What you can do without sign-in

This topic introduces the collaboration center of IEHSc that are available either before or after signing in.

About this task

You can learn how to navigate and search in IEHSc by the various buttons on the toolbar.

Viewing topic content
Open the page of a topic by clicking the topic title in the contents tab of the navigation view.
You can find the topic breadcrumb, title, content, parent topic, and its related information on the page. See the following figure.

Viewing existing topic comment
  • If nobody has ever commented on the content of the page, you can see the following figure.

  • If there are comments, you can find all the comments added to this topic, with comment information related.
    • To expand or collapse comment list, click the expand button (the icon of expand) or thecollapse button (the icon of collapse) on the tool bar of the comment frame to expand or collapse all the comments.
    • To view the comment content, click the comment subject listed in the Threads column.
    • To view the URL of each comment, click Show Comment URL. You can copy the URL to the browser address field to view the comment.
    • To view comments by person, select the person's Display name on a comment in the comment frame. You can see all comments made by that person in the Collaboration tab.
    • To find the number of comments made in your browser's default language, see the number ahead of Comments on the tool bar of the comment frame.
    • To find comments made in languages other than your browser's default language, click More (the icon of More) for options.
      Note: Each plug-in or information center can have more than one locale that define its different language versions.
    • You can sort the order of comments by clicking any one of the column headings. See the following figure.

Comparing between different versions
You can click the box next to the version numbers, to choose two versions of the page you want to compare, and press Compare (the icon of Compare) to get the result. See the following figure.

Note: Before comparison, you can click the version links to find the page details of each version.
Index searching in IEHSc
You can search with index in the Index tab of the navigation view. See the following figure.

Searching in IEHSc
Enter a query in the search field at the top of the IEHSc window. And click Go to get the search results in the navigation view. See the following figure.
Note: You can enter query with prefix defined ahead, like userId: xxx@cn.ibm.com, nickname: aaa, time: 6/10/09, disposition: Unassigned, locale: en, to get results specified.
  • The search results include two parts, results in topics and results in comments. In the list of comments, the comments in the browser's default language come first.
  • To view the topic content of the searching results, click the titles listed in the results. You can see the query highlighted in the page.

Viewing hot topics in IEHSc
Open the Collaboration tab, and click the Show the hottest pages button. You can see the hot topics listed with their comment numbers. See the following figure.
