Configuring connections

Use this task to configure connection information for use in authenticating a user's credentials when they attempt to connect to a bus.

Why and when to perform this task

A user name and password are used to authenticate the user when a user attempts to connect to a bus. The application code in an EJB or web container that invokes the JMS client accesses it as a JCA resource. The correct way to configure the user name and password is determined by whether application code has been configured to allow container-managed or application-managed sign-on to resources. For further details, see J2EE Connector security.
