* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A StaleConnectionException causes a *
* connection pool performance problem. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
When a StaleConnectionException occurs on a connection, the
connection wrapper is marked to be destroyed. The destroy
value is never reset and the next time the connection wrapper
is used, the new connection will be destroyed after it is
done being used.
This results in a performance problem with excessive amount of
connections being created and destroyed until the server is
recycled.
Problem conclusion
The destroy value on the connection wrapper is reset to false
when the connection is destroyed.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion
in 5.02.10 and 5.1.1.4.
