Problem summary
****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server Version *
* 5.0.2 and 5.1.1 users who try to delete *
* nodes using the "cleanupNode" command. *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The "cleanupNode" command cannot remove *
* application servers from the clusters. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
The cleanupNode command cannot remove the application servers
from the clusters.
Steps to recreate :
1) Install Application Server and DMGR
2) Federate node to the Cell using addNode command
3) Create a new cluster and add cluster members
4) Run "cleanupNode" command from "dmgr"
The "cleanupNode" command removes the specified node from the
cell. However the Application Servers created in the node are
not getting deleted from the cluster's configuration.
To remove the Application Servers of that node from the
cluster, you need to manually delete the entry from the
"cluster.xml"
You get an error if trying to remove the node that no longer
exists through the Administrative console.
Problem conclusion
The required code changes have been made and the added code
removes the application servers avaialbe in the clusters to
that particular node when the cleanupNode command is used.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpack 5.0.2.14 and 5.1.1.8.
