Problem(Abstract) |
"Cannot find a PMI module name for the mbean:
j2cModule/ISRA/" is logged when IBM® WebSphere® Application Server is
configured to be used with WebSphere Studio Application Monitor. |

Resolving the
problem |
The PMI0002W messages occur when the Performance
Monitoring Infrastructure (PMI) attempts to probe the information stored
in a WebSphere Application Server data source (or any other resource, but
in the context of WebSphere Studio Application Monitor it is only the data
sources). Since the PMI-pollable resource has not yet been used, the PMI
registry is not "aware" of the data source as a pollable PMI object. Once
the request to use the data source is issued, the data source object is
initialized and as part of that initialization it registers with the
WebSphere Application Server PMI registry. That is why the messages stop
once the data source is used.
The message appears every time PMI is polled by WebSphere Studio
Application Monitor. The frequency of the polling (or the polling
interval) value is stored in the PMI_POLLING_FREQ variable in the
publish server properties of the managing server
(/etc/ps1.properties, /etc/ps2.properties in the
WebSphere Studio Application Monitor install directory). By default, it is
set to poll every 60 seconds.
This is a known bug in WebSphere Studio Application Monitor and is fixed
in WebSphere Studio Application Monitor 2.1.4 for z/OS® and distributed.
It is also observed on WebSphere Studio Application Monitor 3.0 (all
releases). |
