Problem(Abstract) |
In the WebSphere® Application Server administrative
console, you can set the security cache timeout in the Security / Global
Settings / Cache timeout field. The graphical interface allows you to set
the security cache timeout as low as 30 seconds; however, a setting lower
than 600 seconds (the default) does not lower the security cache timeout;
it still functions as if it were set to 600. |

Cause |
Security cache timeout for WebSphere Application Server
V5.0.0 and V5.0.1 functions asf 600 seconds, even when the value is set
below 600. |

Resolving the
problem |
USERS AFFECTED
WebSphere Application Server security users who have enabled security and
set the minimum cache timeout of less than 10 minutes.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
Security cache timeout will not be less than 10 minutes, even if you enter
a smaller value.
RECOMMENDATION
The cache has been reworked and this is resolved in V5.0.2 and later PTFs.
If you must use a cache timeout of less that 10 minutes, you should
upgrade to the newer release. |
