Problem(Abstract) |
During the installation process of IBM® HTTP Server, GSKIT
fails to install. No error messages are written to the logs to provide any
indication of where the failure occurred. |
|
|
|
Cause |
On the Windows® platform, if a previous installation of
GSKIT was not completely uninstalled, the remaining GSKIT components could
trick the installer that GSKIT is already installed and exit the
installation process. |

Resolving the
problem |
Confirm that GSKIT was not installed by checking to see if
the following directory exists:
Drive:\Program Files\ibm\GSK# (where # denotes the version
number). If it does not exist continue.
- Confirm that there are no registry entries for GSKIT. To do this, go
to Start > Run, enter regedit then click OK.
- Go to the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\IBM\GSK# (#
denotes the version being installed).
- If this key exists, open it and click on the entry,
currentVersion.
- In the right hand panel look for the entry installPath. This
entry denotes the location where GSKIT was installed. Verify that GSKIT
does not exist in this location. If it does not then continue.
- Backup your registry, then delete the GSK# key.
- Install GSKIT.
