![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Customer is trying to "Mapping Resource References to Resources" using the AdminConsole and selecting: Enterprise Applications > appName > Mapping Resource References to Resources They then go to the javax.sql.DataSource section and left click on the pulldown for "Specify existing Resource JNDI name:". Here they expect to see Resources they have defined but, do NOT. It seems that WebSphere only displays Resources for NODES that have Servers that are NOT members of a Cluster. For example : If you have 2 systems SY1 and SY2, you have clustered servers on both. In addition to the clustered servers, only SY2 has NON-clustered servers defined. If you select an application and attempt to "Mapping Resource References to Resources" only resources on SY2 will be displayed for selection. This problem results in the customer having to key in the Resource he wants to select on this panel.Local fix key in the Resource, rather than selecting it.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Resources not shown in dropdown list on * * resource mapping page of the * * Administrative Console. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** In the Administrative Console, some defined resources are not shown in the dropdown lists on the "Map Resource References to Resources" and "Map Resource Env Entry References to Resources" pages.Problem conclusion For a number of reasons, including performance, the product was designed to show only resources which are available to at least one non-clustered server. Therefore, resources that are only available to clustered servers are intentionally not shown in the list. Any valid resource name can still be entered manually in the JNDI name field even if it is not in the dropdown list. The mapping pages are modified to describe the criteria used for populating the dropdown list. A redesign of the function to show a complete and accurate list of resources in the dropdown lists is planned for a future release.
