You can use scripting to configure custom properties for a resource
environment provider.
About this task
Perform the following steps to configure a new custom property for
a resource environment provider:
Procedure
- Identify the parent ID and assign it to the newrep variable.
Using Jacl:
set newrep [$AdminConfig getid /Cell:mycell/Node:mynode/ResourceEnvironmentProvider:REP1/]
Using Jython:
newrep = AdminConfig.getid('/Cell:mycell/Node:mynode/ResourceEnvironmentProvider:REP1/')
print newrep
Example output:
REP1(cells/mycell/nodes/mynode|resources.xml#ResourceEnvironmentProvider_1)
- Identify the required attributes:
Using Jacl:
$AdminConfig required J2EEResourceProperty
Using Jython:
print AdminConfig.required('J2EEResourceProperty')
Example output:
Attribute Type
name String
- Set up the required attributes and assign it to the repAttrs variable:
Using Jacl:
set name [list name RP]
set rpAttrs [list $name]
Using Jython:
name = ['name', 'RP']
rpAttrs = [name]
- Get the J2EE resource property set:
Using Jacl:
set propSet [$AdminConfig showAttribute $newrep propertySet]
Using Jython:
propSet = AdminConfig.showAttribute(newrep, 'propertySet')
print propSet
Example output:
(cells/mycell/nodes/mynode|resources.xml#PropertySet_1)
- Create a J2EE resource property:
Using Jacl:
$AdminConfig create J2EEResourceProperty $propSet $rpAttrs
Using Jython:
print AdminConfig.create('J2EEResourceProperty', propSet, rpAttrs)
Example output:
RP(cells/mycell/nodes/mynode|resources.xml#J2EEResourceProperty_1)
- Save the configuration changes. See the Saving configuration changes with the wsadmin tool
article for more information.
- In a network deployment environment
only, synchronize the node. See the Synchronizing nodes with the wsadmin tool
article for more information.
