WebSphere Application Server V5 application install via scripting is not the same as the application install using the Administrative Console.
 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)
IBM® WebSphere® Application Server application install via scripting is not the same as the application install using the Administrative Console.

Cause
WebSphere Application Server V5 application install using scripting is not the same as the application install using the Administrative Console. When the application is deployed using the Administrative Console, the application stops, uninstalls, installs and starts successfully but using WSADMIN script with $AdminApp install MyEar -update is different.. After the successful update with uninstalling and installing the application, the application does not start.

Resolving the problem
The install process performed via the Administrative Console includes saving and checking the box for synchronization. To perform these steps using WSADMIN scripting, perform the nodeSync.sh for each node.
