 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)
Window Registry can provide us with information of Caching Proxy component installed

Resolving the problem
Version and efix level of Caching Proxy installed is always important information for L2 support to debug Caching Proxy problems. Unlike UNIX platform, there is not a tool or command available to tell the version number of Caching Proxy installed on Windows. However, Window Registry may provide such information.

1. Open Registry (Start -> Run -> regedit)

2. Click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/IBM/WSES-Caching Proxy/CurrentVersion

MajorVersion, MinorVersion, PatchLevel, as well as other information are shown on the right side of window. For example,

MajorVersion 0x00000004(4)

MinorVersion 0x00000001(0)

PatchLevel 0x00000021(33)

Which means Caching Proxy version 4.0, with a patch level of 33, is installed on the system.
