![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description This APAR addresses defects in WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: APAR PQ73587 addresses various problems * * in WebSphere Application Server V5.0 * * for z/OS. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** APAR PQ73587 addresses the following problems in WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS: (MD15506.01) The offset of the branch qualifier in a XID is incorrectly calculated. This error causes assertion failures when looking for the transaction branch in the active transaction tables. The symptoms of this failure are message BBOO0021E and the termination of the control region with a C9C20008 minor code. (MD16593) Using default identities in the install dialogs does not result in a valid id for the Daemon. was.env is not getting updated with security attributes from the Daemon, so a change to default identities in the install dialogs does not result in a valid id for the Daemon. (MD16659) Users are unable to access admin console if security is enabled and SAF was selected as the authorization mechanism. The user gets an error accessing the admin console if Global Security is enabled, and SAF is selected as the Authorization mechanism (by setting to 1 the value for com_ibm_security_SAF_authorization). After being prompted for a Userid and Password, the user gets the following message from the console: Unable to process Login. Please check userid and password and try again. (MD16698)If a customer specifies ORBRas=all=enabled, the resulting trace records are not written out to Websphere trace logfiles. (MD16841) After stopping an application and then restarting it, entity bean ids are not cleared out of the cache, resulting in cache hits for stale bean ids. The errors show up as FaultExceptions stemming from HomeDisabledExceptions: Trace: 2003/04/16 22:30:51.082 01 t=9CDE88 c=4.16 key=P8 FunctionName: com.ibm.ejs.container.WrapperManager SourceId: com.ibm.ejs.container.WrapperManager Category: EVENT ExtendedMessage: Malformed object key; com.ibm.ejs.container .HomeDisabledException at com.ibm.ejs.container.EJSHome.homeEnabled(EJSHome.java:320) at com.ibm.ejs.container.EJSHome .internalCreateWrapper(EJSHome.java:767) at com.ibm.ejs.container.EJSContainer .createWrapper(EJSContainer.java:3220) at com.ibm.ejs.container.WrapperManager .faultOnKey(WrapperManager.java:528) at com.ibm.ejs.util.cache.Cache.findAndFault(Cache.java:403) at com.ibm.ejs.container.WrapperManager .getWrapper(WrapperManager.java:259) at com.ibm.ejs.container.EJSContainer .getWrapper(EJSContainer.java:3184) at com.ibm.ejs.container.EJSContainer .getWrapper(EJSContainer.java:3172) at com.ibm.ejs.container.BeanO.getWrapper(BeanO.java:397) at com.ibm.ejs.container.EJSHome .postCreateCommon(EJSHome.java:1956) at com.ibm.ejs.container.EJSHome.postCreate(EJSHome.java:1817) followed by: Trace: 2003/04/16 22:30:51.083 01 t=9CDE88 c=4.16 key=P8 FunctionName: com.ibm.ejs.container.WrapperManager SourceId: com.ibm.ejs.container.WrapperManager Category: EVENT ExtendedMessage: Unable to fault in wrapper; com.ibm.websphere .csi.FaultException at com.ibm.ejs.util.cache.Cache.findAndFault(Cache.java:423) at com.ibm.ejs.container.WrapperManager .getWrapper(WrapperManager.java:259) at com.ibm.ejs.container.EJSContainer .getWrapper(EJSContainer.java:3184) at com.ibm.ejs.container.EJSContainer .getWrapper(EJSContainer.java:3172) at com.ibm.ejs.container.BeanO.getWrapper(BeanO.java:397) at com.ibm.ejs.container.EJSHome .postCreateCommon(EJSHome.java:1956) at com.ibm.ejs.container.EJSHome.postCreate(EJSHome.java:1817)Problem conclusion APAR PQ73587 provides the following problem resolution: (MD15506.01) Support has been modified such that the branch qualifier offset calculation has been corrected. (MD16593) The Daemon does not need an identity, so support has been modified to bypass the code that obtains the local and remote identities. (MD16659) Support was added to obtain a valid z/OS identity. (MD16698) Support has been modified to direct trace records to WebSphere trace logfiles if ORBRas=all=enabled is specified. (MD16841) Support has been modified such that on application stop, the BeanIdCache is now cleared therefore removing stale BeanIds. APAR PQ73587 requires a change to be made to the WebSphere Application Server Version 5 InfoCenter. To access the latest online documentation, go to the product library page at: www.ibm.com/software/webservers/appserv/zos_os390/library.html The change is to the first paragraph in the z/OS usec_rltpa file (view this administrative console page by clicking Security > Authentication Mechanisms > LTPA), which now reads: If you are configuring security for the first time only the password is required. Once the password is entered click Apply. Click Single Sign On (SSO) and enter the domain name. Make sure that SSO is enabled. Click Apply. In the Global Security panel, click Custom Properties. A list of security properties will show up in your screen. Click Next to move to the next properties page. Click the control_region_security_enable_trusted_applications property. On the new window change the Value field from false to true, and click Apply. To complete the security setup ensure that the appropriate registry is setup and click Apply from the Global Security panel. When security is enabled and any of these properties change, go to the Global Security panel and click Apply to validate the changes. APAR PQ73587 is associated with SERVICE LEVEL W500004 of WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
