PQ81881: NO MESSAGES ARE ISSUED WHEN THE HTTP TRANSPORT INPUT BUFFER HAS BEEN EXCEEDED WHILE INSTALLING AN APPLICATION FOR WEBSPHERE V5.0 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Attempting to install an application that is greater than 10m may cause a failure. This scenario had originally been addressed via APAR PQ74709, however this only addressed the output buffer of the HTTP Transport function within WebSphere Application Server for z/OS v5.0. PQ74709 did not address the input buffer. When a response is larger than 10m, a message is issued like the following: BBOO0167E Servant process could not send request/response because length of message (19645199) exceeded maximum (1085760). This message is not issued when the input buffer length is exceeded. The current behavior is that no message is issued in the servant region joblog, and the browser will display a 'Document contains no data' message.Local fix Applications may still be deployed that are larger than 10m, but the HTTP Transport buffer size needs to be adjusted. This setting is protocol_http_large_data_inbound_buffer details can be found in the WebSphere InfoCenter at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wasinfo/index.jsp?deplo yment=zos under the document 'Setting custom properties for an HTTP transport'. . This setting should be set as an environment variable rather than a custom property. See PQ82081 for more information.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When the HTTP input buffer is exceeded * * no error is issued to indicate why the * * request failed. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Customer exceeded the HTTP input buffer when trying to install a large application. The request failed but the server did not issue an error log entry indicating why, unlike when the HTTP output buffer is exceeded.Problem conclusion Issue an error log entry indicating that the HTTP request exceeded the HTTP input buffer size. Programmer response: Increase the value specified on the protocol_http_large_data_inbound_buffer variable and re-start the server. If installing an application, try installing locally from the server. BBOO0272E HTTP REQUEST COULD NOT OBTAIN LARGE DATA INPUT BUFFER, CURRENTLY Explanation: Controller needed the HTTP Large data input buffer to read in a large HTTP request but it was currently in use for another request. Programmer response: Try request again. ________________________________________________________________ APAR PQ81881 is associated with SERVICE LEVEL W502002 of WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
