Before you begin

You can only use the Assembly Toolkit tools on a Windows system, so you have to copy (in binary) to a Windows system the uddi.ear file, then modify the EAR file on the Windows system, then copy (in binary) the modified file back to your z/OS system.

To configure SOAP properties by using the , complete the following steps:

Steps for this task

  1. On your Windows system, install the Assembly Toolkit.
  2. Use File Transport Protocol (FTP) to copy (in binary) the uddi.ear file from your target application server under z/OS to your Windows system.
  3. Select Update and click on the Application icon.
  4. Select the uddi.ear file (this is placed, by the UDDI installation, into the UDDI install directory).
  5. Expand the uddi.ear icon on the left-hand pane in the AAT.
  6. Expand the Web Modules tree.
  7. Expand the uddi Soap tree.
  8. To change the defaultPoolSize, complete the following steps:
    1. Expand Web Components and then uddipublish (for the publish API) or uddi (for the inquiry API).
    2. Click on Initialization Parameters which will show the defaultPoolSize parameter in the upper right-hand pane. This can be edited in the lower right-hand pane.
  9. To change the context root, click on UDDI Soap which displays general information about the SOAP module in the lower right-hand pane in . The context root can be edited in this pane.
  10. To change the publish API to use HTTP (instead of HTTPS), click on Security Constraints and change the Transport Guarantee from Confidential to none.
  11. Having made any changes above, you must now save them. To do this, click on File -> Save (or Save As) to save your changes.
  12. Use FTP to copy (in binary) the modified uddi.ear file back to your z/OS system.
  13. Redeploy the uddi.ear file to WebSphere, by first removing it and reinstalling it using the administrative console.
