When creating a problem record against the Application
Server for z/OS product, you are presented with a panel containing the
following set of fields.
Accuracy and completeness of this information enhances our ability to
provide you with fast and efficient resolution to your issue.
The first bullet is information related to WebSphere Application
Server, and is followed by information for the operating system and other
supporting products.
- WebSphere Service Information
This data is located in the job output for each server's address space as
part of a message. The messages differ between V4.01 and V5.00. Message
BBOU0245I is used in V4.01, BBOM0007I for V5.0.
BBOU0245I CURRENT CB SERVICE LEVEL IS build level W401505 release
cb401_serv date 05/12/03 13:05:48.
BBOM0007I CURRENT CB SERVICE LEVEL IS build level W500100 release

When completing this field, include the build level, release and date
(bold text in this example).
For the most recent available Application Server service levels, refer to
the WebSphere support page. Scroll down to the Other documents box
for links to the APAR tables for different WebSphere releases. Choose the
appropriate one.
- Temp Fix Applied
At times, it is necessary for you to get an updated executable to
circumvent a problem because you are unable to wait until the
officially-packaged PTF is available. It is critical for the Level 2
representative to know this. Answer yes or no in this field; if you do
have a temporary fix, explain what you received. It might be an ++APAR, a
DLL for the HFS, load modules, jar files, or another type of fix.
- SM EUI
This is the level of the System Management Administration tool. To find
this, start the tool, select Help > About. The information looks like
this:
Version 4.01.023
This applies only to V4.0 because SM EUI has been replaced by a
browser-based WebSphere Administrative Console in V5.0. Because this is
browser based, the supporting code is on the host and has same versions as
WebSphere Application Server. This information is on the main page under
About your WebSphere Application Server. It looks like this:

Build Date: 5/22/03

- AAT
This is the level of the Application Assembly Tool. As with most
workstation-based tools, determine the version by selecting Help >
About. For AAT, it looks something like this:

This applies only to V4.0.
- Webserver
Identify the Web Server product and version you are using, if any.
Identifying the version depends on which product you have. If, for
example, you use the IBM HTTP Server for z/OS®, search the job log for
text similar to this:

............ Started at Fri Jul 25 08:01:25 2003

- Operating System
Indicate if you are running a version of OS/390® or z/OS and the specific
release level. The OS/390 release is something like 2.8, 2.9 or 2.10. The
z/OS release is something like 1.2, 1.3, and so forth. If you do not know
this, look in the system log output from SDSF or a similar product. This
message is near the top of the system log:

- DB2®
If you do not know this, contact your DB2 coordinator.
- JDBC
There is a Java™ command that lists the release, including the latest
installed APAR. The command is:
java COM.ibm.db2os390.sqlj.util.DB2DriverInfo
which produces the following output

Use the bold text for this field. Your OMVS environment must have
libpath set to point to the same JDBC as the WebSphere Application
Servers, such as /usr/lpp/db2710/lib. Also, the classpath must point to
the same jdbc classes, such as /usr/lpp/db2710/db2j2classes.zip
- MQSeries®
If using MQSeries and you do not know the release, contact your MQSeries
coordinator.
- Java Build
This is the driver build level of the base Java product on your system.
This value is issued in the job output for a J2EE server region. This
message is issued:
BBOJ0011I JVM Build is "J2RE 1.3.1 IBM OS/390 Persistent Reusable VM 765
build hm131s-20021005 (JIT enabled: jitc)".

- Security Product
This is the security product you use: IBM RACF®, CA's ACF2 or Top Secret,
or something else. If you use a CA product, read this article for
information on using CA security products with WebSphere Application
Server, "Customers using ACF2 for security product encounter ABEND0C4
abends migrating to service level 4 for WebSphere." This also includes
information on latest CA fixes you must have installed.
- RSVSF support
Do you have support for RSVSF? This is an IBM service that allows IBM
support to log into your host system; it allows both you and your support
representative to see the screen output, and gives either of you keyboard
control. This is useful in expediting a problem resolution.
