Problem(Abstract) |
WebSphere Application Server V5.0.2 and higher can be
installed on the Linux operating system on the pSeries platform. You can
check which Linux distributions for pSeries are supported for a particular
WebSphere Application Server level here:
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/webservers/appserv/doc/latest/prereq.html
There is currently no WebSphere MQ client for Linux on pSeries, so how can
you connect to a remote WebSphere MQ server from your WebSphere
Application Server on Linux for pSeries? |

Resolving the
problem |
To connect to a remote WebSphere MQ server from WebSphere
Application Server on Linux for pSeries, you must install the Embedded
Messaging client when you install WebSphere Application Server. It can be
used to connect to the remote MQ server.
After the installation, check the MQ_INSTALL_ROOT and MQJMS_LIB_ROOT
WebSphere environment variables:
- Open the administrative console.
- Expand Environment.
- Select Manage WebSphere Variables
- MQ_INSTALL_ROOT should be set to /opt/mqm
- MQJMS_LIB_ROOT should be set to
${MQ_INSTALL_ROOT}/java/lib
Once these variables are set correctly, you can define your JMS connection
factories and destinations to connect to WebSphere MQ under the WebSphere
MQ JMS Provider. |
