Error description
clone() call is the source of the high cpu due to DRS defect
Local fix Problem summary
****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server *
* using HTTP Session memory to memory or *
* Dynamic Cache replication with push *
* or push-pull sharing policy. *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: High cpu on Linux with low load and *
* the replication service configured. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
After completing a load test on a Linux installation, the cpu
load remained high. Further investigation found a WebSphere
Application Server thread seemingly spinning. This stack
trace for this thread showed DRSPeerCoordinator.pingPeers()
executing a call to clone() for a LinkedList. This was
discovered with IBM JDK 142 SR2 but may not be limited to this
platform/JDK combination.
Problem conclusion
The call to clone() was replaced with similar function.
