Preparing to migrate a z/OS deployment manager using the zmmt command

Before you migrate a WebSphere® Application Server for z/OS® Version 7.0 or later node to Version 9.0, you must create Job Control Language (JCL) jobs (CNTL and DATA datasets) that you will run on z/OS during the actual migration. You can use the zmmt command to create jobs for migrating a deployment manager.

Procedure

  1. Print and complete the Specifying a z/OS deployment manager migration configuration in the zmmt command response file: Worksheet.
  2. Follow the instructions in Using the zmmt command to create migration definitions on z/OS.

    Use the values from your Specifying a z/OS deployment manager migration configuration in the zmmt command response file: Worksheet.

What to do next

  1. Follow the instructions in the BBOMDINS member of the CNTL dataset that you generated using the zmmt command.

    Read Migrating a z/OS deployment manager for details.

  2. After you migrate the deployment manager, use the WebSphere Application Server for z/OS Version 9.0 administrative console or scripting to administer it.
