Configuring a JMS destination, a generic JMS provider

Use this task to configure the properties of a JMS destination for use with a generic JMS provider (other than the embedded WebSphere JMS provider or the WebSphere MQ JMS provider).

Why and when to perform this task

To configure the properties of a JMS destination for use with a generic JMS provider, use the administrative console to complete the following steps:

Steps for this task

  1. In the navigation pane, click Resources-> Generic JMS Providers
    This displays in the content pane a list of any existing generic JMS providers.
  2. (Optional)   Change the Scope check box to Cell, Node, or Server, according to your needs.
  3. In the content pane, click the JMS provider that you want to support the JMS destination.
    This displays in the content pane a table of properties for the JMS provider, including links to the types of JMS resources supported by the JMS provider.
  4. In the Additional Properties list in the contents pane, select JMS Destinations
    This displays a table listing any existing JMS destinations, with a summary of their properties.
  5. To create a new JMS destination, click New in the content pane. Otherwise, to change the properties of an existing queue destination, click one of the destinations displayed.
    This displays the properties for the JMS destination in the content pane.
  6. Specify appropriate properties for the JMS destination.
  7. Click OK.
  8. To save your configuration, click Save on the task bar of the Administrative console window.
  9. To have the changed configuration take effect, stop then restart the application server.
