How to determine the version of the DataDirect Connect or SequeLink JDBC Driver for WebSphere Application Server
 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)
How can the version of the DataDirect Connect or SequeLink JDBC Driver be determined?

Resolving the problem
To determine the version of the driver that is being used, first place all of the JDBC driver jar files on the classpath (base.jar, sqlserver.jar, and util.jar for the Connect driver and sljc.jar for the SequeLink driver).

Then run Java <driver class name> as shown below. For the WebSphere®-branded Connect driver, the class name will be: com.ibm.websphere.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver. The package name will vary if the Microsoft®-branded driver or the unbranded DataDirect Connect driver are used.

Check the sqlserver.jar for the package name if the WebSphere-branded driver is not being used. For the SequeLink driver, the class name will be: com.ddtek.jdbc.sequelink.SequeLinkDriver.

Note that for older versions of SequeLink (before 5.3) the class name was: com.merant.sequelink.jdbc.SequeLinkDriver. Also, these are not the class names that should be used for the implementation class when installing a JDBC Provider in the WebSphere Administrative Console.
