Assuming WSAD is installed in the default location, the
following WebSphere files need to be modified before the startServer.bat
command will work:
- In the <WSAD drive>:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere
Studio\runtimes\base_v5\bin\setupCmdLine.bat file:
- With the line starting with 'SET WAS_HOME', set the directory to the
real home directory. By default, this should be C:\Program
Files\IBM\WebSphere Studio\runtimes\base_v5
- With the line starting with 'SET JAVA_HOME', set the directory to the
real Java home directory. By default, this should be C:\Program
Files\IBM\WebSphere Studio\runtimes\base_v5\java
- In the line starting with 'SET WAS_EXT_DIRS', there is a directory
path entry pointing to the C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\lib. If WSAD
was installed in a drive other than C, you will need to change the C in
this line to the WSAD drive
- In the <WSAD drive>:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere
Studio\runtimes\base_v5\bin\wsinstance\configdefaults\cells\localhost\nodes\localhost\variables.xml,
<WSAD drive>:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere
Studio\runtimes\base_v5\config\cells\localhost\nodes\localhost\variables.xml,
and <WSAD drive>:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere
Studio\runtimes\base_v5\MasterConfig\cells\localhost\nodes\localhost\variables.xml
files:
- With the line starting with '<entries
xmi:id="VariableSubstitutionEntry_1" symbolicName="WAS_INSTALL_ROOT"', set
value equal to the real home directory. By default, this should be
C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere Studio\runtimes\base_v5
- With the line starting with '<entries
xmi:id="VariableSubstitutionEntry_9" symbolicName="JAVA_HOME"', set value
equal to the real Java home directory. By default, this should be
C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere Studio\runtimes\base_v5\java
- With the line starting with '<entries
xmi:id="VariableSubstitutionEntry_10" symbolicName="MQ_INSTALL_ROOT"', if
WSAD was installed in a drive other than C, you will need to change the C
in the value to the WSAD drive
After this, you should be able to open a command prompt window, change to
the <WSAD drive>:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere
Studio\runtimes\base_v5\bin directory and execute the startServer server1
command to start WebSphere Application Server V5.
