You can create and delete profiles, which are sets of files that define the runtime environment. At least one profile must exist to run the product.

the Profile Management Tool, system
commands, and profile concepts.

can create profiles using the Profile Management Tool or the manageprofiles command.
The Profile Management tool is unavailable. You
can use the manageprofiles QShell
script to create additional profiles. You can also use the IBM® Web Administration for IBM i graphical user interface to
create standalone application server profiles.
For the WebSphere Application Server, Network Deployment product, you can create any combination of profiles.
Non-root users can create their
own profiles so that they can manage their own application servers.
Typically, non-root users manage application servers for development
purposes.
You can delete profiles through the manageprofiles command or by other means if necessary. You might delete a profile if the configuration that you specified in the profile is not what you want.
