What port do I use when configuring the data source for my database?
 
Cause
Each database uses a socket connection to connect from the client to the database server. The TCP/IP port number for this connection is useful information for debugging socket connection problems.
 
Resolving the problem
Here are the default TCP/IP port numbers for the databases supported by IBM® WebSphere® Application Server.
Database Port Number
DB2® UDB 50000
Oracle 1521
Microsoft® SQL Server 1433
DataDirect Sequelink Server 19996
Sybase 4100
Informix® 1526
