Error description
During WebSphere for z/OS Customization, the user enters
'ORB Listener host name' and 'HTTP transport host name'.
This information is entered in the 'Server Customization
(3 of 4)' panel, (panelid BBOWPS33). The panel will accept
'alpha' characters, but the information MUST be the 'dotted
decimal' address for the above 2 (ORB, and HTTP Transport)
'hosts', or a single asterisk '*'.
The 'Node host name' field on this panel will accept either
'alpha.alpha' format or 'dotted decimal' format.
Various errors will be encountered if they are not the dotted
decimal address.
Example #1:
When running the IVT batch job,
BPXBATCH SH /Was5DB2T/V5R0M0/AppServer/bin/ivt.sh -p 9080

In this case, the 'node host name' was specified as:

during the customization dialog.
.
Instead of the above symptoms, you may also observe the
controller region failing to start with the following two sets
of messages:
a) In the application controller region:

During WebSphere for z/OS Customization, the user enters
'ORB Listener host name' and 'HTTP transport host name'.
This information is entered in the 'Server Customization

The 'Node host name' field on this panel will accept either
'alpha.alpha' format or 'dotted decimal' format.
Various errors (documented in this APAR) will be encountered
if they are not the dotted decimal address.
Problem conclusion
The dialog panels will be updated so that it checks for dotted
decimal or "*" for the ORB Listener host name and
HTTP transport host name.
