Error description Invalid GZIP header id bytesLocal fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of WebSphere Application Server for * * z/OS Version 6.1 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Compressed HTTP responses created from * * web applications are inadvertantly * * uncompressed before being sent back to * * the client. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Some WebSphere applications compress HTTP responses to minimize network traffic. The problem is that the network layer in the controller will uncompress the response before sending the data back to the client, thus defeating the purpose of compressed responses.Problem conclusion The HTTP Channel configuration has been updated in the controller to not uncompress responses being sent back to clients. APAR PK45920 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.12 of WebSphere Application Server V6.1 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
