Error description
IIS plugin for WebSphere 5.0 sometimes corrupts a POST request.
This happens usualy under heavy load & more often in the body
of the POST >64 KB so that the request is being chunked by
the plugin (Plug-in uses 64k buffer to store the request data
before it forwards the data to the appserver).
.
This defect is very likely in this releases:
a) WebSphere 4.0
b) WebSphere 5.0
c) WebSphere 5.1
d) WebSphere 6.0 (not released in the market yet)
.
The corrupted POST can be observed only it the tcp/ip trace
between the plugin & the AppServerwhen compare POST data to
the tcp/ip trace between the client (browser) & the plug-in.
.
No errors in the plugin trace, the back-end Application will
process corrupted POST data & outcome is unpredictable.
Sometimes customer's application integrates some data verifying
logic so that corrupted POST can be caught & logged in the
AppServer stdout & stderr.
