APAR status
Closed as program error.

Error description
When configuring for migration from 5.x to 6.1, when option Y is
given for a zOS based migration or the -appInstallDirectory
parameter when run from a distributed based migration, the
directory name provided by the customer as the target for the
migrated applications is not the target directory used by the
migration process. Instead the applications end up in the
defaultapplication installation directory.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Migration with -keepAppDirectory set *
* to false (default setting) will *
* override the behavior of the *
*                      -appInstallDirectory parameter          *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
If customers migrate with -keepAppDirectory=false and specify
a value for -appInstallDirectory (non-default value for the
'Y' option on the WebSphere Application Server V6.1 for z/OS
configuration panels), the value will be ignored in favor of the
default application install directory under
profiles/<profile>/config/cells/<cell>/applications.
Problem conclusion
With this fix applied, the WebSphere migration will honor
the customer specified value for the application install
directory when the -keepAppDirectory is set to false (default).

APAR PK43116 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.9 of WebSphere Application Server V6.1
for z/OS.
