Securing database access

Use this task to configure database access.

Why and when to perform this task

To secure access to the data store, you must configure a user name and password. For further information, see Configuring a JDBC data source for a messaging engine.

Note: If you want to apply additional levels of security such as encrypting the contents of the database, you must do this using the specific features that your database has available.
