Use a node group to tell WebSphere Extended Deployment which nodes
in your cell are capable of running the long-running application.
Before you begin
If you already have a node group that contains the appropriate nodes
for the long-running application, you can skip
the following steps.
Procedure
- Determine the nodes in your cell that host the execution environment and long-running application.
- In the administrative console, select System administration
> Node groups
- Click New.
- Enter an appropriate name for the node group. For example, LongRunningNG.
- Click OK.
- Select the node group you created from the table.
- Select Node group members, then click Add.
Restriction:
Any node group
that hosts a long-running execution environment and applications
must not share members with other node groups. A node that is used for long-running work can be in the DefaultNodeGroup
node group, and at most, one other node group. You can freely mix grid and
transactional dynamic clusters within each node group. This restriction applies
only if long-running applications are deployed
to dynamic clusters in the node group.
- Select the boxes for the nodes that should host the long-running scheduler,
then click Add.
