Fix (APAR): PK30110 Status: Fix Release: 6.0.2.11 Operating System: AIX,HP-UX,i5/OS,Linux,Linux pSeries,Linux Red Hat - pSeries,Linux zSeries,OS/390,OS/400,Solaris,Windows Supersedes Fixes: CMVC Defect: PK30110 Byte size of APAR: 136083 Date: 2007-03-21 Abstract: Applications containing the listed HTTP method types fail to deploy, generating an IWAE022E exception to the SystemErr log. Description/symptom of problem: PK30110 resolves the following problem: ERROR DESCRIPTION: The WebSphere Application Server, versions 6.0.x, more strictly checks the HTTP methods types (as specified for the Servlet specification version 2.4; see http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/web-app_2_4.xsd). This causes certain applications, specifically, those which contain a Web Module that use particular WebDAV or DeltaV HTTP method types, to fail to deploy. The prior APARs PQ98556, PK08719, and PK06273, added support for a number of the WebDAV and DeltaV HTTP method types, but did not add support for MKWORKSPACE, UPDATE, LABEL, MKACTIVITY, BIND, UNBIND, or REBIND. Applications containing Web Modules which use these HTTP method types will fail to deploy. The signature for this failure is an exception in the application server System Error log file, usually "SystemErr.log". The exception stack trace will begin with the following: [7/17/06 12:43:12:547 PDT] 0000001f SystemErr R AppDeploymentException: [null] com.ibm.etools.j2ee.commonarchivecore.exception.DeploymentDescri ptorLoad Exception: IWAE0022E Exception occurred loading deployment descriptor for module "[webModule].war" in EAR file "[EAR Path]" [7/17/06 12:43:12:562 PDT] 0000001f SystemErr R com.ibm.etools.j2ee.commonarchivecore.exception.DeploymentDescri ptorLoad Exception: IWAE0022E Exception occurred loading deployment descriptor for module "[webModule].war" in EAR file "[EAR PATH]" !Stack_trace_of_nested_exce! com.ibm.etools.j2ee.commonarchivecore.exception.DeploymentDescri ptorLoad Exception: WEB-INF/web.xml !Stack_trace_of_nested_exce! com.ibm.wtp.internal.emf.xml.util.FeatureValueConversionExceptio n: IWAE0014E Failed to convert [HTTP Method Type] to Enumeration. at com.ibm.wtp.internal.emf.xml.util.DefaultFeatureValueConverter. failedToConvert(DefaultFeatureValueConverter.java:264) In the actual stack trace, the values [webModule], [EAR PATH], and [HTTP Method Type] will be displayed as specific values, according to the customer's application and according to the particular HTTP Method type which is used. LOCAL FIX: none PROBLEM SUMMARY USERS AFFECTED: Users of WebSphere Application Server, versions 6.0.2.x, having applications that use the HTTP WebDAV and DeltaV HTTP method types MKWORKSPACE, UPDATE, LABEL, MKACTIVITY, BIND, UNBIND, or REBIND. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: This problem was fixed in IES (IBM Eclipse SDK) via the defect tracking entities RATLC01129066 and eclipse bugzilla 159481. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpacks 6.0.2.17 and 6.1.0.5.
