Error description Sometime when updating the mapping of users for an enterprise application in the admin console the setting are not saved to the ibm-application-bnd.xmi file. You will not be prompt to save the changes after you press the "Apply" or "Ok" buttons. Because of the problem above you will not be able to changes the security settings in the ear file. This is Defect number 162951Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * 5.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a user edits an application a * * NullPointerException may be seen in * * admin clients and edit may not take * * effect. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When a user installed their application with their own installer, there is some possiblity that they do not create a data source entry in the binding. (ibm-application-bnd.xmi) The code currently throws a NullPointerException.Problem conclusion Changed code in: DataSourceFor10CMPBeansHeNullPointerExceptionlper.java to handle the null pointer so the NullPointerException is no longer thrown.Temporary fix sent test fix as part of 4-18 SM Cumulative FixComments
