![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description /opt/WebSphere/Application/mqjms.trc grow large without any trace setting. This has been fixed with patch for Defect 155550. Please verify if it will be in ptf1 and close this APAR. Thanks.Local fix N/AProblem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V5, with the Embedded Messaging Server * * installed. (Note that this option is * * installed by default) * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: At server startup, a file called * * mqjms.trc is created in the * * WebSphere/AppServer/ directory. In * * most cases this file is left empty; * * sometimes it becomes populated with * * trace information from the Embedded * * Messaging client. In this latter case * * it can become very large and consume * * large amounts of disk space. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** If a customer is seeing a file called mqjms.trc in the AppServer directory, then they are suffering this problem. Usually it is benign, however if the file becomes populated then it will grow unboundedly. This is caused by a defect in the JMSServer code, which accidentally triggers MQ JMS code to create this file. Internally, we have only been able to recreate the case where this file is created but left empty, and it's presently unknown what causes the file to become populated. The fix has been observed to solve this latter case as well.Problem conclusion This problem is fixed in WAS v5 PTF1, which a customer experiencing difficulties should apply. The mqjms.trc file can safely be deleted.Temporary fix Comments
