Description/symptom of problem: PK33397 resolves the following problem: ERROR DESCRIPTION: CHKW2125E error message in WebSphere Application Server 6.1.X Deployment Manager WebSphere Application Server validation logic reporting an erroneous message. LOCAL FIX: n/a PROBLEM SUMMARY USERS AFFECTED: Users of WebSphere Application Server, version 6.1.0.0 through 6.1.0.5. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When running configuration validation for a WebSphere Application Server, the validation error message CHKW2125E is erroneously reported. RECOMMENDATION: None The symptom of this problem is the display of the error message CHKW2125E, from either display of validation results, from the administrative console, of from the administrative command line interface. The error message is generated by code that performs the validation of server cluster membership. The English message text for CHKW2125E is: CHKW2125E: The server [serverName], by its configuration, is set as a member of cluster [clusterName], but that cluster's configuration does not list the server as a member. Normally, the error message indicates an error between a server configuration document (server.xml) and a cluster configuration document (cluster.xml). This, in turn, usually indicates that the server configuration has become corrupted. However, in this case, the validation error message is incorrect -- the error message is being reported when there is no actual problem in the server configuration. Note that there are still cases where the validation error will be generated, and indicates an actual problem in the server configuration. If the CHKW2125E error is reported the server.xml and cluster.xml should be compared to determine if the cluster name associated with the server matches a configured cluster, and that the members of the cluster contain the server name. If the server is properly listed, then the validation is in error. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: A code change was integrated into WebSphere Application Server at service levels 6.1.0.7 and into the current release under development. Please refer to the recommended updates page for fixpack delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980 An ifix was prepared and is applicable to the GA level (6.1.0.0) and to the service pack levels up to and including 6.1.0.5.
