Securing access to a foreign bus

Securing access between two linked service integration buses.

Before you begin

You should have chosen or created the local bus and a foreign bus.

Why and when to perform this task

This task summarizes the significant tasks to secure the link between a local bus and a foreign bus. For more general information about service integration bus security, see Service integration bus security.

Steps for this task

  1. Enable security on the service integration bus and the foreign bus - see Enabling and disabling messaging security.
  2. Secure the link between the buses - see Securing messages between messaging buses.
  3. Grant access to the local bus for users who will be sending messages to the foreign bus - see Administering bus connector roles.
  4. Grant access to the foreign bus for users who will be sending messages to it - see Administering foreign bus roles through the command line.
  5. Optional: Give users access to foreign or alias destinations that will forward messages to a foreign bus - see Administering destination roles through the command line.
