Ensuring the messaging engine can access mediations

Use this task to ensure that the messaging engine can access mediations.

Before you begin

Ensure that you have configured a J2C authentication alias. In this task, you will assign this alias as a mediations authentication alias. For more information on how to create a J2C authentication alias, see Managing J2EE Connector Architecture authentication data entries.

Why and when to perform this task

The messaging engine requires a mediations authentication alias to access mediations when global security or server security is enabled.

To specify a mediations authentication alias for the messaging engine, use the administrative console to complete the following steps:

Steps for this task

  1. In the navigation pane, click Service Integration > Buses. A list of buses is displayed in the content pane.
  2. In the content pane, select the name of the bus where the mediation is defined. The properties for the bus are displayed.
  3. In the Mediations authentication alias field, select the authentication alias you want to use to access the bus.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Save your changes to the master configuration.

The mediation identity is available for the messaging engine to use to access mediations.

Next, you can protect your mediation handlers by assigning security roles to them. For more information, see Deploying secured applications.
