Error description
addNode.sh fails with "DMU0111E: com.ibm.websphere.management.
exception.AdminException" when <WAS_ROOT> directory includes
"cells" or "nodes" directory. The customer set <WAS_BASE_ROOT>
to "/test/wfs/cells/wfs100/wfs11_node" and <WAS_DMGR_ROOT> to
"/test/wfs/cells/wfs100/wfs1_manager". Before executing
addNode.sh, there is only one directory whose name is the same
as cell name. When executing addNode.sh "wfs100" directory was
created under <WAS_DMGR_ROOT>/config/cells directory,
so there are two directory after failing addNode.sh command.
Local fix Problem summary
****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server Version *
* 5.0.2 and 5.1.1 users who try to use the *
* addNode command when *
* "<was or dmgr_install_root>" contains *
* a "cells" folder *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The addNode.sh command fails when *
* "was or dmgr_ install_ root" contains *
* "cells" folder *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
Steps to recreate the problem:
1. Install WAS-base of Network Deployment V5.1.0 setting
<WAS_base_Root> to "/test/wfs/cells/wfs100/wfs11_node".
2. Install WAS-dmgr of Network Deployment V5.1.0 setting
<WAS_dmgr_Root> to "/test/wfs/cells/wfs100/wfs1_manager
*The point of recreating this problem is to specify
"./cells/.. directory as <WAS_base_Root> and <WAS_dmgr_Root>
directory.
3. Execute addNode.sh command under <WAS_base_Root>/bin
directory.
addNode.sh command fails with the following error message:
Error synchronizing repositories
com.ibm.websphere.management.exception.
AdminException: ADMU0005E: Error synchronizing repositories
Root cause:
When we issue an addNode command createDocuments() method for
copying the configuration documents from the node to the cell,
the path of the documents to be copied is taken from the
"/cells/" folder of the "was_install_root " not from the
"was_install_root/config ". Because of this, it is creating one
"wfs100" folder in the "Dmgr_install_root/config" and failing
synchronization.
Problem conclusion
Code has been corrected to copy from the path
"was_install_root/config "
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion
in fixpack 5.02.15 and 5.1.1.8.
