![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Inter-op testing (5.0 -> 5.1) has highlighted a problem with activity sessions across multiple servers.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of the Activity Sessions service * * in WebSphere Application Server Enterprise * * Edition 5.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Incorrect outcome when using Activity * * Sessions that span multiple servers. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** This APAR addresses 3 problems: 1. An ActivitySessionResetException was being thrown when ending an Activity Session with an endMode of reset. An ActivitySessionResetException should only be thrown if all resources are reset after ending an Activity Session with an endMode of checkpoint. 2. Ending an Activity Session with an endMode of checkpoint, where an LTC is scoped by the Activity Session, but has no resources enlisted with it, was resulting in an ActivitySessionResetException being thrown incorrectly. 3. A MixedOutcomeException was being thrown incorrectly if all resources fail while ending the session with an endMode of checkpoint.Problem conclusion The ActivitySession component will be changed so that checkpoint and reset outcomes received from subordinate servers are now tracked correctly - previously only subordinate failure outcomes were being tracked. This fix will be delivered in Service Pack 5 for WebSphere Application Server Enterprise, Version 5.0.2. It is not applicable to WebSphere Business Integration Server Foundation, Version 5.1 and upwards.Temporary fix Comments
