Error description The WASService.exe will throw an error, "Failed to stop service" even when the service properly stopped.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server users on the * * Windows platform who use the commandline * * interface to WASService.exe to stop the * * service. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When stopping the WASService from the * * command line an error is thrown * * stating "Failed to stop service." In * * actually the service is stopped * * successfully. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When the WASService.exe tries to query the service to see if it stopped succussfully, a bad return code is received because of access permissions.Problem conclusion Granted permission to query the service status to the Service Control Manager handle.Temporary fix Comments
