Abstract
IBM® Java™ Cryptography Extension (JCE) fixes cannot be installed in WebSphere Express because the prereq.jce.component file is not part of the product.

Additional configuration tasks are required prior to applying the Interim Fix that addresses the issue of the JCE certificate, which expires on 18 May 2006 at 21:59:19 GMT.

Note: This Interim Fix needs to be applied to all versions of WebSphere Express 5.0.

Prior to applying PK23458 follow these workaround steps:

To properly apply the Interim Fix:

  1. Create a component file in the properties/version directory called prereq.jce.component.

  2. Place the following information in the file:
