![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description The WebSphere for z/OS controller region is leaking host names in Heap Pool 1. The host names are encoded in EBCDIC. - The LE HEAP POOL TRACE for heap pool 1 shows the following call stack for these host names: Timestamp: 2006/08/18 16:50:28.301426 Type: GET Cell Address: 51FDC248 Cpuid: 02 Tcb: 006BD828 CALL NAME CALL ADDRESS CALL OFFSET CEEVGQTH 0B347D40 00000000 SupportedSecurities::processCSItag(c1C873EB8 00000DCE SupportedSecurities::initSupportedSe1C8821A0 00002688 SecurityManager::initializeSessionSe1C885CD8 00000516 ORB_Request::comm_cr_sclt_locate_req1BBC44C0 00000502 ORB_Request::comm_outbound_locate() 1BBC2B68 00001546 CORBA::Request::Request(CORBA::Objec1B9CDD98 000002C6 CosTransactions::Coordinator_ORBProx1C2F04E8 0000005E BBOT_TransactionFactoryRep::genericC1C46AEA0 000025B2 BBOT_TransactionFactoryRep::recreate1C46EB70 00000000Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V6.0.1 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Storage leak in LE Heap Pool 1 of * * Hostnames in EBCDIC, cached credentials * * and SupportedSecurities objects on * * WebSphere Application Server for z/OS * * in the controller. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The LE HEAP POOL TRACE for heap pool 1 shows the following call stack for these host names: Timestamp: 2006/08/18 16:50:28.301426 Type: GET Cell Address: 51FDC248 Cpuid: 02 Tcb: 006BD828 CALL NAME CALL ADDRESS CALL OFFSET CEEVGQTH 0B347D40 00000000 SupportedSecurities::processCSItag c1C873EB8 00000DCE SupportedSecurities::initSupportedSe1C8821A0 00002688 SecurityManager::initializeSessionSe1C885CD8 00000516 ORB_Request::comm_cr_sclt_locate_req1BBC44C0 00000502 ORB_Request::comm_outbound_locate 1BBC2B68 00001546 CORBA::Request::Request CORBA::Objec1B9CDD98 000002C6 CosTransactions::Coordinator_ORBProx1C2F04E8 0000005E BBOT_TransactionFactoryRep::genericC1C46AEA0 000025B2 BBOT_TransactionFactoryRep::recreate1C46EB70 00000000 While fixing the reported issue other related storage problems were found and resolved. There were problems with: a. the credential bucket hashing and "cached" credentials being leaked in HEAP POOL 1 b. CSIv2 context creation issues that led to SupportedSecurities objects being leaked in HEAP POOL 1Problem conclusion The hostnames are cleaned up, the hash bucket algorithm was changed to cleanup in a mark and sweep pattern to clear out objects that were being "cached" and never freed, and the process for getting a CSIv2 security context has been updated to no longer leak SupportedSecurities objects.
