Problem(Abstract)
When installing Fix Pack 2 for WebSphere 5.0.1 on Linux, a SIGSEGV may occur. This happens if user and group ownership on the existing java directory are not set to root.
 
Resolving the problem
Change ownership of the existing java directory by issuing "chown -R root.root java" from the WebSphere install directory. Then re-install the fix pack.
