![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Upon stopping the WebSphere Application server, the following error message surfaces. P BBOS001 BBOO0133I WEBSPHERE FOR Z/OS STOP COMMAND ISSUED FOR SERVER BBOS001 ATR169I RRS HAS UNSET EXITS FOR RESOURCE MANAGER BBO.CELL.BBOCL1.BBOSR1.IBM REASON: UNREGISTERED SE 'ICH70004I USER(IBMUSER) GROUP(WSCFG1) NAME(WAS CTL REGION) SE 'ICH70004I ATTEMPTED ''ALTER'' ACCESS OF SE 'ICH70004I ENTITY ''MVSADMIN.RRS.COMMANDS.XPLEX.SX1'' SE 'ICH70004I IN CLASS ''FACILITY'' AT 10:00:00 ON JUNE 28, 2007 RRS support was added to z/OS 1.8 (HBB7730) in the base, and also the following APARS z/OS 1.6 HBB7709 -- APAR OA12048 z/OS 1.7 HBB7720 -- APAR OA12048 WebSphere exploits this function on version 6.1 if it is there to remove an RRS RM name from the RM log so that old servers don't fill up the log. No problem will occur if you don't provide access to this facility/class, but you will get those ICH messages when you stop a server.Local fix Ignore message or provide access to facility/class to WebSphere to allow WebSphere to remove the RRS RM name from the RM log.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V6.1 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ICH70004I messages are seen during * * server stop processing. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** During a server stop, the following ICH70004I messages may be reported by RACF: ICH70004I USER(xxx) GROUP(xxx) NAME(WAS CTL REGION) ICH70004I ATTEMPTED ''ALTER'' ACCESS OF ICH70004I ENTITY ''MVSADMIN.RRS.COMMANDS.xxx.yyy'' ICH70004I IN CLASS ''FACILITY'' AT xx:xx:xx ON xxxx xx, xxxx The WebSphere Application Server Controller Region is calling the RRS ATRSRV macro, but the user running the controller region does not have RACF authority to resources required by the macro. WebSphere will only attempt to call the ATRSRV macro during server stop when running on z/OS 1.8 or higher, or when running on z/OS 1.6 or higher with MVS APAR OA12048 installed.Problem conclusion WebSphere will check to see if it has RACF permission to the resources required by the ATRSRV marco before invoking the macro. This will prevent the ICH70004I messages from being displayed. APAR PK50581 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.12 of WebSphere Application Server V6.1 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments ž**** PE07/12/18 PTF IN ERROR.
