Managing application servers

Why and when to perform this task

To view information about an application server, use the Application Servers panel on the administrative console.

You must use command line tools to create a new application server. The server you create cannot be managed using the administrative console. Also note that the only server you can manage using the administrative console is the default server (server1).

[Version 6.0.1 and later]You must use command line tools to create and manage a new application server. Any server you create cannot be viewed or managed using the administrative console. The only server you can view and manage using the administrative console is the default server (server1).

To use the administrative console to view and manage the default application server (server1):

Steps for this task

  1. Access the Application Servers page. Click Servers > Application Servers in the console navigation tree.
  2. View information about application servers.

    The Application servers page lists the application servers and the cells holding these application servers.

    [Version 6.0.1 and later]The Application servers page shows the default application server and the cell holding that application server.

  3. Monitor the running of application servers.
