![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description When using scripting the customer noted that the shortName of the cluster was being changed when cluster members were created in a new cluster. This problem is unique to the use of the $AdminConfig createClusterMember scripting command. When used to create the first member of a cluster, it sets a default shortname for the cluster regardless of whether the cluster's shortname has already been set or not. It won't cause a problem when creating additional members and this problem does not occur via the Admin Console.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Any existing cluster shortName is * * overwritten by a default value without * * warning when an initial cluster member * * is created via scripting using the * * $AdminConfig createClusterMember * * command. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When creating the first member of a cluster, the $AdminConfig createClusterMember command sets a default shortName for the cluster overwriting any shortName previously set using the $AdminConfig create ServerCluster shortName input parameter or the $AdminConfig modify command. If a shortName has already been assigned, it is overwritten without warning.Problem conclusion The code is modified so that a default shortName is set only if there is no existing shortName for the cluster. APAR PK16905 is associated with SERVICE LEVEL W502038 of WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
