Session Manager userid settings for database persistence
 Technote (troubleshooting)

b) What function does each ID have?

Resolving the problem

Answers:
a) The Session Manager configuration is required. The datasource configuration is used only by the Test Connection function button in the Admin Console.

b) Functions for each ID:
1. Container-managed Authentication - used by the datasource Test Connection
2. Component-managed Authentication - used by the datasource Test Connection
3. Session Manager Database Persistence - used on getConnection() by the session manager.
