![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Customer had changed there JAVA_HOME variable to point to a different java path in the hfs. The control_region_libpath, and server_region_libpath in was.env were not updated to reflect correct java path.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When changing the JAVA_HOME variable * * to point to a different java path in * * the HFS, the control_region_libpath * * and server_region_libpath in was.env * * are not updated to correctly reflect * * the new JAVA_HOME. * * In addition, to support PRR(Peer * * Restart and Recovery), * * all references to WAS_INSTALL_ROOT * * must be made symbolic. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The customer is unable to easily switch the JAVA_HOME, due to hardcoded references to the path found in the control and server region classpath, as well as jvm options in the control.jvm.options and servant.jvm.options. To support PRR between a WebSphere Application Server V5.1 for z/OS and a V5.0 node the WAS_INSTALL_ROOT in node-level variables must be changed to point to the local recovery node's mount point name, rather than the peer node's mount point name. As such all references to WAS_INSTALL_ROOT must be made symbolic.Problem conclusion The node level XML files containing references to JAVA_HOME and WAS_INSTALL_ROOT have been modified. APAR PQ89109 is associated with SERVICE LEVEL W502011 of WebSphere Application Server V5.0 for z/OS.Temporary fix Comments
