Use this utility to augment or unaugment an existing application
server profile with the WebSphere Extended Deployment templates. An option
to augment or unaugment a profile with the product templates is available
during the installation of WebSphere Extended Deployment. If you did not select
this option during installation and you want to augment or unaugment a profile,
use this utility.
Augment an existing application server
profile
If you did not select an option during installation to augment
an existing application server profile, then you can only augment one through
this utility.
A script entitled
wasprofile.sh is provided
with the product. At install time the script is copied onto the installation
target machine(s) in the
install_root\bin directory.
The
wasprofile.sh script augments an existing application
server profile with the WebSphere Extended Deployment templates.
The script
wasprofile.sh performs
various tasks, including the following ones that are listed. Run this script
by typing
wasprofile.sh -augment -profileName <profilename> -templatePath <templatePath>.
When it is complete, the administrative console contains WebSphere Extended
Deployment functions. The following tasks are performed in order:
- Creates WebSphere Extended Deployment templates.
- Adds policies to the DefaultCoreGroup:
- The partition facility's (WPF) cluster-scoped partition policy.
- WPF node-scoped partition policy.
- WPF PMI aggregator policy.
- Adds WebSphere Extended Deployment PMI modules
- Creates default service class and transaction class.
- Modifies Web container thread pool in WebSphere Extended Deployment templates.
To run this script, go to the install_root\bin directory
and type wasprofile.bat.
Unaugment an existing application server
profile
If you did not select an option during installation to unaugment
an existing application server profile, then you can only unaugment through
this utility.
A script entitled
wasprofile.sh is provided
with the product. At install time the script is copied onto the installation
target machine(s) in the
install_root\bin directory.
Use the
wasprofile.sh script to unaugment an existing application
server profile with the WebSphere Extended Deployment templates.
The script
wasprofile.sh performs
various tasks, including the following ones that are listed. Run this script
from the command line by typing
wasprofile.sh -unaugment <profilename>.
When the script is complete, the WebSphere Extended Deployment functions are
removed. The following tasks are performed in order:
- Removes WebSphere Extended Deployment from the administrative console.
- Removes WebSphere Extended Deployment PMI modules
- Removes WebSphere Extended Deployment configuration files. For example,
work classes.
- Removes policies from the DefaultCoreGroup:
- The partition facility's (WPF) cluster-scoped partition policy.
- WPF node-scoped partition policy.
- WPF PMI aggregator policy.
- Deletes WebSphere Extended Deployment templates.
To run this script, go to the install_root\bin directory
and type wasprofile.bat.
