![]() APAR status Closed as fixed if next. Error description Shift_JIS (Japanese) is displayed causing character destruction. Implementation of suppress-error-charset setting for IHS 2.0.x, to match the behavior of that setting in IHS 1.3.x and Apache 1.3.x is needed.Local fix Problem summary Third-party module was using an API to set the HTTP response document to non-ISO-8859-1 text. The API has no provision for declaring the actual charset of the response document, and IHS always set the charset to ISO-8859-1. There was no provision for specifying that the charset is actually something different. Meanwhile, Apache 1.3 and IHS 1.3 had a suppress-error-charset setting to avoid setting the charset to ISO-8859-1. In that case, as long as the response document contained tags to declare the proper charset to the browser, it could be displayed properly.Problem conclusion Temporary fix Comments This issue was resolved by providing a suppress-error-charset setting as with Apache 1.3 and IHS 1.3. The PK07831 cumulative update to IHS 2.0.42.x and IHS 2.0.47.x contains this suppress-error-charset setting.
