Local server account required to install WebSphere® Application Server on Windows® Platforms
 Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)
When installing IBM® WebSphere® Application Server V5.0, a local server account must be used. If trying to use a domain account, the installer returns a user ID and password that is not valid, even if the domain account has full administrative authority.

Cause
The utility used for the Application Server V5.0 installation only checks the local domain while authenticating the accounts used to run services.

Resolving the problem
Use the local server account to install. Once installed, use the domain accounts to run the services.
