Error description
The cust had installed WAS 5.0 BASE and ND. Then applied PTF 1
to both BASE and ND. Cust then federated a NODE. The federation
creates, on the BASE, a ND.product file in Websphere/AppServer/
properties/version. In this case it created this file with the
version of 5.0.1 for ND. Which is correct. The cust then applies
PTF 2 to ND and then BASE. The ND.product file on the BASE still
reflects 5.0.1. This is displayed in the system_out log file.
WebSphere Platform 5.0 [BASE 5.0.2 ptf2M0325.01] [ND 5.0.1
ptf1M0314.04].The PTF should update this file reflecting the
new version that was applied. In this case 5.0.2. FIN APAR
Local fix
The work around for this would be to unfederated the node
before applying PTF 2. Then apply PTF 2 to ND then Base. Then
refederate the node. This would write a new file on the BASE to
reflect the correct version. FIN APAR, close APAR when completed

* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
Information in the Network Deployment version file for
the updated base node was not being updated correctly by
the fix pack 2 install. When user did a versionInfo check
on the system, the incorrect version would be reported for
the federated base node.
Problem conclusion
The fix pack install will now report the correct version
information in a federated environment.
