WebSphere Application Server and NodeAgent status may not be correct in the windows service panel
 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)
IBM® WebSphere® Application Server and NodeAgent status may not be correct in the Windows® service panel. A server started from the DeploymentManager administrative console or from the command prompt may not show the correct status in the Windows service panel.

Resolving the problem
The Windows service panel shows the correct status as STOPPED or STARTED, if we start the server using the Windows service panel. However, if we start the server from the DeploymentManager administrative console or from the command prompt, the server status may not be correct.

WebSphere Application Server is not responsible to pass the JVM status to the Windows service to display the correct status. It is working as designed. To find the correct status of the Application Server or nodeagent, use the DeploymentManager administrative console.
