![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description The customization dialog instructions need to be changed to restrict who can run BBOWIVT job. Right now a required user id is "Any user ID". However, if BBOWIVT is run using id that does not belong to default WebSphere group, the following error is received: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /<WAS Root>/AppServer/logs/ivt.log (EDC5111I Permission denied.) . The instructions are going to be modified to instruct user to run the job with an WAS admin id or UID=0.Local fix Run the job with an WAS admin id or UID=0.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Runing the BBOWIVT job with any user * * id that does not belong to the default * * WebSphere group, the following error * * will occur: * * java.io.FileNotFoundException: * * /<WAS Root>/AppServer/logs/ivt.log * * (EDC5111I Permission denied.) * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Currently, in the dialog generated instructions file BBOSSINS, the user id required for BBOWIVT is "Any user ID". However, if BBOWIVT is run using any user id that does not belong to the default WebSphere group, it will end with an exception. The exception happens because ivt writes a log file to /<WAS Root>/AppServer/logs/ivt.log and the user id invoking ivt (invoked from BBOWIVT) does not have write access to the log file directory.Problem conclusion To correct this problem, the dialog skeleton file BBOSSINS will be updated to change the user id requirement for BBOWIVT from "Any user ID" to "UID=0 or &WASADMN.".
