Problem(Abstract)
This is a troubleshooting guide for classloader issues for versions 5.0 and 6.0 IBM® WebSphere® Application Server product. This should help address common issues with this component.

Steps to help resolve Classloader problems
  1. Are you utilizing JCL support outside of what WebSphere® Application Server already provides within its Java™ 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE™) applications? This could include utilizing Log4J or Java 2 SDK V1.4 logging support.
  2. Are you seeing UnsatisfiedLinkError or Library not found errors?
  3. Are you seeing ClassCastException?
  4. Are you seeing ClassNotFoundException or NoClassDefFoundError? Ensure that the class that is not found is located within the class path.
  5. Are you seeing the ClassFormatError error?
