Problem(Abstract) |
On Windows(R) platforms, when you configure an adapter
with more than one IP address, configure the IP address that you want
affiliated to the hostname first in the registry. |

Resolving the
problem |
Since Load Balancer is dependent on
InetAddress.getLocalHost() in many instances (for example, lbkeys
create), multiple IP addresses aliased to a single adapter might cause
problems.
To avoid this problem, list the IP address to which you want your
hostname to resolve first in the registry. For example:
1.Start Regedit.
2. Modify the following Value names as follows:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> ControlSet001 -> Services ->
{Your Interface Identifier} -> Parameters -> Tcpip-> IPAddress
- Place the ipaddress to which you want the hostname to
resolve first.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> ControlSet001 -> Services ->
Tcpip -> Parameters -> Interfaces -> {Your Interface Identifier}
-> IPAddress
- Place the ipaddress to which you want the hostname to
resolve first.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> ControlSet002 -> Services ->
{Your Interface Identifier} -> Parameters -> Tcpip -> IPAddress
- Place the ipaddress to which you want the hostname to
resolve first.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> ControlSet002 -> Services ->
Tcpip -> Parameters -> Interfaces -> {Your Interface Identifier}
-> IPAddress
- Place the ipaddress to which you want the hostname to
resolve first.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet ->
Services-> {Your Interface Identifier} -> Parameters -> Tcpip-
> IPAddress
- Place the ipaddress to which you want the hostname to
resolve first.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet ->
Services-> Tcpip -> Parameters -> Interfaces -> {Your
Interface Identifier} -> IPAddress
- Place the ipaddress to which you want the hostname to
resolve first.
3. Reboot
4. Check that your hostname resolves to the correct IP address. For
example, ping yourhostname.
5. Use the lbkeys script to create keys. |
