Process Choreographer staff activities cannot be claimed
 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)
Staff activities cannot be claimed, although the business process started to navigate successfully.

Resolving the problem
When staff activities cannot be claimed, although the business process started to navigate successfully, a possible cause is that the WebSphere® Application Server security is not enabled.

Staff activities require that WebSphere security is enabled and the User Registry is configured.

Messages of the following kind in the SystemOut.log file indicate that WebSphere security might be disabled. However, if this message is missing, it does not guarantee that security is enabled:
BPEE0057I: Activity 'MyStaffActivity' of processes 'MyProcess' has been stopped because of an unhandled failure......

You can check and configure the WebSphere security settings in the Administrative Console under Security->Global Security. It must be enabled.

You might also need to configure the User Registry if this was not already done before. You can do this under Security->User Registries. See the WebSphere Information Center for further details about the User Registry.
