Running as non-root specific MustGather information:

1. Verify that the servers work when running as root. Failures when running as non-root can manifest themselves as permission violations or lack of authority errors posted in the logs.

2. For Network Deployment editions only: What process or processes (deployment manager, application server, nodeagent) are you trying to run with a non-root user ID?

For releases of V7.0, check that you have followed the instructions here.
For releases of V6.1, check that you have followed the instructions here.
For releases of V6.0, check that you have followed the instructions here.
For releases of V5.0 and V5.1, check that you have run the commands here, especially step 8.

3. Collect the following:
a. The collector tool: this will gather the file permissions information and configuration of the system.
  • For releases of V7.0, follow instructions here to run the collector tool. For Network Deployment installations, run the command also from the Deployment Manager profile.
  • For releases of V6.1, follow instructions here to run the collector tool. For Network Deployment installations, run the command also from the Deployment Manager profile.
  • For releases of V6.0, follow instructions here to run the collector tool. For Network Deployment installations, run the command also from the Deployment Manager profile.
  • For releases of V5.0 and V5.1, follow instructions here to run the collector tool. For Network Deployment installations, use the DeploymentManager\bin or DeploymentManager/bin installation path (depending on your operating system) to run the collector tool on the deployment manager.
b. For all releases:
  • Obtain the user names used as the RUN-AS user.
  • Obtain the list of groups associated with the RUN-AS user.
4. Follow instructions to send diagnostic information to IBM support.
