Creating a cluster using a template Application Server
 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)
After creation of a cluster, does the WebSphere® Application Server that serves as the template become a cluster member?

Resolving the problem
A cluster is a set of servers that are managed together and that participate in Work Load Management. When you create a cluster, you make copies of an existing Application Server configuration template. The template is probably an Application Server that you have previously configured.
You are offered the option of making that server a member of the cluster. It is recommended to keep that server available only as a template, because the only way to remove a cluster member is to delete it. Keeping the original intact allows you to reuse that configuration to rebuild.
