How to "RESTRICT" IBM HTTP Server version information

Problem(Abstract)
The following ServerTokens directive can be used to "RESTRICT" the IBM® HTTP Server version information provided to the client in each response header sent by the Web server.
 
Resolving the problem
  • For releases of IBM HTTP Server V1.3

    Syntax:

    ServerTokens Minimal|ProductOnly|OS|Full

    Examples:

    ServerTokens Prod[uctOnly]

    Server sends (e.g.): Server: Apache

    ServerTokens Min[imal]

    Server sends (e.g.): Server: Apache/1.3.0

    ServerTokens OS

    Server sends (e.g.): Server: Apache/1.3.0 (Unix)

    ServerTokens Full (or not specified)

    Server sends (e.g.): Server: Apache/1.3.0 (Unix) PHP/3.0 MyMod/1.2

  • For releases of IBM HTTP Server V2.0 and V6.0

    Syntax:

    ServerTokens Major|Minor|Min[imal]|Prod[uctOnly]|OS|Full

    Examples:

    ServerTokens Prod[uctOnly]

    Server sends (e.g.): Server: Apache

    ServerTokens Major

    Server sends (e.g.): Server: Apache/2

    ServerTokens Minor

    Server sends (e.g.): Server: Apache/2.0

    ServerTokens Min[imal]

    Server sends (e.g.): Server: Apache/2.0.41

    ServerTokens OS

    Server sends (e.g.): Server: Apache/2.0.41 (Unix)

    ServerTokens Full (or not specified)
