When messaging security is enabled, only
authorized messaging engines are allowed to create a connection to a secure
bus. Use this task to control which
messaging engines are allowed to connect to a selected secure bus.
Why and when to perform this task
To control which messaging engines can create
a connection to a selected bus, complete the following steps:
Steps for this task
Set the Inter-engine authentication alias property
to prevent unauthorized clients or messaging engines from establishing a connection;
see Configuring bus properties. - If you require extra security, configure the SSL certificate stores to
restrict objects that can make an SSL connection, and hence join the bus.
For more information see Configuring secure sockets layer.
Important: The userid specified in the Inter-engine
authentication alias must not be used by messaging clients. It
must not be given the bus connector role.
