Application Server fails to install when using X-Windows as an interface to the target system

Problem
IBM® WebSphere® Application Server fails to install with the following error messages in the installation log:

Setup.product.install, com.installshield.wizardx.actions.AsciiFileUpdateWizardAction, err, WizardException: (error code = 200; message="/usr/WebSphere/AppServer/java/jre/lib/orb.properties (A file or directory in the path name does not exist.)"; exception = [ServiceException: (error code = 200; message = "/usr/WebSphere/AppServer/java/jre/lib/orb.properties (A file or directory in the path name does not exist.)"; severity = 0; exception = [java.io.FileNotFoundException: /usr/WebSphere/AppServer/java/jre/lib/orb.properties (A file or directory in the path name does not exist.)])])

Cause
Some implementations of X-Windows prevents the Application Server installer from executing successfully.
 
Solution
To complete the installation process successfully, either log in directly or over telnet, from the command line, to perform a silent install.
