To configure WebSphere Extended Deployment with WebSphere Commerce
Server, create and configure the on demand router (ODR), create virtual hosts,
publish the store, configure dynamic operations, configure database resources,
add WebSphere Commerce Server nodes, create the default work class, and configure
WebSphere Extended Deployment features for WebSphere Commerce Server enhancements.

At this point, the Deployment Manager must be started and at least
one WebSphere Commerce Server node should be federated.

Do the following to configure Extended Deployment with WebSphere
Commerce Server

- Do the following to create and configure the ODR:
- Launch the Deployment Manager Administration Console.
- Select Servers > On Demand Routers.
- Create a new ODR, selecting the specific ODR node as the target.
- Save changes to the master repository.
- Select Servers > On Demand Routers.
- Select the newly created ODR > On Demand Router Settings.
- Enter the host name or IP address of the Web Server node in the trusted
security proxies field.
- For the Plugin Proxy Configuration Policy, set the Generate Plugin
Configuration to All. The plugin-cfg.xml file
will be generated on the ODR node in the ${WAS_ROOT}/profiles/AppServer/etc directory.
- Set the change script to the path of a custom script which copies the plugin-cfg.xml from
the ODR node to the appropriate directory on the Web server node. This script
will run each time the ODR changes the plugin-cfg.xml file.
- Save changes to the master repository.
- Do the following to create virtual hosts:
- Launch the Deployment Manager administration console.
- Select Environment > Virtual Hosts.
- Select default_host > Host Aliases.
- Add the following entries and save changes:
- Host Name: *, Port: 443
- Host Name: *, Port: 8000
- Host Name: *, Port: 8002
- Host Name: *, Port: 8004
- Publish the WebSphere Commerce store. For more information,
see Publishing a WebSphere Commerce store.
- Configure dynamic operations. For more information,
see Configuring dynamic operations.
- Configure database sources. For more information, see Configuring database sources.
- Add WebSphere Commerce Server nodes. For more information,
see Adding WebSphere Commerce Server
nodes
- Create the default work class. This is required for service policy
use. For more information, see Creating
the default work class.
- Configure WebSphere Extended Deployment features for WebSphere
