Error description
URL encoding issue in DyanCache
Local fix
Test fix provided to the customer.
Problem summary
****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: Users of WebSphere Application Server *
* Dynacache Servlet Caching. *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A mis-match in when Dynacache sees a *
* response as committed and when the *
* webcontainer sees it can cause a loss *
* of set headers. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
In certian situations Dynacache can see a response as being
committed even though the webcontainer does not. In these
situations, header modification is blocked which can cause
different behavior on a cache miss than on a cache hit. This
problem can manifest itself in encoding issues if encoding
headers are discarded.
Problem conclusion
Dynacache now calls upon the webcontainer to determine whether
or not a response has been committed and then modifies the
headers when the response has not been committed.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion
in cumulative fixes 5.1.1.14, 6.0.2.19, and 6.1.0.7.
