Modifying an application to use the ObjectGrid HTTP session manager

To use the ObjectGrid HTTP session manager, you must make some modifications to your existing applications.

Before you begin

Copy the sessionobjectgrid.jar and ogclient.jar files from the WebSphere Extended Deployment product into the application servers that are hosting the new ObjectGrid-based HTTP session management enabled application. See Configuring an application to use the ObjectGrid HTTP session manager for more information.

About this task

Modify your application when you are configuring the ObjectGrid HTTP session manager. You must add filter declarations to your application Web deployment descriptors. You can also pass session manager configuration parameters to the session manager. To pass these parameters, add servlet context initialization parameters to the deployment descriptors.
