Recieving a was.policy warning message during application deployment
 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)
Application Security Warnings message is thrown on the administrative console during deployment on IBM® WebSphere® Application Server.

Symptom
This message is displayed when a J2EE™ 1.2 application is deployed that does not have a was.policy file in the EAR file. The was.policy is one of the Java™ 2 security policy files. For Java 1.2 applications, the deployment process tries to add the was.policy template if it does not exist in the EAR file. For more details on Java 2 security policy files, see the Information Center article.

Resolving the problem
To avoid receiving the warning message during deployment, convert the J2EE1.2 application to a J2EE1.3 application by using the earconvert tool to convert the EAR file.

If Java 2 security is not a concern, this warning message can safely be ignored.
