Error description
Intermittently, Websphere for zOS Servant region encounters
various abends ( S0C4, SA78, S283-4C ) and the produced symptom
dumps all point into RACF module IRRIA00. These abends may show
up when garbage collection cycle is started.
.
The failing TCB may have the following stack trace:
RUNAS::freeCredential(long)
Java_com_ibm_ws_security_core_EJBRunAs_freeCredential
com/ibm/ws/security/core/EJBRunAs.freeCredential(I)I
com/ibm/ws/security/auth/PlatformCredential.finalize()V
.
This is due to the first time an ACEE is to be deleted in the
PlatformCredential finalization path. APAR
PK04957 modified
the way the ACEE`s are removed. This causes a leak with the
ACEE`s. This problem can occur with security enabled for a run
where garbage collection happens for the PlatformCredential.
.
The Servant Region may issue RACF abend283-04C. The SR may
continue to run but to get rid of these abends, one may have to
restart the SR. This should clear up the RACF abends.
.
This apar only affects customers who have global security
enabled and also use sync to thread functionality.
This apar is a fix for
PK14144.

The servant region abends with codes 0C4,A78, or 283-4C in
RACF module IRRIA00 when global security is enabled. The failing
TCB would look like this,
Entry E Addr E Offset Statement Load Mod Service
RUNAS::freeCredential(long)
Java_com_ibm_ws_security_core_EJBRunAs_freeCredential
com/ibm/ws/security/core/EJBRunAs.freeCredential(I)I
com/ibm/ws/security/auth/PlatformCredential.finalize()V

This is caused by a bad ACEE pointer used in the initACEE RACF
call. The ACEE pointers table has not been cleaned up
appropriately prior to the initACEE invocation.
Problem conclusion
The ACEE pointers table is now cleaned up prior to usage.
