|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description When STOP is issued or Stop is request through admin console, WebSphere app server goes down with no problems. The MDB application is stopped as well. However, app servers is not releasing the MDB Listener connection with MQSeries Queue Manager. Every time the server is restared, a new connection is established and the number of threads in the queue increases. The problem is WebSphere does not close connection when STOP is issued.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: MQ connections are not closed causing * * them to accumulate after the server is * * restarted. This occurs when using Full * * Function MQ in Bindings mode. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Stopping the server (Controller and Servant regions) by issuing the MVS stop command, for ex. p bbos001, does not close the MQ connections used by the connection browsers in the Controller region. After the server is restarted, previous connections persist and accumulate. This can be seen by issuing the MQSC command DISPLAY THREAD(*). RRSBATCH type threads show as active with the ASIDs of previous Controller regions. This also occurs if the Listener Ports used by the registered MDBs are stopped and restarted.Problem conclusion Close the connection used by the connection browsers when the server is stopped or if the Listener Port for which there are connection browsers is stopped. APAR PQ81408 is associated with SERVICE LEVEL W502002 of WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
