Abstract:  The 6.1 Refresh (6.1.0.11) full install is missing the enabling iFixes needed to install the Web Services Feature Pack.

Description/symptom of problem:  
 
PK55550 resolves the following problem:

ERROR DESCRIPTION:                                              
If WebSphere Application Server 6.1 for i5/OS is installed      
using the 6.1 Refresh (6.1.0.11) full intstall image, there is  
a problem installing the Web Services Feature Pack.             
                                                                
The Web Services Feature Pack install will fail with the        
following error:                                                
Process,                                                        
com.ibm.ws.install.ni.ismp.actions.WSFEPCheckEnablingIfixAction,
err, Unable to locate the required Base Enablement Ifix.        
                                                                
This problem does not exist if the WebSphere Application        
Server for i5/OS was installed using the original               
6.1.0.0 full install image.

PROBLEM SUMMARY

USERS AFFECTED:
IBM WebSphere Application Server for i5/OS
users who installed with the 6.1 Refresh
(6.1.0.11), who have not upgraded to
6.1.0.13 or higher, and who want to
install the Web Services Feature Pack.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The 6.1 Refresh (6.1.0.11) full
install is missing the enabling
iFixes needed to install the Web
Services Feature Pack.

RECOMMENDATION:
None

The 6.1 Refresh (6.1.0.11) full install is missing the
enabling iFixes needed to install the Web Services Feature Pack.

The Web Services Feature Pack will fail with the following
error:

com.ibm.ws.install.ni.ismp.actions.WSFEPCheckEnablingIfixAction,


If WebSphere Application Server 6.1 for i5/OS was installed
with the original install image (6.1.0.0) and upgraded to
6.1.0.11 via fix pack, then this problem does not exist.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:                                             
The iFix for this defect will install the missing enabling      
iFixes needed to install the Web Services Feature Pack.         
Upgrading to 6.1.0.13 or higher will also resolve the problem.  


Directions to apply fix:  
This fix applies to WebSphere Application Server 6.1 on i5/OS, Express, Base, and ND editions installed using the 6.1 Refresh (6.1.0.11) image.

<UPDI_HOME> = The Update Installer install location, default is /QIBM/ProdData/WebSphere/UpdateInstaller/V61/UPDI
<WAS_INSTALL_ROOT> = WebSphere Application Server install location, an example is /QIBM/ProdData/WebSphere/AppServer/V61/Express

1. Copy 6.1.0.11-WS-WAS-IFPK55550.pak file to <UPDI_HOME>/maintenance
2. End all servers assoicated with the WebSphere install.
3. From Qshell
  a. cd <UPDI_HOME>
  b. update -W product.location=<WAS_INSTALL_ROOT> -W maintenance.package=<UPDI_HOME>/maintenance/6.1.0.11-WS-WAS-IFPK55550.pak

Directions to remove fix:  
1. End all servers associated with the WebSphere install.
2. From Qshell
  a. cd <UPDI_HOME>
  b. update -W product.location=<WAS_INSTALL_ROOT> -W backup.package=6.1.0.11-WS-WAS-IFPK55550.pak -W update.type=uninstall
