* the Java Virtual Machine details page *
* in the administrative console is not *
* put to any use. *
* *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
When you navigate to:
Application Servers > server1 > Process Definition > Java
Virtual Machine on the administrative console panel, there is
a text field which allows you to enter Operating system name.
But setting this value does not seem to have any effect, and
the field is not validated.
The field "Operating system name" in the Java Virtual Machine
details page is put into any use. This field is redundant and
the value is not used anywhere.
Problem conclusion
Code changes have been made to remove this field. The APAR is
targetted to be included in cumulative fixes 5.0.2.17 and
5.1.1.10 and fixpack 6.0.2.9
