Error description During WebSphere for z/OS initial customization of the integral JMS server (in server customization panel 2 of 2), 5 digit port numbers are assigned to the JMS Server Queued Address port, Direct Address port and Security port. When the queue manager and channel initiator regions are started, the appserver builds an operator command to start the listener port: WMQX START LISTENER PORT(####) The port is actually 5 digits, the command was built with only the first 4 digits.Local fix Until the official fix is available, use port numbers that are 4 digits or less for JMS Server ports.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a 5-digits TCP/IP port number is * * specified for the JMS server listener * * port, only 4 digits are used causing * * the listener to start listening to a * * wrong port. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** During WebSphere for z/OS initial customization of the integral JMS server (in server customization panel 2 of 2), 5 digit port numbers are assigned to the JMS Server Queued Address port, Direct Address port and Security port.
