![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Ear file has softlinked files located within when updating ear file, softlinks get deleted from ear. In WAS4.0 delete does not follow symbolic links by default, it is reasonable to expect the same behavior in 5.0.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All WebSphere Application Server users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WebSphere delete follows symbolic links * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** WebSphere should not follow soft links when deleting files. This is reported to be an issue if for example customer EAR contains softlinks to files. During application update, existing files are deleted so are the soft linked files. This behavior is dangerous if the symbolic linked to the file system root directory.Problem conclusion This Fix implements additional checking to ensure during recursive file delete, the directory/file is not deleted if it is a symbolic link.Temporary fix Comments
