Problem(Abstract) |
The install of the Global Security Kit (GSKit) on a
Solaris™ operating system, that already has the IBM® Edge component
installed, will not install any GSKit filesets, and does not provide any
indication of a failure. |
|
|
|
Cause |
When issued, the following Solaris command, will pass a
parameter that causes install to fail if the /opt/ibm/ directory
already exists:

|
Resolving the
problem |
The admin file located within the GSKit directory
has the variable of:
Note: This setting causes the failure if it detects a conflict.
Change this variable to the following:
Now pkgadd will not care if there is a /opt/ibm/
directory already created so the install script and manual pkgadd
will work.
Check that the GSKit is installed with the following command:
pkginfo | grep gsk
application gsk5bas Certificate and SSL Base Runtime (gsk5bas)
application gsk7bas Certificate and SSL Base Runtime
(gsk7bas) |
 |
You should see the applied files. If you do not, then the install was
incomplete. If the install did not complete for some reason, perform the
following:
- Copy out any errors that you might receive.
- Collect the pkginfo -l output from the system.
- From a command prompt, collect the output from gsk5ver
or gsk7ver.
Once you have these three things, you can submit
diagnostic MustGather data to IBM. |
