Messaging between two WebSphere MQ systems through a WebSphereApplication Server

The topic describes the concept of sending a WebSphere MQ message to another WebSphere MQ system through a WebSphere Application Server.

You can exchange messages between two WebSphere MQ systems through an intermediate WebSphere Application Server, as shown in the figure below.

Figure 1. Exchanging messages between two WebSphere MQ networks through an intermediate WebSphere Application Server.
The graphic illustrates a WebSphere MQ system (on the left), linked to a WebSphere Application Server (in the middle), linked to a WebSphere MQ system (on the right).
Although there are differences between WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere MQ, the WebSphere Application Server has the WebSphere MQ link which automatically takes care of most message conversion (of course, data conversion is under your control). A message arriving at a target WebSphere MQ system will be the same as that leaving the transmitting WebSphere MQ system, despite its conversion from WebSphere MQ to WebSphere Application Server and back to WebSphere MQ format.
