Error description When using a password phrase to connect to WebSphere, and the phrase has a trailing blank space, the authentication will fail.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V6.1 for z/OS on the z/OS V1.9 who are * * using password phrases in RACF. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a password phrase is used for * * authenticating a user to WebSphere, and * * the password phrase contains a trailing * * blank space, the authentication will * * fail. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The trailing blank space of the password phrase is being truncated, and therefore an invalid password phrase is used.Problem conclusion The code was changed to allow for trailing blank spaces and treat them as part of the password to be used for authentication. APAR PK56792 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.15 of WebSphere Application Server V6.1 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
