Error description
When "useMetadataFromBinaries" is enabled console is not
displaying the updated JNDI names.
Enterprise Applications > MyApplication >
Additional Properties >Provide JNDI Names for Beans
.
Irrespective of "useMetadataFromBinaries" (True/False)this view
always uses "ibm-ejb-jar-bnd.xmi" from config_root's META-INF.
.
Expected behavior:
If "useMetadataFromBinaries" is ENABLED then this console
views must read the META-INF from application_root and NOT from
config_root
Local fix Problem summary
****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server 5.x users who *
* install applications with the *
* "useMetadataFromBinaries" property enabled. *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When the "useMetadataFromBinaries" *
* property is enabled, the admin console *
* still reads the meta data info *
* (JNDI names, virtual host mapping, etc) *
* from the configuration repository, *
* instead of the ear file *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
The appmanagement code did not check for the value of the
"useMetadataFromBinaries" property to determine where to
retrieve the meta data info from.
Problem conclusion
Added logic in appmanagement component to check for the value
of the "useMetadataFromBinaries" property. If it is set,
the code will retrieve meta data info from the ear file.
Othewise, it will retrieve meta data info from the
configuration repository.
