Starting the Customization Dialog

Before you begin

You must have the product code installed and have access to the product data sets.

Perform the following steps to run the Customization Dialog:

Steps for this task

  1. From the ISPF command line, enter the following command: ex 'hlq.sbboclib(bbowstrt)' 'options'
    where:
    hlq
    High-level qualifier for the SBBOCLIB data set.
    options
    Command options. Enclose any and all options, some of which are required depending on which product you wish to configure, in a single set of quotes.
    The following are possible options you can use:
    appl(value)
    Specifies the ISPF application name. This option creates unique ISPF profiles, usually stored in the "userid.ISPF.ISPFPROF" data set, that are useful when you want to keep saved variables separate from those in other target environments. The default value is BBO5.
    lang(value)
    Specifies the national language. Values can be either ENUS (English) or JAPN (Japanese). The default value is ENUS.

    Note: Some messages will still appear in English even if you run the Dialog in Japanese.

    Examples:

    ex 'bbo.sbboclib(bbowstrt)'

    ex 'bbo.sbboclib(bbowstrt)' 'lang(japn)'

  2. Press Enter.
    Result: You see the "THIRD PARTY LICENSE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, NOTICES AND INFORMATION" panel, which is too large to reprint here.
  3. Type "END" as instructed, then "Y" to finish the license section.

    Result: You see the following panel:

       Use this Dialog to customize WebSphere Application Server for z/OS for the first time or      
       add deployment manager functionality to an existing base application       
       server. Specify an option and press ENTER.                                 
                                                                                  
       1  Configure security domain. If you want to configure a security          
          domain, use this option.                                                
                                                                                  
       2  Configure base Application Server node. If you want to configure        
          a stand-alone base Application Server, use this option. You must        
          complete "Configure security domain" before starting this option.       
                                                                                  
       3  Configure integral JMS provider. If you want to configure for an        
          integral JMS provider, use this option. You must complete "Configure    
          base Application Server node" before starting this option.              
                                                                                  
       4  Configure deployment manager node. If you want to configure for a       
          deployment manager, use this option. You must complete "Configure       
          base Application Server node" before starting this option.              
                                                                                  
       5  Federate base Application Server node. If you want to federate the      
          base Application Server node, use this option. You must complete        
          "Configure deployment manager node" before starting this option.        
                                                                                  
       6  Configure Web services gateway. If you want to configure for Web        
          services gateway, use this option. You must complete "Configure base    
          Application Server node" before starting this option.                   
                                                                                  
       7  Configure v5.0 License Agreement Refresher. If you want to            
          configure from W501nnn to W502nnn service fix levels, use this option.  

  4. Return to Using the Customization Dialog and continue with the next step.

Results

You have finished starting the Customization Dialog and can now choose the option for the path you would like to follow.
