![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Resource Analyzer (RA) does not shut down properly under certain circumstances. If the tool is used to access a node that is not available or does not have the adminserver running, RA issues the appropriate error message. However, when the tools is them shut down, the GUI windows does go away, but the process continues to run, consuming considerable resources. The process must be killed manually.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server Tivoli * * Performance Viewer Users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Tivoli Performance Viewer will not * * close properly when it is opened for * * replaying log files. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When Tivoli Performance Viewer is not connected to the application server it can replay log files. If the tool fails to connect to the applications server, it will go to log replay mode. In this scenario, if the tool is closed it goes into a loop mode and doesn't shut down properly.Problem conclusion Added code to check if PmiClient is not null before calling close on PmiClient. The pmiclient.close will not be called when the tool is not connected to the appserver.Temporary fix Comments
