Problem(Abstract) |
The addNode.sh or addNode.bat scripts fail with
NullPointer error when client tried to federate the node into the cell,
with the following error:

Cause |
The filetransfer.ear application tag was missing
in serverindex.xml file and filetransfer application was not
running.

Resolving the
problem |
To resolve this problem you should check your
configuration to make sure that:
- Check the
install_root/config/cell_name/applications/
to ensure that filetransfer.ear directory is exit in config.
- Check the serverindex.xml file to validate the
filetransfer.ear is deployed. Open the serverindex.xml file and verify
that the following line is present:
<deployedApplications>filetransfer.ear/deployments/filetransfer</deployedApplications>
- Open the administrative console to verify the filetransfered
application is running.
If any of above is not configured correctly, reinstall the
filetransfer.ear application. For directions, see Reinstalling
