Interoperating with WebSphere MQ

These topics introduce how to exchange messages with a WebSphere MQ network using the WebSphere MQ link

Why and when to perform this task

If you operate within a WebSphere Application Server environment, sending messages across a service integration bus, you can also exchange point-to-point and publish/subscribe messages with applications in a WebSphere MQ network, so you can share information with other environments.

The method of exchange uses a component called WebSphere MQ link which operates on a messaging engine in a service integration bus to provide functions that simplify and automate interoperation with WebSphere MQ.

You can read more about the functions of WebSphere MQ link and how it works in Learning about interoperating with a WebSphere MQ network.

You can read how to configure the WebSphere MQ link in Configuring a WebSphere MQ link.

Using the WebSphere MQ link panels of the WebSphere Application Server administration console you can choose:

You can read how to administer the WebSphere MQ link in Administering a WebSphere MQ link.

You can read about how to program applications to take advantage of the WebSphere MQ link in Learning about programming for interoperability with WebSphere MQ.
