Solving Error BPEU0024E in the Process Choreographer Web client

Problem(Abstract)
You have encountered error BPEU0024E while using the WebSphere® Process Choreographer Web client. This document explains how you might resolve this error.
 
Resolving the problem
There are three known scenarios in which the error BPEU0024E appears. In each case, you receive an error message similar to:

BPEU0024E: Could not establish a connection to local business process EJB. Reason: ''Naming Exception''

  • Scenario 1:
    Your business process container might not be installed and configured.

    Solution:

    Contact your WebSphere System Administrator. He can install and configure the business process container by performing the following steps:

    1. Open the WebSphere Administrative Console and select Servers > Application Servers. A list of all server instances appears.
    2. Click the server on which you want to install and configure a business process container.
    3. In the "Additional Properties" section, select Business Process Container.
    4. At the bottom of the screen, select Business Process Container Install Wizard.
    5. Follow the instructions on the screen to install and configure a business process container.
  • Scenario 2:
    Your business process container might not be up and running properly.

    Solution:
    Have your WebSphere Administrator perform the following steps:

    1. Open the WebSphere Administrative Console and select Applications > Enterprise Applications. A list of all installed applications appears.
    2. Check if the application "BPE_Container_<host>_<server>" is started (where <host> is the name of the host where your business process container is installed and <server> is the name of the WebSphere server where your container is installed).
    3. If the "BPE_Container_<host>_<server>" application is not started:
      • Click the check box next to the application.
      • Click Start at the top of the list of enterprise applications.
  • Scenario 3:
    Your naming service might not be up and running properly.

    Solution:
    Have your WebSphere Administrator perform the following steps:

    1. Open the WebSphere Administrative Console and select Servers > Application Servers > <server> > Server Components > Name Server (where <server> is the name of your WebSphere server instance). The panel with the name server properties appears. On that panel, check the properties of your name server.
    2. The WebSphere InfoCenter contains more information about name service problems.
