No cluster target found for your application when creating a cluster prior to WebSphere Application Server 5.0.2 Cumulative Fix 7 (5.0.2.7)

Problem(Abstract)
Prior to WebSphere® Application Server 5.0.2 Cumulative Fix 7 (5.0.2.7), or APAR PQ89703, you will receive an error when creating a cluster from multiple nodes.

Cause
The node on which a server resides is not taken into account when making it part of the cluster. If there are two servers with the same name, on two different nodes during cluster creation, the wrong server might be chosen. The server not selected to be part of the cluster now believes it is part of the cluster and the other server that is selected to be part of the cluster now knows nothing of the cluster.

Resolving the problem
To correct this, the two servers can be removed and new cluster members can be created from the existing cluster.
Note: This problem has been corrected in WebSphere Application Server 5.0.2 Cumulative Fix 7 (5.0.2.7), which can be installed prior to cluster creation to keep the problem from occurring.
