Problem(Abstract) |
Even though the Performance Monitoring Service (PMI
Service) has been disabled on the server, the service starts on its own
after a given time every time.
Selecting the check box for the "Startup" property in the Performance
Monitoring Service panel (in WebSphere Application Server V5) or checking
the "Enable Performance Monitoring Infrastructure" (in WebSphere
Application Server V6), saving/synchronizing the changes made and
restarting the server does not make a difference. |
|
|
|
Cause |
A third party software like Tivoli Performance Viewer or
Wily IntroScope may be monitoring performance on the server and causing
the PMI Service to startup as it accesses the underlying interfaces it
uses. |
|
|
Resolving the
problem |
Check for and disable any third party software that is
monitoring performance on the server.
Check for any custom scripts that may be starting the third party
performance monitoring software.
