Error description ABEND0C4 can occur in glue modules when tracing is turned on if a trace buffer fills and causes a call to bbgqtwrt.cpp while in the middle of a a prior glue module call. The glue work area pointed to by the BTCB is in use by the firt glue module a nd gets overwritten by bbgqtwrt.cpp.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of Websphere Application Server * * V6.1.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WebSphere Application Server for z/OS * * servant or controller region abends * * with an ABEND0C4/ABENDS0C4 when running * * in 64-bit mode with tracing enabled. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When the server is running in 64-bit mode and tracing is enabled, there is a chance that two different routines could write to a thread specific storage area at the same time, causing an ABEND0C4/ABENDS0C4.Problem conclusion The code has been updated to allocate a new piece of storage if the shared storage area is already in use. APAR PK50489 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.15 of WebSphere Application Server V6.1 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
