![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description When creating a new cluster member, and having the "generated unique ports" selected, the ports generated were not unique. They were in conflict with the deployment manager ports on the same box.Local fix Change the Dmgr port to 10000 or above then create the servers.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: On the Administrative Console, * * when creating new servers, the * * checkbox labeled: * * "Generate Unique Http Ports" * * only generates ports unique to the * * node, rather than the cell. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Generating ports unique to the node, rather than the cell causes problems if there are more than one Node on the same system. Ports can possibly overlap, so a fix was made to ensure ports are unique across all the servers in the cell, including the DeploymentManager.Problem conclusion A fix was made to the way the unique ports are selected. A cell wide view of port assignments is considered. APAR PQ79358 is associated with SERVICE LEVEL W501002 of WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
