Problem(Abstract) |
When using the administrative console to add a user to the
Console Users, WebSphere® Application Server issues a NullPointerException
in the SystemOut.log file. |

Cause |
The problem is caused by a corrupted system management
file, preferences.xml.
The following is an example of the NullPointerException located
in the SystemOut.log file:

Resolving the
problem |
Remove all occurences of the preferences.xml file
under the WebSphere directories, then restart WebSphere Application
Server. A new file is created at server restart. |
