Starting the key management utility (iKeyman)

By starting the key management utility (iKeyman), you can create a new key database, create a self-signed digital certificate, add certificate authority roots to the key database as a signer certificate, and request and receive a digital certificate from a certificate authority (CA).

WebSphere Application Server provides a graphical tool, the key management utility (iKeyman), for managing keys and certificates. With the key management utility, you can: To start the key management utility, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Change to the install_root/bin directory of the WebSphere Application plug-ins on your workstation. For example, on a Microsoft Windows system, this is C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\Plugins\bin by default.
  2. Issue one of the following commands:
    • [Windows] ikeyman.bat
    • [AIX HP-UX Solaris] ikeyman.sh

Results

A graphical user interface of the key management utility appears.
