Setting up your system: Customizing WebSphere Application Server for z/OS

Use this task to customize all instances WebSphere Application Server for z/OS.

Why and when to perform this task

After you SMP/E install WebSphere Application Server for z/OS, you need to configure your system(s). Follow these steps to run the Customization Dialog for all instances of WebSphere Application Server for z/OS you wish to set up.

Steps for this task

  1. Review the steps involved in using the Customization Dialog.
    See Using the Customization Dialog.
  2. Set up your base Application Server cell.
    See Setting up a base Application Server cell.
  3. If desired, set up your Network Deployment environment.
    See Setting up a Network Deployment environment.

What to do next

When you have finished the customization process, your system should be all set in the configuration you desire and you can go on to post-customization tasks. See Performing WebSphere Application Server for z/OS post-installation tasks.
