Is there a supported method that can return a transaction identifier to an application?

Problem
You are trying to write a logging service that will keep track of all method calls associated with a transaction. You notice that when an enterprise bean is executed, it has a transaction ID associated with the transaction. You would like to be able to identify all methods belonging to a particular transaction. You are wondering if this is possible in WebSphere® Application Server V5.0 releases?
 
Cause
You would like to know the methods so you can write a logging service to track the transaction through WebSphere Application Server.
 
Solution
At this time, there is no supported method of returning a transaction identifier to
an application.
