CEE3559S or UnsatisfiedLinkError running applyPTF.sh script
 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)
If you use the STEPLIB in your Server procedure to point to the IBM® WebSphere® Application Server for z/OS® modules you could experience this problem. When maintenance is applied, postInstaller (applyPTF.sh) may fail with the following errors for different WebSphere Application Server modules or different variables.
These are two examples of the errors you would receive:

Could not load dll : /zWebSphere/cell1/DeploymentManager/lib/libbboujsl.so
: EDC5157I An internal error has occurred.
java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException:
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError:
/zWebSphere/cell1/DeploymentManager/lib/libbboujsl.so: EDC5157I An internal error has occurred.

OR

CEE3559S External variable unguarded_tracepoint_check__11TraceObject was
not found in DLL bboras.

OR

java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: writeTrace
com.ibm.websphere.postinstaller.taskdefs.WriteToOperator.execute(WriteToOper

Cause
The data set names for WebSphere Application Server modules have been changed and now STEPLIB statement points to datasets that are incorrect.

Resolving the problem
Make sure you modify STEPLIB statements in setupCmdLine.sh script to point to the new WebSphere Application Server modules. This is a script invoked by the applyPTF.sh script. You will find the script in WAS_HOME/bin directory.

Note: You must modify it for each WAS_HOME

WAS_Root/AppServer/bin/setupCmdLine.sh
WAS_Root/DeploymentManager/bin/setupCmdLine.sh

Sample statements that should be modified:

STEPLIB='SYS1.WAS.W502008.SBBOLD2':$STEPLIB
STEPLIB='SYS1.WAS.W502008.SBBOLOAD':$STEPLIB
STEPLIB='SYS1.WAS.W502008.SBBOLPA':$STEPLIB
Export STEPLIB
