This topic explains how to install additional WebSphere Portal
nodes.

Complete the following steps to install additional WebSphere Portal
nodes:
- Run the installation of WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment.
- Run the profile creation manager and select Application Server as the
profile type.
- Install any necessary WebSphere Application Server fix packs.
- Run the installation of WebSphere Extended Deployment and install any
necessary fix packs.
- Run the installation of DB2 Administration Client.
- Catalog the Database node and WebSphere Portal database.
- Run the installation of WebSphere Portal.
- Select custom installation and install WebSphere Portal according to the
preceding Installing the WebSphere Portal node instructions.
- Install all new nodes as secondary nodes. Modify the wpconfig.properties file
if the program does not allow you to install the new nodes as secondary nodes.
- SeeInstalling WebSphere Portal to connect this new WebSphere
Portal installation to the existing Websphere Portal database.
- Run the WPSConfigconnect-database command to associate the new
installation of WebSphere Portal with previously installed databases.
- Federate the WebSphere Portal node to the Deployment Manager. Do not use
the includeapps options.
- Run the WPSConfigpost-portal-node-federation-configuration command
on all portal nodes.
- From the WebSphere Extended Deployment administrative console, click System
administration > Node groups.
- Add the new WebSphere Portal node to the existing WebSphere Portal node
Group.
