Error description
Problem may be seen with EJB clients loosing their connection to
the server when going through a firewall after the connection
has been idle.
Local fix Problem summary
****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: All WebSphere Application Server users who *
* have enabled security and are making EJB *
* calls through a firewall. *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The firewall may close ports that are *
* inactive. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
The firewall may close ports that are inactive. The inactivity
period is defined by the firewall. The reason for the port
closure is the SSL sockets used for the EJB clients did not
have "keep alive" enabled.
A COMM_FAILURE will be seen client side if this occurs.
Problem conclusion
SSL sockets are not enabled for keep alive.
