Variable returns after saving and revisiting the panel. Description/symptom of problem: PK59122 resolves the following problem: ERROR DESCRIPTION: Customer is not able to delete WebSphere variables using the administrative console. This is attempted by navigating to Environment ==> WebSphere Variables. This process appears to work, but when the changes are saved, no update is made and the variables reappear in the display. This fails when selecting 'All scopes' and when selecting a specific scope. LOCAL FIX: Rename the variable to some other name PROBLEM SUMMARY USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server V6.1 PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Environement -> WebSphere Variables cannot be deleted using the Administrative Console. Variable returns after saving and revisiting the panel. RECOMMENDATION: None In the Administrative Console -> Environment -> WebSphere Variables, selecting variable(s) and clicking Delete appears to work. However, after a Save and revisiting the panel, the variable returns. This is because the delete action only deletes the variable from the form and not the workspace. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: Code changes have been made to update the workspace so that the variable gets deleted correctly. APAR PK57844 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.15 of WebSphere Application Server V6.1.
