![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Japanese Windows Service does not properly start and stop the servers.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server Windows users * * on Japanese machines * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When starting the Application Server * * service the service status goes to * * "stopped" while the Server is still * * running. Other errors seen are Error * * 1053:"The service did not respond to * * the start or control request in a * * timely fashion" and Error 100:"Unable * * to create another system semaphore". * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** This is a problem with the windows service not retrieving the correct process id of the WAS java process.Problem conclusion To fix this we changed the method used to get the process id of the Application Server. NOTE: If the server takes over a minute to complete its start sequence, the service will go to the "started" state with the stop functionality disabled to avoid the 1053 error. After the server's start sequence is successfully completed the service will enable the stop functionality upon a refresh of the services dialog.Temporary fix Comments
