Why and when to perform this task

[Version 5.0.2]When using SMP/E, there are additional actions you need to perform in order to apply a new service level or restore to the previous accepted service level. These new WebSphere Application Server for z/OS add-ons, which you perform on the WebSphere run-time home directory that is created in the HFS by the Customization Dialog, were put into place to reduce some of the post-install service actions you previously had to perform by hand. It also makes possible tasks you couldn't perform before, such as updating customized files (such as setupCmdLine.sh or server.xml, which contain unique content for each node) that exist in each WebSphere run-time home directory, or seeing new files appear in the WebSphere run-time home directory after you add them to the SMP/E home directory.
