Description/symptom of problem: PM69940 resolves the following problem: ERROR DESCRIPTION: An IllegalArgumentException might be thrown by SOAPElement.addTextNode(String text) if text is null. LOCAL FIX: PROBLEM SUMMARY USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application Server PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: SOAPElement.addTextNode(String text) might throw an unexpected IllegalArgumentException if the text argument is null. RECOMMENDATION: Install a fixpack containing this APAR. APAR PM63658 changed the behavior of SOAPElement.addTextNode(String text) to throw an IllegalArgumentException if passed a null argument. Some existing applications might be adversely affected by this change in behavior. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: This apar reverts behavior to what it was prior to PM63658. The PM63658 behavior was included in 8.5.0.0 and so PM63658 will not be found for the 8.5 version. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.0.0.5 and 8.5.0.1.
