When following the path for " Synch to OS Thread Allowed "
.
     Servers > Application Servers > ${server-name}
     Additional Properties: Server Security
     Additional Properties: Server Level Security
     Additional Properties: z/OS Security Options
     Synch to OS Thread Allowed ■
We receive a NullPointerException
.
java.lang.NullPointerException
                                                              .
ADDITIONAL SYMPTOMS:
this same error occurs for all fields on this same panel:
remote identity , local identity , Synch to OS Thread Allowed
and Connection Manager RunAs Identity Enabled
Local fix
1) go all the way down to the zOS-security-options and note the
   settings, then close that browser session to clear any
   pointers
2) go into a NEW browser session on the admin console
3) go only as far as:
   servers ->
     application-servers ->
       server-name ->
         server-security ->
           server-level-security
4) select OK (even though no changes have been made)
5) select SAVE
6) select SYNC
7) Now go all the way down to the zOS-security-options again
8) make the changes you want and verify the other original
   settings from step-1 are set correctly
9) follow the normal OK -> SAVE -> SYNC process

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: java.lang.NullPointerException when     *
* saving Server Security property *
* changes, if Server Security was not *
*                      previously set up.                      *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
On the Administrative Console, a NullPointerException is
received when trying to save (Apply or OK) Server Security
properties for z/OS Security Options (Servers > Application
Servers > (server-name) > Server Security > Server Level
Security > z/OS Security Options) or zSAS Transport (Servers >
Application Servers > (server-name) > Server Security > zSAS
Transport). This only occurs when Server Security has not been
previously set up (i.e. there is no security.xml file at the
server level).
Problem conclusion
The code was attempting to access the internal representation of
the security.xml file, but it didn't exist. The code was
changed to test for its existence and create a new object, if
necessary, before attempting to access it.
