Session management information is not used after mapping an application to another Application Server
 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)
An installed application can be mapped to different Application Server or to additional Application Servers in the IBM® WebSphere® Application Server V5 administrative console.

Cause
The current session manager settings are not designed to be carried over when an application is mapped to another Application Server.

Resolving the problem
To map to a different Application Server or to additional Application Servers in the WebSphere® Application Server V5 administrative console:
  1. Select the application
  2. Under Additional Properties, select Map modules to application servers.

If Overwrite is checked in the Session Management configuration, this parameter is not used properly. If the adminconsole application is mapped to a new Application Server and the new server has modified session settings, this can cause session failures.

Apply these settings:

  1. Navigate to Enterprise Applications > AppName > SessionManagement.
  2. Click Apply, then Save.
  3. Synchronize the configuration.
