![]() APAR status Closed as program error. Error description Trying to run application called MDB.ear, which tests AutoRequestEncoding and autoResponseencoding. Application runs fine on 5.0 and 5.0.1 using DBCS characters. However, when passing DBCS characters using the application on 5.0.2, I get garbage.Local fix Problem summary **************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Websphere Application Server users who * * enable autoRequestEncoding or * * autoResponseEncoding and have Fix PQ72756 * * applied. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An error was introduced in Fix PQ72756 * * that caused the Web container to * * incorrectly parse a double-byte * * character set ( DBCS ) input string. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** After applying Fix PQ72756, if a user sets autoRequestEncoding or autoResponseEncoding to true, DBCS input in an HTML form is not converted correctly in the JVM, the output is misrepresented with '???' characters.Problem conclusion The code in the Web container that parses an input character was modified so that the parsing would occur properly when autoRequestEncoding or autoResponseEncoding is set to true.Temporary fix Comments
