The server process wsadmin is connected to (dmgr or standalone
server) does not hang.
The problem is intermittent.
Local fix Problem summary
****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server v5.x users who *
* use wsadmin to redeploy applications *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When redeploying an application in *
* wsadmin and an RMI connector is used, *
* the wsadmin session could miss events *
* from the server about redeployment *
* processing and hang. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
This is a timing issue in the notification code. Due to this
programming error, it is possible for wsadmin to miss events
from server and wait for them forever, resulting in a hung
wsadmin session.
Note that this problem is intermittent.
Problem conclusion
Improved the notification code to make sure events are
received so wsadmin does not hang when redeploying applications.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
