![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Customer has a cell spanning two LPARs and defines a new cluster with two new members, both on the same LPAR. - logon to admin console - Click Servers > Clusters - Click New buttononsole - new cluster name: xxxttt-cluster - Click Next button - new member name: xxx3ttt, on any available node; leave rest untouched (choosing template 'server1') - Click Apply button, and add another member: wxw5ttt, on the same node in a similar manner; click Apply button - Click Finish - Change some default short names to proprietary ones: for the cluster (BBOC001 to WXWTTT) and member names (BBOS* to XXX3TTT and XXX5TTT) - Save and sync to nodes The serverindex.xml file shows genericShortName="XXXTTT" for both cluster members. After a while in the admin console, a configuration problem message appears: CHKW2526E: Server entries having the same generic short name, XXXTTT, are present within the server index.Local fix Ignore the CHKW2526E message in this scenario.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CHKW2526E message when cluster is * * defined with more than 1 member on the * * same LPAR but the cell spans two LPARS. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The WebSphere validation logic checks for duplicate generic short names and if it finds one, it generates the following error:"CHKW2526E: Server entries having the same generic short name, XXXTTT, are present within the server index.". However, in the cluster case, the generic short names should actually match and the error message should not appear.Problem conclusion The validation logic was modified to eliminate the error message in the cluster case. APAR PK11763 is associated with SERVICE LEVEL W502034 of WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
