PQ89876: MAPPING MQ REFERENCES TO RESOURCES USING ZOS VERSION 502 (W502008 Z/OS) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description There are serious usability issues when mapping MQ references to resources. .. The check box selection does not work correctly. When checking the first box in the queue destination section, it checks the destination entries and the connection factory entry in the next section. .. If you map the first queue destination, it also updates the JNDI name for the second queue destination and the connection factory JNDI name in the next section. Any attempt to change the JNDI name for the second destination fails and reverts back to the original selection. .. This requires you to manually overtype the JNDI name for the second destination to correct. .. The resources displayed in the pull-down menu for both the destination and connection factory sections include entries for both the destinations and the connection factory. I believe this should only display the appropriate resources for each section. ..Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Administrative Console Resource * * Reference to Resource mapping for MQ * * resources shows resources of the wrong * * type in dropdown list, maps more * * resources than requested, or puts the * * puts wrong resource in the JNDI Name. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** In the Administrative Console, there are several problems with the Map Resource References to Resources task when working with MQ resources (Queues, Queue Connection Factories, Topics, and Topic Connection Factories). 1. Resources of all four types are shown in the dropdown list for each type. Only resources of the specific resource type being processed (e.g. Queue) should be shown. 2. When the "all" box is checked for ONE type of MQ resource, all MQ resources of ALL FOUR types are selected. Only the resources of the specific type for which the "all" box was checked should be selected. 3. The resource selected in the dropdown list for the last group of MQ resources on the page is mapped to all selected MQ resources of all types on the page. Only the selected resources of the type to which the dropdown list applies should be mapped.Problem conclusion The code was not distinguishing between the various types of MQ resources and was treating them as all equivalent. The code has been changed to handle each type separately. APAR PQ89876 is associated with SERVICE LEVEL W502012 of WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
