Problem(Abstract)
When installing IBM® WebSphere® Application Server or any fixes using the Update Installer, avoid using non-ASCII or double byte character set (DBCS) characters in the name of any installation directories.
 
Cause
This is a known limitation in the installation program, as well as in the launcher program associated with the Update Installer. This is documented in the following WebSphere Application Server Information Centers:
When using the Update Installer, an error occurs when running the launcher program.
 
Resolving the problem
Install to a directory that does not contain the special characters, or install your fix from or to a directory without the special characters.
