6.6.19.3.3: Disabling server traces with the Web console
During this task, you will turn tracing off, which will deactivate the
trace specification while preserving the trace string contained
in the trace specification field.
The server receives two pieces of
information that instruct it how to trace --
the trace string specification and the trace enablement flag. If tracing is
not enabled, the server ignores the trace string and instead disables tracing
for all components.
To disable tracing:
- In the tree on the left side of the console, click
Nodes -> hostname -> Application Servers
-> Trace Service. The trace service properties will be displayed
on the right side of the console.
- Click Enable Trace String so that the check box is
not checked.
- Click OK.
- If the
server is already running, click Send to have the setting take effect
immediately.
Otherwise, if the server is not running:
- Save your configuration.
- To have the configuration take effect:
- Stop the server
- Start the server again.
