APAR status Closed as program error. Error description When WAS 5.0.2.1 is uninstalled, the cloudscape50 and cloudscape51 directories are deleted. In some cases, this will prevent 5.0.2.1 from being able to reinstall as the WAS install is now in a "corrupt" state.Local fix Customers should rename the cloudscape directories before uninstalling 5.0.2.1.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users installing and uninstalling WebSphere * * Application Server 5.0.2 Cumulative Fixpack * * 2 (WAS 5.0.2.2). * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When uninstalling WAS 5.0.2.2, the * * cloudscape directories and contents * * are deleted. When re-installing * * WAS 5.0.2.2 the install fails. * * The result is deleted cloudscape * * directories and a failed re-install. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The uninstall is uninstalling the cloudscape directories when it should not be. The workaround documented in the WebSphere Application Server 5.0.2 Cumulative Fixpack 2 Readme is to rename the cloudscape directories before uninstalling the cumulative fixpack and then rename them back after the uninstall completes. Additionally, if the cloudscape directories have been deleted during an uninstall, you need to uninstall WebSphere Application Server 5.0 fixpack 2 (WAS 5.0.2) and re-install to recover the cloudscape directories.Problem conclusion The deleting of the cloudscape directories at uninstall time has been fixed in WebSphere Application Server 5.0.2 Cumulative Fixpack 3 available at : http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&context= SSEQTP&q1=5.0.2.3&uid=swg24006289&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang= en+en Additionally, the workarounds mentioned above can be used to avoid the problem and recover from it.Temporary fix Comments
