large
Downloadable files
Abstract
The default value of JSP body content buffer is too large
(8K). Reduce the size to 512 Bytes.
The change will reduce memory consumption for applications that use large
number of JS
Download Description
PQ98460 resolves the following problem:
ERROR DESCRIPTION:
In the JSP implementation, the default buffer size for BodyContentImpl is
8K. In later version (V6.X) the buffer size is set to a more
memory-friendly 512 bytes. This APAR is to retrofit this change to the
most recent Version 5.0 codebases.
PROBLEM SUMMARY:
USERS AFFECTED:
WebSphere® Application Server applications that use tags.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Each tag body consumes 8KB memory even if most are very small. This causes
large memory consumption for a Web application which uses lots of body
tags.
RECOMMENDATION:
The default body content buffer was 8KB.
PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
Reduced the default buffer size to 512 bytes, which suits most body tags.
This change should improve memory consumption.
The fix should be in 5.0.2.10 and 5.1.1.4.
