Environment:
WebSphere Application Server 5
Description:
   After enabling WebSphere Application Server security using a
custom registry and
then using a full disguished name (DN) as the security server
ID, trying to log into the administrative application/console
hangs. This succeeds if a security server ID, which isn't the
full DN, is used.
Local fix Problem summary

Inconsistent application of conversion and validation routines.
Problem conclusion
Re-worked several classes to use UserName and/or UserId
appropriately to allow for correct conversion of character
input.
