APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
With WebSphere with security enabled to server LDAP, it is
unable to recover from LDAP outage. After LDAP is restored,
application servers and node agents refuse to respond to
requests from command line or deployment manager. All JVMs must
be restarted to recover.

Application Servers are getting killed before the pingTimeout
interval by the NodeAgent when an User Registry failure
occurs.
Problem conclusion
Application Server(s) status is shown as status "Stopped" in
the Administrative Console when there is a short outage in user
registry failure (like an LDAP outage).
The fix delays the Nodeagent from killing the Application
Server before the PingTimeOut interval specified in the
Monitoring Policy, when such a user registry failure occurs.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpack 5.02.10 and 5.1.1.3. Please refer to the
