tperfviewer will not display any data if global security is enabled
 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)
This technote describes how to run tperfviewer when Global Security is enabled on the IBM® WebSphere® Application Server or Network Deployment system.

Cause
This problem occurs when Global Security is enabled on the Deployment Manager or Application Server that tperfViewer. If one tries to run tperfviewer (Tivoli® Performance Viewer) to gather data from a system with global security enabled, then no GUI will be displayed. The Tivoli Performance Viewer (formerly Resource Analyzer) is a Java™ application. It uses the sas.client.properties file for its security configuration. This file must be modified to specify the userid and password required by the server being monitored.

Resolving the problem
See the WebSphere Information Center article entitled,
Running your monitoring applications with security enabled

This article instructs you how to update the sas.client.properties file; it is the file on the machine running tperfviewer that needs to be modified.
