Error description When a Container-managed authentication alias is not specified for a configured ConnectionFactory or datasource, warning message J2CA0114W is issued every time the application gets a connection. Since the absence of a Container-managed authentication alias is what triggers the use of the new WebSphere z/OS connector thread identity support provided in PQ74701, the issuance of the message has a significant impact on performance when an installation uses the thread identity support.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Issuance of message J2CA0114W impacts * * connector performance. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When a Container-managed authentication alias is not specified for a configured ConnectionFactory or datasource, warning message J2CA0114W is issued every time the application gets a connection. Since the absence of a Container-managed authentication alias is what triggers the use of the new WebSphere z/OS connector thread identity support provided in PQ74701 and is normal processing in this case, the repeated issuance of the message has a significant impact on performance when an installation uses the thread identity support.Problem conclusion Connection management processing was modified to only issue the J2CA0114W warning message for the absence of a Container managed authentication alias, if the use of ThreadIdentitySupport is not in effect. APAR PQ76705 is associated with SERVICE LEVEL W500104 of WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
