Enable the dynamic cache service to improve application performance
by caching the output of servlets, Web services, and WebSphere Application
Server commands into memory.
About this task
The dynamic cache service is enabled by default. However, you can
enable or disable the service through the administrative console.
Procedure
- Open the administrative console.
- In the administrative console, click Servers > Application
servers > server_name > Container services > Dynamic cache
service.
- Select Enable service at server startup .
- Click Apply or OK.
- Restart WebSphere Application Server. You might want
to enable servlet caching before restarting WebSphere Application Server.
See Configuring servlet caching
for
more information.
Results
The dynamic cache service caches content for requests that have cache
policies configured.
What to do next
You might want to enable dynamic cache disk offload. This option
moves cache entries that are expired from memory to disk for potential future
access. See
Configuring dynamic cache disk offload
for
more information.
