Error description
Testing Orbix interoperability with WAS and has run into a
problem when accessing an EJB that is deployed in a
cluster. The message traffic shows that the structure of
the IOR is incorrect and will not work with ORBIX. It seems
that the IOR contains embedded WLM information and that is
causing the IONA ORB to fail.

****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
Application Server doesn't interoperate with non-Application
Server ORBs or C++ clients when the application is in a
clustered Application Server environment. The problem is with
how WLM encapsulates information in the context stream before
sending it back to a client. The result is the client ORB
receiving the information is unable to accept the
mis-aligned encapsulated information. If the receiving ORB
attempts to use the TAG_ALTERNATE_IIOP_ADDRESS, it will be
unable to parse it since the endian value preceeding the
struct containing the host/port is missing. The result is the
receiving ORB may fail to be able to receive the IOR for the
remote reference it is attempting to aquire. The resulting
exception would vary depending on the third party ORB being
used.
Problem conclusion
The context stream WLM used was not CORBA compliant enough.
