Before you migrate a WebSphere® Application Server for z/OS® Versão 7.0 ou posterior node to Versão 9.0, you must create
Job Control Language (JCL) jobs (CNTL and DATA datasets) that you
will run on z/OS during the actual migration. You can use
the z/OS Migration Management Tool to create a migration
definition and upload the appropriate migration jobs. Learn how to
upload migration jobs to a target z/OS system
using the z/OS Migration Management Tool. Also learn how
to export the jobs for a migration definition to a directory on the
local file system using the z/OS Migration Management Tool.
Procedure
- Start the z/OS Migration Management Tool.
Read Starting the z/OS Migration Management Tool for more information.
- In the Migration Locations table, select the location of
the migration definition that you want to process.
- In the Migration Definitions table, select the migration
definition that you want to process.
- Click Process.
- On the Select Process Type panel, select the type of processing
that you want to perform on the migration definition.
- Click Next.
- Depending on the type of process that you selected, perform
one of the following actions:
- On the Upload Migration Definition panel, specify the necessary
upload information.
- In the Target z/OS system field, enter
the IP name or address of the z/OS system to which you want to
upload the migration jobs.
- In the User ID field, enter the user ID
that you want to use to log on to the FTP server on the target z/OS system.
- In the Password field, enter the password
for the user ID that you want to use to log on to the FTP server on
the target z/OS system.
- In the Server port field, enter the port
number of the FTP server on the target z/OS system.
- In the Timeout field, enter the number
of seconds that can elapse without any I/O operation completing before
the upload is stopped.
- If you want to allocate the target z/OS datasets,
select Allocate target z/OS datasets and complete
the two fields that are activated.
Note: If you are uploading the migration
jobs to a system different from the system on which you want to run
the jobs, you must target a volume that is shared by those systems.
- In the Volume field, enter the volume for
the target datasets.
- In the Unit field, enter the unit for the
target datasets.
- On the Export Migration Definition panel, specify the directory
to which you want to export migration jobs.
Tips: - Hover your cursor over a field for help information.
- Click Cancel to leave the process without
uploading or exporting the migration jobs.
- Click Finish.
