![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Performance of outbound SSL connections suffers to due to lack of re-using existing SSL session idsLocal fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V6.1 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Outbound SSL connections are not trying * * to re-use existing SSL sessions. This * * means that the handshakes must be full * * handshakes each time, instead of the * * quicker ones when re-using an existing * * negotiated session. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The SSL channel is not making the right call into the JSSE provider to trigger the re-use of cached sessions. A different API must be used that passes along the target host/port information so that the cache can be queried.Problem conclusion The SSL channel is updated for outbound connections to use the second API that allows the session cache re-use. APAR PK46069 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.13 of WebSphere Application Server V6.1 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
