![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Sometimes a V5.x resources.xml file may contain an invalid deploymentDescriptor element nested within a builtin_rra block, such as the following: <resources.j2c:J2CResourceAdapter xmi:id="builtin_rra" name="WebSphere Relational Resource Adapter" ... <deploymentDescriptor xmi:id="Connector_1054132487569" displayName="WS_RdbResourceAdapter" vendorName="IBM" specVersion="1.5" eisType="RRA" version="6.0"> ... </deploymentDescriptor> ... </resources.j2c:J2CResourceAdapter> Such an element in a V5.1 resources.xml is invalid. If this file is present in a V6.0 dmgr, after a mixed node synchronization, the entire builtin_rra block is stripped out. This resources.xm file with the missing builtin_rra definition can lead to further problems.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V6.0.1 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Node sychronization between version * * 6.0.1 deployment manager and version * * 5.1 node agent may remove builtin_rra * * reference definition from * * resources.xml file. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Node synchronization removes the following block from version 5.1 resources.xml file: <resources.j2c:J2CResourceAdapter xmi:id="builtin_rra" name="WebSphere Relational Resource Adapter" description="Built-in Relational Resource Adapter for Container Managed Persistence" archivePath="${WAS_LIBS_DIR}/rsadapter.rar"> //Factories and propertySet definitions </resources.j2c:J2CResourceAdapter> This may lead to other problems. For instance if the user tries to migrate version 5.1 node with the bad resources.xml file - the BBOWMG3F migration job will fail during the PREUPGRD step with the following error: MIGR0300I: The migration function is starting to save the existing WebSphere Application Server environment. MIGR0302I: The existing files are being saved. org.eclipse.emf.ecore.xmi.UnresolvedReferenceException: Unresolved reference 'builtin_rra'. (file:/ssw/zWebSphere/w51cfg/AppServer/config/cells/w51/ nodes/w51n/resources.xml, 23, 366) ...Problem conclusion Node synchronization will not remove builtin_rra reference from resources.xml. APAR PK39862 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 6.0.2.21 of WebSphere Application Server V6.0.1 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
