How to reinstall the administrative console or
filetransfer application using the wsadmin command line tool on
IBM® WebSphere® Application Server V5.0 releases. |

Cause |
The examples below show how to reinstall the
administrative console application or the filetransfer application, in the
event the original application becomes corrupt or is deleted by
mistake. |

Resolving the
problem |
- The administrative console application provides the Web-based
administrative control.
- The filetransfer application provides Network Deployment and Base
Edition synchronization operations.
Important:
Save your current configuration by executing the following command from
the
Install_Root/bin directory:
Windows® platforms: backupConfig.bat
UNIX® platforms: backupConfig.sh
Uninstalling and reinstalling the administrative console on the Base
node server1 application server:
- Start the wsadmin tool from the
Install_Root/bin directory:
wsadmin.sh/bat -conntype NONE
- List all the applications:
$AdminApp list
- Uninstall the administrative console:
The list option shown in Step 2 displays all the applications
installed. If you have more than one instance of administrative console
installed, you might need to uninstall all instances of the administrative
console application.
$AdminApp uninstall adminconsole
- Save the changes:
$AdminConfig save
- List all the applications:
$AdminApp list
You should not see the administrative console application listed.
- Install the administrative console:
$AdminApp install
Install_Root/installableApps/adminconsole.ear
{-node my_Base_Node -cell
my_Cell -server server1 -appname adminconsole}
- Save the changes:
$AdminConfig save
- List all the applications:
$AdminApp list
You should now see the administrative console application listed.

Network Deployment node Deployment Manager (dmgr) application server:
- Start the wsadmin tool from the
Install_Root/bin directory:
wsadmin.sh/bat -conntype NONE
- List all the applications:
$AdminApp list
- Uninstall the administrative console:
The list option shown in Step 2 displays all the applications
installed. If you have more than one instance of administrative console
installed, you might need to uninstall all instances of the adminconsole
application.
$AdminApp uninstall adminconsole
- Save the changes:
$AdminConfig save
- List all the applications:
$AdminApp list
You should not see the administrative console application
listed
- Install the administrative console:
$AdminApp install

You should not see the filetransfer application listed.
- Install the file transfer application:
$AdminApp install
Install_Root/installableApps/filetransfer.ear
{-node my_ND_Node -cell
my_Cell -server dmgr -appname filetransfer}
- Save the changes:
$AdminConfig save
- List all the applications:
$AdminApp list
You should now see the file transfer application listed.
Note: For Windows®, the slashes can be either \\ or /. |
