Running multiple application server versions

You can create an environment in which multiple versions of WebSphere® Application Server can run independently on the same system at the same time. A major consideration in coexistence is the avoidance of port conflicts.

[z/OS] Coexisting, as it applies to WebSphere Application Server products, involves multiple installations of WebSphere Application Server running independently on the same system at the same time. Multiple installations include multiple versions and multiple installations of one version. Coexistence also implies various combinations of Web server interaction.
