![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Customer had modified variable: . <logMissingTranContext>false</logMissingTranContext> . in /WebSphere/V5R0M0/AppServer/properties/j2c.properties but the variable was not picked up by Websphere. . Connection Management was unable to pick up the WAS_PROPS_DIR environment variable, and did not pick up the change from j2c.properties.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The j2c.properties file can not be used * * by the user to customize Connection * * Management properties. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Connection Management properties which are configurable in the j2c.properties file in the WAS_PROPS_DIR directory can not be customized by the user. The problem is that the runtime looks for the j2c.properties file in the directory pointed to by the value of the WAS_PROPS_DIR variable, but the runtime can not access the value of the WAS_PROPS_DIR variable, and so it fails without an error message when trying to read j2c.properties. Thus these properties are hard-coded in the Connection Management runtime and can not be user-configured. For example there is no ability for the user to set the logMissingTranContext to 'false' in order to turn off J2CA0075 messages.Problem conclusion Changed WebSphere Application Server for z/OS server startup code to enable the WAS_PROPS_DIR variable to be accessed by the Connection Management runtime, enabling Connection Management to access the j2c.properties file. APAR PQ85020 is associated with SERVICE LEVEL W502004 of WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
