This task describes how to remove all artifacts of an instance of the product so that you have a clean machine with regard to the instance. Repeat the procedure for each instance of the product that you intend to remove.
Before you begin
Uninstalling manually occurs after running the uninstaller program, or because you cannot run the uninstaller program because the program might affect federated nodes, coexisting products, or features. The following for manually uninstalling the product are specific to the platform on which the product is installed.Before uninstalling, verify that you have no open Web browsers that are accessing the administrative console. Otherwise, there is the potential for locked file errors as you uninstall.
Why and when to perform this task
Even if you run the uninstaller program to remove registry entries, uninstall the product code, and remove all related features and products, such as plug-ins, there are some files that the uninstaller program does not remove. The uninstaller program does not delete any configuration files that are changed as the result of selecting installation options, or running Samples, for example.
