PQ83407: ERROR WHEN CHANGING HTTP TRANSPORT SETTINGS VIA THE WEBSPHERE ADMINISTRATIVE CONSOLE | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Customer has one HTTP Transport defined for his application server. He selects Application Servers ---> servername ---> Web Container ---> HTTP Transports to display his list of HTTP Transports for that server. He then selects the only HTTP Transport in the list to display it's settings. When the settings are displayed the 'Enable SSL' box is not selected. If he now clicks on the 'Apply' button, he received the following error message: Enable/disable SSL action invalid: the two HTTP transports cannot both be defined as SSL enabled or SSL disabled. . After the error displays, the 'SSL Enabled' box is also selected (by the GUI). There are two issues here. First, the message states that there are two HTTP Transports when there is only one. Secondly, the customer does not feel that the GUI should force SSL to be enabled.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In the Administrative Console, if only * * one HTTP Transport is defined, clicking * * Apply or OK for it results in an error * * message even though there is no * * problem. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** In the Administrative Console, on the HTTP Transport collection page (Servers > Application Servers > servername > Web Container > HTTP Transports), if only one transport is defined, selecting that one then clicking either Apply or OK from the detail page results in the following message being incorrectly issued: Enable/disable SSL action invalid: the two HTTP transports cannot both be defined as SSL enabled or SSL disabled.Problem conclusion Only one SSL enabled transport and one non-SSL enabled transport are permitted. The logic to check this was incorrectly determining that two of the same type were present if only one transport is defined. The logic was corrected. APAR PQ83407 is associated with SERVICE LEVEL W502002 of WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
