Use this task to create a policy for your messaging engine,
or engines, to control its high availability behavior.
Why and when to perform this task
A policy is a component of a core group. A core group can have a
number of different policies; each policy applies to a particular
HAGroup and
determines the high availability behavior of resources in that group. For
service integration, the resources that you want to control are the
messaging engines.
To
create a policy for a messaging engine,
use the administrative console to perform the following steps:
Steps for this task
- Open the Policy page by clicking .
- Click New.
- From the Policy type list, click one of
the following policy types. Only these policy types are applicable to service
integration:
- Static
- Used to disallow failover in a WebSphere cluster.
- One of N
- Used to provide failover in a WebSphere cluster.
- No operation
- For use with an external high availability cluster.
- If required, configure the policy by using the topic Configuring a policy for messaging engines.
- Save your changes to the master configuration.
