Before you begin

Performance considerations are the same for Web services applications that are developed and implemented based on the Web Services for Java 2 platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and regular J2EE applications.

Why and when to perform this task

You can use the Performance Monitoring Infrastructure (PMI) to measure the time required to process Web services requests. To monitor Web services application performance:

Steps for this task

  1. Enable PMI services in application server through the administrative console.
    Select the Web Service module, named webServicesModule, in step 7.
  2. Monitor performance with Tivoli Performance Viewer
    In the left-hand pane of the performance view, expand the host and server and select Web Services. Run the Web services client application.
