Error description WebSphere Application Server for z/OS V5 support for the DB2 Universal JDBC Driver for z/OS.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for * * z/OS DB2 Universal JDBC Driver Support. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS support is required for the new DB2 Universal JDBC Driver.Problem conclusion WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS now supports two new JDBC providers: a non-XA DB2 Universal JDBC Driver Provider and an XA DB2 Universal JDBC Driver Provider. In the case of the non-XA provider, RRS is used for coordinating global transactions when the provider is configured as a type 2 driver. Using the new providers, installations can access DB2 version 7 or 8 databases either locally or remotely. APAR PQ80079 requires a change to documentation: The InfoCenter needs to be updated to reflect the new custom property and DB2 Universal Database JDBC support provided by APAR PQ80079.
