![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Customer has a concern about the AUTODELETE and the RETPD (retention period) set in job BBORRSLS by skel BBORRSLS Found the skeleton for BBORRSLS shows that a variable (&CFRRS) is set for Coupling Facility Y or N. In that skel a SEL is performed against &CFRRS, if it = Y then AUTODELETE(YES) and retention period RETPD(2) are set. Customer believes the AUTODELETE(YES) RETPD(X) should be encoded always. where X is an appropriate value. (ATR.&RRSGRP..ARCHIVE has a RETPD(5) so perhapes that is also (appropriate for the DASD only logstream as well. (otherwise RETPD(2) seems appropriateLocal fix Skeleton BBORRSLS can be altered manually as needed.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Values for AUTODELETE() and RETPD() * * generated by the install dialog for * * the RRS logstreams are not consistent * * between CF logstreams and DASD * * logstreams. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The install dialog generates jobs which allocate the logstreams for RRS, if the user is not already using RRS. The generated values for AUTODELETE() and RETPD() are different, depending on whether the user selected CF or DASD based logstreams. They should be consistent between the twoProblem conclusion The RRS archive log will use AUTODELETE(YES) and RETPD(5). The remaining four RRS logstreams will take the system logger default value of AUTODELETE(NO). When AUTODELETE() is set to no, RETPD() is ignored.
