APAR PK01079 addresses the following defect in WebSphere
Application Server V5.0 for z/OS:

(botp_250302) The module BBOTWIDP is loaded by the location
service daemon, which may be running a more recent release of
WebSphere Application Server for z/OS than the rest of the
servers in the cell. This can happen when one node on a system
is at one release of WebSphere, while another node on the same
system has been upgraded to a newer release. BBOTWIDP must be
able to tolerate being called from application servers running
on previous releases.

(MD20699) GSS tokens are currently not supported by the
WebSphere Application Server for z/OS. As a result, when a Node
Agent attempts to synchronize with a Deployment Manager that
uses GSS to encode tokens, the Node Agent cannot decode the
token and the Node Agent uses the unauthenticated userid for the
operation. Since the unauthenticated userid does not have
authority to perform administration requests (such as
synchronization), the operation fails.
Problem conclusion
APAR PK01079 fixes the following defect in WebSphere Application
Server V5.0 for z/OS.

(botp_250302) Code was added to provide such tolerance.

(MD20699) Code was added to the WebSphere Application Server to
allow a GSS encoded token to be decoded. The code attempts to
decode the token using the ASN1 decode method first, then the
GSS decode method. The following message may be output if the
ASN1 method attempts to decode a GSS encoded message:

SECJ0222E: An unexpected exception occurred when trying to
create a LoginContext. The LoginModule alias is system
DEFAULT and the exception is .

After the ASN1 decode method fails, the GSS decode method is
called to decode the token.

APAR PK01079 is associated with SERVICE LEVEL W502024 of
WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS.
