PROBLEM SUMMARY:
USERS AFFECTED:
WebSphere Application Server 5.0.2 and 5.1 Runtime Performance Advisor
users.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Performance Advisors are available and preform correctly. The Application
Server is then started successfully. However, when an application is
stopped and started immediately, an exception is thrown every 10 seconds.
RECOMMENDATION:
When an Application is restarted immediately after stopping it, the
Runtime Performance Advisor(RPA) does not detect the Application restart.
Subsequently RPA throws an exception every 10 secs, when getting the PMI
statistics for the Application.
PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The Runtime Performance Advisor code has been modified to detect the
restart of Applications.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack
5.02.12 and 5.1.1.5.
