Administrative Console login fails and login screen is redisplayed

Problem(Abstract)
Unable to log in to the Administrative Console in IBM® WebSphere® Application Server. After entering credentials, the login fails and the login screen is displayed again.
 
Cause
This can be caused by corrupted files in the wstemp directory. Some of the directories will contain characters like "-".
 
Resolving the problem
Remove these directories and files. If no other users are logged on, then delete all the files from the wstemp directory.
