Why and when to perform this task

Application profiling enables you to configure multiple access intent policies on the same entity bean. Application profiling reflects the fact that different invocations against the same entity can require different kinds of support from the server run-time environment. Steps for this task

  1. Assembling applications for application profiles.
    This topic describes how to configure tasks, create application profiles, and configure tasks on profiles.
  2. Managing application profiles.
    This topic describes how to add and remove tasks from application profiles using the administrative console.
  3. Using the TaskNameManager API.
    This topic describes how to programmatically set the current task name, but you should use this technique sparingly. Wherever possible, use the declarative method instead, which results in more portable function.
