Answer |
Once you have your WebSphere Application Server Express
instance running and tested with the internal http server, you may wish to
use a HTTP Server in front of your WebSphere Application Server.
To do this follow these step to configure your HTTP Server.
1) http://<your iSeries machine>:2001/HTTPAdmin
2) Click Create HTTP Server
3) Select Next (leave as Apache)
4) Name it (for example "newplugin")
5) Click next until finished (Please take notice of the value of the
listener port of the HTTP Server)
6) Display the configuration file (bottom of page left under tools)
7) Notice no references to WebSphere
8) Click WebSphere Application Server (just above tools)
9) Select WebSphere Application Server - Express 5.0 radio button then use
the list box to select the WebSphere instance that already works.
10) Click apply then OK
11) Click to the Application Server tab and select the instance you
selected on the HTTP Server tab.
12) Click on the green arrow (upper left) to start.
13) Go to the browse and enter the URL with port to the AppServer so that
you know that it works with out the http server.
14) Now remove the port value and try it again with the HTTP Server port
value. (Note if you do not wish to use the port, please make sure the port
is 80 when configuring your HTTP Server. Step #5)
