Error description
A WAS 5.0 ejb client connected to a WAS 4.0 server group fails
to keep working if you recycle the admin server on WAS 4.0. Note
if you recycle the individual clones everything is fine. The
only way to get the WAS 5.0 client to work, you need to recycle
the client once the admin server is up and running.
Local fix Problem summary
****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server users of *
* workload management or WLM interoperating *
* between version 5.0 and 4.0. *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An exception is thrown after the *
* WebSphere 4.0 server group and *
* WebSphere 4.0 admin servers that the *
* WebSphere 5.0 client is connected to *
* are recycled. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
When a client application holds onto a WLMable reference (a
home object or a remote reference) and all of the WebSphere
4.0 application servers and admin servers are recycled, the
client is not able to use any of the references after the
application servers and admin servers are available for
service again. The WebSphere 5.0 client will receive an
'org.omg.CORBA.NO_IMPLEMENT: minor code: 49421040 completed:
No' exception.
Problem conclusion
The 5.0 interop code was missing a mechanism to get back
to the 4.0 admin server if the 4.0 environment was
restarted.
Temporary fix
Recycle the client to temporarily fix the problem.
