APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Install of fixpack 1 for WSAS 5.1 on Windows 2003 fails to updat e the gskit to 7.0.1.16 because Win 2003 is not recognized as a valid OS. In the was51_fp1_win_prereq.gskit.ptf_install.log it shows that no errors are reported. It does show the following Validating platform for (Windows NT, Windows 2000) platform check is negative. Product File Update is not active; skipping update step. From Program Files\IBM\gsk\bin\gskit7ver still yeilds 7.0.1.10 instead of 7.0.1.16.Local fix The update installer places the unzipped update.jar for the gskit in WAS_HOME\gskit5install. Open a command prompt. Change directory to WAS_HOME\gskit5install. Run the following command from the command prompt, setup.exe WAS_HOME\gskit5install. The Path is specified so that the gskit installer can find the file, setup.iss. This will launch the gskit installer. Keep hitting next until it completes. Verify the successful install, go to the directory of your IHS server is stored and run : C:\Program Files\IBM\gsk\bin\gskit7ver, should yield 7.0.1.16.Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users who installed Websphere Application * * Server on Windows 2003. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The service pack fails to upgrade the * * GSKit component only in Windows 2003. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** This fix removes the operating system discriminative update anomalyProblem conclusion The service pack upgrades the GSKit component in all platforms The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 5.1.1.3.
