APAR status Closed as program error. Error description When running Websphere Enterprise Edition (PME) V5.0.2.6 on Websphere Application Server 5.0.2.9 or higher the dmgr issues the following messages in the systemout.log - ADME0006W: An exception occurred sending notification javax.management.Notification■source=WebSphere:platform=common, cell=C1,version=5.0,name=Discovery,mbeanIdentifier=Discovery, type=Discovery,node=N1,process=nodeagent to ListenerInfo: ■listener=com.ibm.ws.opcenter.datarep.runtime.OCComponentImpl$ OcNotificationListener@5b93b393;ntfyInfo=NotificationInfo: ■name=WebSphere:type=Discovery,*;filter=null;handback=null: java.lang.ClassCastException: com.ibm.ws.management.discovery. ServerInfo at com.ibm.ws.opcenter.datarep.runtime.OCComponentImpl$ OcNotificationListener.handleNotification (OCComponentImpl.java:1420) at com.ibm.ws.management.event.ListenerInfo.handleNotification (ListenerInfo.java:67) at com.ibm.ws.management.event.NotificationDispatcher $DispatchANotificationToAListener.run (NotificationDispatcher.java:334) at com.ibm.ws.util.ThreadPool$Worker.run(ThreadPool.java:672) - The failure is in OpCenter which is shipped in Enterprise Edition. - This problem was already discovered and fixed in Enterprise Edition 5.1 (WBISF) but has now been found on 5.0.Local fix The messages can be ignored.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Websphere Enterprise Edition (PME) 5.0.2.x * * users of OpCenter * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The Websphere Enterprise Edition * * (PME) OpCenter application was found * * to have 2 problems. * * First,the PMI settings specified for * * an application server are being ignored * * when WBISF is also installed. The message is * * ADME0006W: An exception occurred * * sending notification * * javax.management.Notification * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Here are the details of the 2 problems fixed in the OpCenter code When running Websphere Enterprise Edition (PME) V5.0.2.6 on Websphere Application Server 5.0.2.9 or higher the dmgr issues the following messages in the systemout.log ADME0006W: An exception occurred sending notification javax.management.Notification The PMI settings specified for an application server are ignored when WBISF is also installed. For example, if jvmRuntimeModule=X is set via the administrative console, when the application server starts, the value will change to jvmRuntimeModule=H.Problem conclusion Fixed the OpCenter code to handle the situation and not send error message in to the Systemout.log. Opcenter will also handle the PMI settings that are currently set.Temporary fix Comments
