PK00049; 5.1.1: Fixes a defect in Data Replication
Service 'get' call
Downloadable files
Abstract
Fixes a problem in the Data Replication Service component
with 'get' operations.
Download Description
PK00049 resolves the following problem:
ERROR DESCRIPTION:
This fixes an intermittent problem with the DRS (Data Replication Service)
component with ´get´ operations. An internal object with communication
resources was not being properly synchronized. As a result, it could be
incorrectly shared by multiple threads, and messages would not be properly
received. This problem could be experienced by all IBM® WebSphere®
Application Server components which use the services of DRS.
PROBLEM SUMMARY:
USERS AFFECTED:
All users of WebSphere Application Server using HttpSession
memory-to-memory replication. All users of WebSphere Application Server
using Dynamic Cache replication.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
This fixes a bug in Data Replication Service 'get' operations. An internal
container was not being properly synchronized and could intermittently be
used by two or more threads simultaneously. This resulted in an
intermittent no-response or wrong-response error situation when a Data
Replication Service consumer issued a 'get' request.
RECOMMENDATION:
WebSphere Application Server using HTTP Session memory-to-memory
replication 'get' operations failed. WebSphere Application Server using
Dynamic Cache replication 'get' operations failed.
PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The fix for this problem was made available for the 5.0.2.8 release in
PK00049_ifix. It is expected to be made available in the next cumulative
fixes for all 5.0 releases - 5.02.10 & 5.1.1.4.
