IBM Support Assistant

The IBM Support Assistant is a tool that helps you use various IBM Support resources from within the WebSphere Application Server administrative console. The IBM Support Assistant offers four components to help you with software questions:
To download and begin using the IBM Support Assistant:
  1. Log into the administrative console and select Support from the top menu.

    This will open the product support page, from which you can download the IBM Support Assistant and access various IBM Web resources, such as IBM product sites, IBM support sites, and links to IBM news groups.

  2. Download the tool, by selecting "Click here to download the IBM Support Assistant."
  3. Install the tool, following the instructions in the Installation_and_Troubleshooting_Guide.html file.
  4. Start the tool, following the instructions in the same HTML file.

    The IBM Support Assistant is a J2EE Web application launched separately from the administrative console application. On Windows, the IBM Support Assistant is contained within its own GUI. On all other platforms, it is displayed in a Web browser.

  5. To learn more about how to use the IBM Support Assistant, click the User Guide tab in the IBM Support Assistant window.
