APAR status Closed as fixed if next. Error description Problem:Cust would like to automate his install using update silent command for WAS 5.0. He would like to see exit code of "0" if successful and something else if it fails. He would not like to look into log.txt and search for INSTFIN and see if it completed or not.Local fix WorkAround:Check log.txt for "INSTFIN" for success.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server 5.0 users * * installing the full product with either the * * GUI or silent install. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After the installation of WebSphere * * Application Server 5.0, there is no * * return code set. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Users installing WebSphere Application Serve 5.0 silently or through the GUI will not be able to check the return code to determine a successful or failed install. The installer does not set the return code to indicate success or failure. This will be fixed in the next full release which is planned to be WebSphere 5.1 .Problem conclusion Temporary fix Comments
