PQ79646: NO WAY TO SET LIBPATH VARIABLE IN THE ADMIN CONSOLE APPLICATION. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Currently, there is no way to add entries to the LIBPATH environment variable from the admin console application. At server startup, the LIBPATH specified in the admin console is overwritten by the contents of the server_region_libpath and control_region_libpath environment variables. This poses problems for customers who need to load DLLs in their server but in situations where you cannot use the shared library functions, such as loading a DLL from another DLL.Local fix Manually update the variables.xml for the server to add the path to the DLL required to the server_region_libpath entry. The change should be made to append the new path to the path' 'WAS_SERVER_ONLY_server_region_libpath' entry in the node level variables.xml. You should only add your entry to this variable and not remove any existing entries. Removal of existing entries will cause problems within the server. After updating the variables.xml, you must run the c2n script in order for the changes to be synchronized within the node.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The Administrative Console does not * * support the ability to append to the * * was.env variable: server_region_libpath * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Support was added to take the LIBPATH JVM Enironment Variable and append it to the server_region_libpath.Problem conclusion Code was changed to ensure the server_region_libpath was settable using the Administrative Console, by use of the LIBPATH server environment variable. Whatever value is set is appened to server_region_libpath. APAR PQ79646 is associated with SERVICE LEVEL W502000 of WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS.
