Deleting gateway instances
Use this task to delete gateway instances using the administrative console.
About this task
You can delete a gateway instance by using the administrative
console as described in this task, or by using the deleteWSGWInstance command.
When you delete a gateway instance, the following associated resources
are also deleted:
- All gateway and proxy services deployed to the gateway instance are deleted.
- All target services deployed to any of the gateway services are deleted.
- All outbound services created when creating any of the gateway services by using the administrative console Create a new gateway service wizard are deleted.
Note: The WebSphere® Application Server
Version 5.1 gateway used filters for tasks such as logging
messages, transforming their contents or terminating an incoming request. When a Version 5.1 gateway that contained filters was migrated to Version 6, "StorageQueue" destinations were created to support
existing Version 5.1 gateway filters in the Version 6 environment. These destinations are not used in Version 7.0 or later, but they are not removed automatically when you delete
the associated gateway. For information about finding and removing these destinations manually, see
the corresponding troubleshooting
tip.
