PK07880 resolves the following problem:

ERROR DESCRIPTION:
A CPU spike has been seen at the same time that the Dynamic Cache disk cleanup is running.

PROBLEM SUMMARY:

USERS AFFECTED:
WebSphere Application Server users using the Dynamic Cache disk offload feature.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A CPU spike is seen when running Dynamic Cache disk cleanup.

RECOMMENDATION:
This will improve the performance of cache requests by removing unnecessary cache synchronization during Dynamic Cache disk cleanup

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
This fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack V5.0.2.8 to V5.0.2.13.

For WebSphere Application Server Versions 5.0.2.9 to 5.0.2.11, the prerequisite APAR is PK03168.

There are no prerequisite APARs for WebSphere Application Server Versions 5.0.2.12, 5.1.1.5, and 5.1.1.6.
