Local fix Problem summary
****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: All Websphere Application Server users. *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The PMI performance servlet was *
* unable to properly connect to *
* different hosts, if the initial *
* connection information was not *
* properly provided. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
When the application server PMI performance servlet was
erroneously told to connect to a server, all subsequent use of
that instance of the performance servlet would fail to properly
connect. This was due to the fact that the servlet was
creating an internal connection object on the first pass and
reusing that object for all subsequent requests.
Problem conclusion
Code was added to do parameter checking so that on each
request we verify that the internal connection client is in
sync with the request parameters. If the code detects a
change, a new connection client is created based on the new
request parameters.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion
in 5.02.11 and 5.1.1.4.
