![]() APAR status Closed as fixed if next. Error description Application of Microsoft Security Patch MS05-019 causes IHS virtual hosts to fail. The error message shown is as follows: [Mon May 02 13:03:52 2005] [notice] Parent: Created child process 6352 [Mon May 02 13:03:56 2005] [notice] Child 6352: Child process is running [Mon May 02 13:03:56 2005] [notice] Child 6352: Acquired the start mutex. [Mon May 02 13:03:56 2005] [notice] Child 6352: Starting 1000 worker threads. [Mon May 02 13:03:57 2005] [warn] Server ran out of threads to serve requests. Consider raising the ThreadsPerChild setting The setting was originally 250 and was raised to 1000 and the error persists. Customer has AFPA enabled.Local fix There are two possible work arounds: Removal of the Microsoft Security Patch restores functionality or with the Microsoft Security Patch applied, disable AFPA.Problem summary When Afpa is enabled on Windows, IBM HTTP Server virtual hosts no longer work after installing Microsoft security patch MS05-019 (KB893066).Problem conclusion Temporary fix Disable AfpaComments Applies to compid 5648B7802 levels 326 & 328 (IHS 1.3.26 & 1.3.28). This fix may also be applied to IBM HTTP Server versions 6.0.x, 2.0.47.1 and 2.0.42.2 if the currently applied cumulative eFix does not include PK07747. Note: IHS 2.0.42/2.0.47 APAR PK07831 already includes this fix.
