Problem summary
****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server users of JCA *
* Resource Adapters that do not support an *
* authentication mechanism. *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If a JCA Resource Adapter that *
* doesn't support an authentication *
* mechanism is installed and a J2C *
* Connection Factory is created, a *
* J2CA0104 error message will be *
* logged, and an Exception will be *
* thrown. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
The J2C Connection Manager does some validity checking when it
binds a Connection Factory into JNDI. Part of that checking
is to make sure that the authentication mechanism specified on
the Resource Adapter is valid. Resource Adapters that don't
specify an authentication mechanism recieve the default value
of Basic Password, which results in the J2CA0104 error and
exception.
Problem conclusion
Disabled the validity checking for BasicPassword. A complete
fix will require a WCCM change to account for a auth-mech-type
of NONE, which can't be done until the next full release due
to migration concerns.
