 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)
The PostInstaller log located in /install_root/properties/service/logs directory (for example, W502011.log), shows the following error:

Could not load dll :
/WebSphere/V5R0M0/DeploymentManager/lib/libbboorb.so
: EDC5157I An internal error has occurred.
WASX7017E: Exception received while running file
"/WebSphere/V5R0M0/DeploymentManager/properties/service/bin/PQ89109_apply.jacl"
; exception information: com.ibm.bsf.BSFException: error while eval'ing
Jacl expression: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError:

Cause
It is possible that the cause of the problem is that there is not enough space to load the module. Often, more than one module indicated needs to be loaded (chain reaction), so it might need more available space than expected.

Resolving the problem

  1. Make sure the IBM® WebSphere® Application Server procs/JCL specifies REGION=0 and that there are no storage constrains (for example, IEFUSI exit)
  2. You might want to decrease the JVM size for the time of running the script to leave more storage for other things (in other words, BBOORB module we are trying to load in this example).

To change the JVM size, edit install_root/bin/setupCmdLine.sh script and add the following line after umask 0007 line:
export IBM_JAVA_OPTIONS="-Xmx128M -Xms128m"
