Error description
Fixes in this APAR include the following:
1) Handle NullPointerExceptions in the Data Replication
component that happen at the time of recovery from a failed
replicator.
2) Limit the error logs that are generated in the case of
successful recovery from a failed replicator.
3) Handle some timing related issues that could cause
duplicate recovery attempts when a replicator goes down.

* USERS AFFECTED: All users of Websphere Application server *

* replication and the Websphere Dynamic *
* cache. *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This fix addresses several issues and *
* problems related to the Data *
* replication component that manifest *
* themselves when a replicator that is *
* being used by the HTTP Session *
* manager or the Dynamic cache goes *
* down. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
When a replicator connected to the Data Replication Component
goes down, the default behaviour of the component is to
connect to an alternate replicator if available and keep cache
replication active. This behavior happens in a manner that is
transparent to the end user. The current behavior has some
problems wherein certain error messages were being reported
even if the Data Replication Component was able to recover
successfully from a replicator failure. This behavior is being
corrected by this fix.
Secondly, certain timing conditions could have caused multiple
simultaneous recovery attempts to be initiated. This fix deals
with such conditions and ensures that recovery is attempted
only once for every problem condition caused by a broken
replicator.
Problem conclusion
This fix will be available for the 5.0.2 release as part of
the Websphere Application Server 5.0.2 Cumulative fix 3
(5.0.2.3)
