Collecting data for problems with the IBM® WebSphere®
Application Server configuration repository component. Gathering this
MustGather information before calling IBM support will help you understand
the problem and save time analyzing the data. |

Resolving the
problem |
If you have already contacted support, continue to the
component-specific MustGather information. Otherwise, click: MustGather:
Read first for all WebSphere Application Server products.
This MustGather is for the configuration repository component. This
component creates/configures/modifies/reads/deletes configuration files in
the repository. If you experience a problem in this area, gather the
following information.
Configuration Repository MustGather Information
- Describe the problem in detail.
- Open the Application Server Administrative Console, and log in.
- If using V6.0:
- In the administrative console, expand the
Troubleshooting section and click on Logs and Trace
- Click on the link for your server or dmgr where
Administrative Console is running.
- Click on Change Log Detail Levels. Click on the
Runtime tab and Change *=info to:The
*=info:com.ibm.ws.management.repository.*=all:com.ibm.ws.management.configservice.*=all:Admin=all:Webui=all
- Click on Apply.
- If using V5.0 or V5.1
- In the tree view on the left, expand
Troubleshooting, then click Logs and Trace.
- When the Logging and Tracing panel appears, click on the
name of the server for which you want to enable trace. Select the servers
where the problem exists.
- Click on the Diagnostic Trace option in the Logging and
Tracing table.
- The Diagnostic Trace Service panel is displayed. Type the
following string in the Trace Specification field:
com.ibm.ws.management.repository.*=all=enabled:com.ibm.ws.management.configservice.*=all=enabled:Admin=all=enabled:Webui=all=enabled
- Click OK.
- Recreate the problem.
- Run the collector tool on all the installations that are involved. For
additional information, refer to the Information
Center specifics for the version of WebSphere you are running.
- Follow directions in MustGather: Readme First to open a PMR and send data
to IBM® Support.
- Follow instructions to send
diagnostic information to IBM support.
