APAR status
Closed as program error.

Error description
JCA connector applications developed using the WSADIE v4.1.1
tooling and then deployed to WebSphere z/OS 5.0, fail with
the following error when started:
 ..... " java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
           com/ibm/wsif/format/WSIFFormatPart " ....
Currently, JCA connector applications must be generated using
WSAD-IE at the same release level as WebSphere z/OS (e.g., 5.0).
As a result, the migration of 4.0 JCA connector applications
to WebSphere z/OS V5.0 is significantly impacted.

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
JCA connector applications developed by using the WSADIE V4.1.1
tooling to create a connector web service to connect to a
backend resource manager, will fail with the following error
when deployed and started on WebSphere Application Server V5.0
for z/OS:

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
     com/ibm/wsif/format/WSIFFormatPart

Currently, JCA connector applications must be generated using
WSAD-IE at the same release level as WebSphere for z/OS
(e.g., V5.0). As a result, the migration of 4.0 JCA connector
applications to WebSphere V5.0 for z/OS is significantly
impacted.
Problem conclusion
A WSIF compatability jar, wsif-compat.jar will be added to the
WAS V5.0 for z/OS <install-dir>/AppServer/lib directory. This
jar will contain the required classes needed to provide
connector application runtime compability from 4.0 to 5.0.
Customers will still be required to redeploy their EJBs as they
move from WebSphere V4.0.1 to V5.0, but will not need to
completely rebuild their connector web services under
WASD-IE 5.0.

APAR PQ74162 is associated with SERVICE LEVEL W500100 of
WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS.
