Fix (APAR): PI51982 Status: Fix Release: 8.5.5.7 Operating System: AIX,HP-UX,IBM i,Linux,Solaris,Windows,iOS,z/OS Supersedes Fixes: CMVC Defect: xxxxxx Byte size of APAR: 8098315 Date: 2015-12-07 Abstract: liberty 8557 cannot rollback to liberty 8553 and below Description/symptom of problem: PI51982 resolves the following problem: ERROR DESCRIPTION: For Rollback of Liberty 8.5.5.7 to 8.5.5.3 using installation Manager customers will get the following error : java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.ibm.ws.install.InstallKernelFactory com.ibm.was.liberty.install.archive.runtimes.UnInstallArchiv eRun time.get InstalledESAs(UnInstallArchiveRuntime.java:206) LOCAL FIX: N>A PROBLEM SUMMARY USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty Profile - Install V8 and above PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Rollback fails from Liberty 8.5.5.7 to 8.5.5.3 and below RECOMMENDATION: None This was caused by missing setClassPath call from offering SU. When performing a Rollback, it requires an invoke of installKernel to uninstall archive runtime assets by SU. However, it failed because the required classpath was missing. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: Added the required setClassPath call in offering SU. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.8.
