PQ98107: ENABLING IC4J TRACING DYNAMICALLY DOES NOT WORK.

APAR status
Closed as program error.

Error description
When the following commands are issued, the trace output is not
displayed:
f server,tracetosysprint=yes
f server,tracejava='com.ibm.connector2.ims.*=all=enabled'
However, if any other tracejava command is issued tracing is
enabled successfully. Therefore, it appears that dynamic
enablement of IC4J tracing is not working. Customer stated that
the trace could only be enabled via the administrative console,
which meant the server had to be recycled. A recycle of the
server to enable tracing everytime is not acceptable to the
customer.
Local fix
The workaround would be to enable IC4J tracing from startup
through the the WAS Administrative console and then to disable
it with dynamic WAS trace commands after the physical IC4J
ConnectionFactory was first accessed. Afterwards, to enable it
with dynamic WAS trace commands.

* Java), can not be dynamically *
* enabled, disabled, or modified. *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
The ability to dynamically modify trace settings is present when
working with most WebSphere Application Server (WAS) trace
settings.
Problem conclusion
Support was added to allow for dynamic modification of JCA
Resource Adapter trace settings, providing the same level of
functionality as for other WAS trace settings.
