PK08751: WEBSPHERE V5 SYSTEM LOCATION INSTALLATION PANEL CONTAINS THE INCORRECT DEFAULT FOR SGSKLOAD | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Customer is running WebSphere for z/OS v5.1. He recently migrated to z/OS 1.6. At 1.6 the GSKSSL modules have now been moved from GSK.SGSKLOAD to a pds named SIEALNKE (for example SYS1.SIEALNKE). However, the System Location panel of the WebSphere Installation dialog still references the GSK.SGSKLOAD library. This is correct for prior versions of z/OS. The customer feels that this change should somehow be noted for customers who are running at z/OS 1.6. For WebSphere v6, this panel contains the line: . (leave SGSKLOAD blank if all systems are at z/OS 1.6 or above) . This message should be added to the WebSphere v5 dialog panels as well.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: At z/OS v1.5, the SYSTEM SSL modules * * were stored in the SGSKLOAD data set. * * At z/OS v1.6, the SYSTEM SSL modules * * data set name is changed and is stored * * in SIEALNKE. However, the System * * Location panel (BBOWPS11) of the * * WebSphere Application Server for z/OS * * customization dialog still * * references the SGSKLOAD library. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Since it's incorrect to reference the SGSKLOAD library for z/OS v1.6 users, the dialog panel field "SGSKLOAD" will be changed to a more approriate label "SYSTEM SSL".Problem conclusion Panel BBOWPS11 will be updated so that the field name "SGSKLOAD" will read "SYSTEM SSL". APAR PK08751 requires changes to documentation. A change to the V5.0 WebSphere Application Server Information Center will be made with the next refresh. To access the latest online documentation, go to the product library page at: www.ibm.com/software/webservers/appserv/zos_os390/library/ The change is to files tins_dialogsteps_setvars2 tins_dialogsteps_setvars3 tins_dialogsteps_selvars4 In these work sheets, SGSKLOAD has been replaced with System SSL with no default listed. In tins_lpa, the text was updated as follows: System data sets Place the SCEERUN, SCEERUN2 and System SSL load module libraries in the system link list or link pack area if possible. In z/OS Version 1 Release 6, the contents of the System SSL data set SGSKLOAD were merged into the SIEALNKE system data set. If you chose to place SGSKLOAD in the link list or link pack area on your pre-z/OS Version 1 Release 6 systems, then place SIEALNKE in the link list or link pack area on your z/OS systems at Version 1 Release 6 and above. Ths will allow you to share WebSphere Application Server cataloged procedures across your z/OS systems. If you chose not to place SGSKLOAD in the link list or link pack area on your pre-z/OS Version 1 Release 6 systems, then you will need to make separate copies of the WebSphere Application Server cataloged procedures to use on your z/OS systems at Version 1 Release 6 and above. Select one of the following options. - If SIEALNKE is in the link list or link pack area on your z/OS systems at Version 1 Release 6 and above, remove SGSKLOAD from the STEPLIB concatenation in each cataloged procedure, and remove SGSKLOAD from the STEPLIB variable in each <WAS_home>/bin/setupCmdLine.sh script for those nodes running on z/OS Version 1 Release 6 (or above) systems. - If SIEALNKE is not in the link list or link pack area on your z/OS systems at Version 1 Release 6 and above, change the SGSKLOAD reference in the STEPLIB concatenation in each cataloged procedure to SIEALNKE, and change the the SGSKLOAD reference in the STEPLIB variable in each <WAS_home>/bin/setupCmdLine.sh script to SIEALNKE, for those nodes running on z/OS Version 1 Release 6 (or above) systems.
