WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS support is required
for the new DB2 Universal JDBC Driver.
Problem conclusion
WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS now supports two new
JDBC providers: a non-XA DB2 Universal JDBC Driver Provider and
an XA DB2 Universal JDBC Driver Provider. In the case of the
non-XA provider, RRS is used for coordinating global
transactions when the provider is configured as a type 2 driver.
Using the new providers, installations can access DB2 version 7
or 8 databases either locally or remotely.

APAR PQ80079 requires a change to documentation:

The InfoCenter needs to be updated to reflect the new custom
property and DB2 Universal Database JDBC support provided
by APAR PQ80079.

Eight new articles will be added to the WebSphere Application
Server InfoCenter. To access the latest online documentation,
