- The WebSphere Application Server version tracking files
are NOT updated using this manual installation process.
- IBM recommends installing the full WebSphere® Application
Server V5.0 fix packs or cumulative fixes listed in the Recommended
Updates when the WebSphere Application Server is installed on the same
system as the Web server.
The following are steps for manually installing Cumulative Fix 12 for
remote Web server plug-in:
- Stop all Web services.
- Download the plug-in .zip file for applicable platform.
- Unzip the plug-in .zip file.
- Backup the plug-in modules currently being used.
- Copy the new plug-in module to the Web server machine where the old
plug-in module was originally installed.
On AIX®, run the slibclean command after stopping the Web server to
clean up any shared libraries in use.
- Restart all Web services.
- Verify that the plug-in build date has changed within the plug-in log
file.
To verify the plug-in build date:
Look at the Bld version and at the Bld date recorded in
the http_plugin.log file at the Web server start-up. The build
information record on a Win32 system looks similar to the following
example:
--------------------System
Information--------------
PLUGIN: Bld version: 5.0.0
PLUGIN: Bld date: Jun 29 2005, 12:56:14
PLUGIN: Webserver: IBM_HTTP_SERVER/1.3.26.2 Apache/1.3.26 (Win32)
