Error description
Currently, the performance of the Admin Console for WebSphere
Application Server v5.0 for z/OS needs to be improved. This
performance degradation causes the 'Status' icon for installed /
started applications, as well as servers in nodes that have
been started, to be 'Unavailable'. This is incorrect, as the
actual availability of these applications/servers is not
'Unavailable' but, in fact, 'Started'.
Other problems may occur as a result of the degraded performance
of the WebSphere admin function. The above is a single example.

The current model did not scale well to large numbers of servers
and applications, so an event driven model was built. It
is composed of a series of Event Caches that propagate
information, and listeners that act on that information.
Problem conclusion
The current model is a polling model, where every server/ app
is queried individually, this model has been changed to an
event driven model.
