What is the HARD_SERVER_LIMIT for the IBM HTTP Server?
 Technote (FAQ)

Problem
With Apache, you give a value to HARD_SERVER_LIMIT at compile time. What value does this have when the IBM® HTTP Server is compiled?

Solution
The HARD_SERVER_LIMIT sets the maximum number of simultaneous requests that can be served by the HTTP Server. This is normally set at compile time. The following is a table of known compile time HARD_SERVER_LIMIT values:

IBM HTTP Server 1.3.6 versions: 2048
IBM HTTP Server 1.3.12 versions: 2048
IBM HTTP Server 1.3.19 versions: 4096
IBM HTTP Server 1.3.26 versions: 4096
IBM HTTP Server 1.3.28 versions: 4096

For IBM HTTP Server V2.0 and V6 releases, the HARD_SERVER_LIMIT has been replaced by a ServerLimit runtime configuration directive. The maximum value that can be assigned is 20000.
