Error description
MQ Queue Connection Factory configuration
page, Host and Port fields can be left as blanks if the
transport type is BINDINGS. Problem recreated on 5.0.1 and 5.0.
0 with MQ 5.3 on W2K.
Local fix
workaround is simple (remove the properties) and, in
the admin console, the HOST, PORT and CHANNEL properties at
least say
they are for client connections only and the help directs
administrators to the "MQ Using Java" book which clearly states
that
all four properties are not for client connections and setting
any of
them will result in an exception.

* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
A problem occurs when a MQ Connection Factory is defined.
The CCSID and CHANNEL properties are not removed when Bindings
mode is used as the Transport Type for MQ Connection Factories.
Problem conclusion
The JMS Bindings runtime was updated to remove the CCSID and
CHANNEL properties before binding the MQ Connection Factory
when the transport type of Bindings is specified.
