Problem(Abstract) |
On Red Hat Enterprise Linux® Server 4, the Japanese Input
method might look like it malfunctions on wizards. |
|
|
|
Cause |
On Linux operating systems, the
Shift+Space ordinarily works as a switch to toggle between SBCS
character entry and DBCS character entry, also known as the DBCS Input
Method.
In the IBM® WebSphere® installation wizard or any other WebSphere
Application Server wizard,
sometimes Shift+Space seems to malfunction and only SBCS
character entry is possible. |

|
Resolving the
problem |
Perform the following workaround:
- Click the Input Language icon on the top panel of the desktop; this
icon is located to the left of the exclamation icon. In the Japanese
locale, ordinarily Ja is displayed there.
- Select Japanese from the menu.
- Go back to the wizard and check if Shift+Space now works as a language
switch.
- If the problem persists after repeating steps 1 through 3, exit the
wizard and retry.
