Description
IBM WebSphere Application Server - Express will support deployment on AIX,
Solaris and HP-UX in a future release. While the code currently does not
offer all of the ease of use characteristics essential to WebSphere
Application Server - Express (for instance, a seamless, integrated
install), we are making the code available to select IBM Business Partners
and customers now in order to help you move forward in working with
WebSphere Application Server - Express. It is available to you to
evaluate, develop solutions, host solutions in-house and even embed into
applications (with the appropriate contract) today. Migration from this
code to future releases is supported to ensure a smooth transition to the
complete, customer-ready version.
As with the platforms that are supported today, WebSphere Application
Server - Express with support for deployment on UNIX will be a tightly
integrated package that includes a simplified application server and
WebSphere Studio development tools. (Note that the development tools will
continue to support the Windows and Linux platforms).
