Closed as program error.
Error description
When the Runtime trace panel is used to change the trace
values the panel does not show the values that were changed.
It shows the default values for Maximum File Size and
Maximum Number of Historical Files. However, the correct
value are used. The correct tracefile name and trace options
are shown.

This scenario shows the problem.
- Start the WebSphere Application Server Administrative
- Expand Troubleshooting
- Click Logs and Traces
- Pick a server
- Click Diagnostic Trace
- Select Runtime tab
- Fill in the Trace Specification box
- Select File and fill in the Maximum File Size, Maximum
Number of Historical Files and File Name
- Click Apply
- The correct trace specification will be set and the file
name with the correct specification will be created.
- Now go to another Administrative Console panel and then
come back to this one.
- You will see that the Maximum File Size and Maximum
Number of Historical Files have changed back to the
default values.
- The values for these 2 fields should not have changed.
Local fix
The values that were entered are the ones that are being used.
Just ingore the values shown on the panel.

Problem conclusion
This code has been corrected. This is fixed in fixpack 5.0.2.3
