![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description A key piece of storage is not being initialized in the optimized local communications layer of WebSphere on z/OS (aka local comm). If the storage happens to be a value of all zeros, then local comm is not functional and will hang any requests over local comm to the server.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V6.1.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IIOP requests to WebSphere Application * * Server from local clients may hang and * * timeout. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Requests from local clients to a WebSphere server may hang and timeout due to an initialization problem in which a key piece of storage is not initialized correctly. If this occurs, any requests over the optimized local communications path, also known as local comm, will fail. When running the dumpNameSpace utility, the following exception and minor code may be seen: org.omg.CORBA.COMM_FAILURE: vmcid: 0xc9c26000 minor code: A37Problem conclusion WebSphere initialization has been changed to properly initialize the storage in question. APAR PK45278 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.11 of WebSphere Application Server V6.1 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
