WebSphere Extended Deployment V6.0.x     操作系统: AIX, HP-UX, Linux, Solaris, Windows, z/OS

Deploying an enterprise application with defined service levels

Use this task to deploy your enterprise application to the dynamic cluster using defined service levels to meet your performance goals.

在您开始之前

You must configure node groups, the on demand router, and dynamic clusters. See Preparing the hosting environment for dynamic operations for more information.

Before performing this task, plan the classification and handling of traffic for your application.

关于本任务

Service policies provide the ability to differentiate applications according to levels of importance and target values that can be prioritized to meet specific goals. For more information about service policies, see Operational policy.

过程

  1. Install the application on the dynamic cluster. See Deploying applications to dynamic clusters for more information.
  2. Define service levels with service policies. A service policy is a user-defined business goal, and correlates to transaction and work class components. For more information, see Defining a service policy.
  3. Classify application requests with service policy work classes. In the administrative console, click Applications > Enterprise applications > application_name. Click the Service Policies tab. Work classes contain Universal Resource Identifiers (URI), Web services, Enterprise JavaBean (EJB), or Java Message Service (JMS) patterns and conditional rules for associating requests to transaction classes. Transaction classes are then associated with service policies. See Routing policies for work classes for more information.
  4. Start the application. In the administrative console, click Applications > Enterprise applications. Select the application and click Start.

结果

The WebSphere Extended Deployment system can categorize and prioritize requests according to its defined goals.

下一步做什么

You can use the customized charting features to see if your goals are being met. See Dynamic charting for more information.

To achieve a healthy WebSphere Extended Deployment environment, configure health policies. Health policies are similar to service policies, except that they are based on a health goal for the environment. See Defining health management for more information.
