"The application failed to initialize" error occurs when accessing UDDI console
 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)
If you receive a "The application failed to initialize" error message when you try to access the UDDI user console and when DB2® is configured as the persistence store for the UDDI Registry, it is possible that the wrong user ID and/or password is used in the script that installed UDDI Registry application.

Cause
Incorrect user ID or password used in the installation script.

Resolving the problem
If this occurs, rerun the script using the correct user ID and password:
  • The UDDI DB2 Setup Wizard (setupDB2UDDI.jar), prompts for the DB2 user ID and password. This is used by the UDDI Registry database during creation and each access.
  • The same password provided in setupDB2UDDI.jar to create the UDDI Registry must be used to run setupuddi.jacl to install the UDDI registry.
  • Before starting this task, verify the DB2 user ID and password. This same user ID and password must be used each time the DB2 user ID and password is requested.

To fix the problem, rerun setupuddi.jacl using the same password you provided to the UDDI DB2 Setup Wizard (setupDB2UDDI.jar). If that doesn't work, go back and rerun setupDB2UDDI.jar , then run setupuddi.jacl again.
