![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Application update function does not retain post install settings such as classloader settings, starting weight, and shared library. They are removed when a client choose to update a deployed application and need to be configured again. This APAR is to allow such metadata information be retained after update.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server V5.x users who * * update deployed applications. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The application update function does * * not keep post install settings such as * * classloader settings, starting weight * * and shared library. This requires a * * user to re-configure them after * * application update. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** These post install settings are stored in deployment.xml file. The application update function needs to retain the old deployment.xml file, extract these settings, and save them to the new deployment.xml file created during the application update. Settings at the application level will now be retained. Settings at the module level will be retained if the module they are defined for is retained after the update.Problem conclusion Improved the application update code so it will now retain post instal settings after the deployed application is updated.Temporary fix Comments
