Abstract:  crash in ap_scan_http_field_content with iFix ifph43122

Description/symptom of problem:  
PH44393 resolves the following problem:

ERROR DESCRIPTION:
Crash in ap_scan_http_field_content with ifix IFPH43122         
                                                                
9.0 only, n/a on z/OS.                                          

LOCAL FIX:

PROBLEM SUMMARY:

USERS AFFECTED:
 All users of IBM HTTP Server on distributed
platforms with ifix IFPH43122

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
IHS can crash in function
ap_scan_http_field_content() when
processing special characters in URLs
or
headers.

RECOMMENDATION:
None

A build/packaging error omitted the fix for PH43887 from the
interim fixes for PH43122.
New tests added for this issue during PH43887 did not catch the
omission.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
New interim fixes will be issued under PH44393. No fixpack is

Directions to apply fix:  
1) Stop IBM HTTP Server. AIX Only: run "slibclean" as root.
2) Backup your IBM HTTP Server installation directory
3) Extract this interim fix with your IBM HTTP Server installation as your working directory
4) Start IBM HTTP Server

Directions to remove fix:  
1) Stop IBM HTTP Server. AIX Only: run "slibclean" as root.
2) Restore earlier IBM HTTP Server installation root from backup. Or, extract a previous maintenance level archive install on top of current installation
2) Start IBM HTTP Server

Directions to re-apply fix:  
1) Stop IBM HTTP Server.
2) Follow the directions to apply the fix.
3) Restart IBM HTTP Server.
