative console extensions. 
Simply installing the fix will not correct the problem. The 
user must take action as described in the directions 
section of this fix.
