Fix (APAR): PI73401 Status: Fix Release: 9.0.0.2 Operating System: AIX,HP-UX,IBM i,Inspur K-UX,Linux,OS X,Solaris,Windows,iOS,z/OS Supersedes Fixes: CMVC Defect: xxxxxx Byte size of APAR: 393730 Date: 2016-12-13 Abstract: outofmemory seen when multiple users are logged-in in jsf portlet application Description/symptom of problem: PI73401 resolves the following problem: ERROR DESCRIPTION: Multiple users access the JSF Portlet application and after some time we see out of memory exceptions as JVM heap continues to grow LOCAL FIX: PROBLEM SUMMARY USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application Server PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: While running JSF portlet applications by many users, an OOM is seen and session data gets lost RECOMMENDATION: None When many users access JSF Portlet application concurrently, session data gets mixed up and lost. Also during peak usage, an OutofMemory error is encountered in the JVM heap which requires a JVM restart. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: Code was modified to correctly handle concurrent session data. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 9.0.0.3.
