6.6.22.1: Administering cloned applications with the Java administrative console

This article extends article 6.6.22 (the overview of administering cloned application servers) with information specific to the Java console.

The table answers the most basic questions. See the Related information for links to detailed instructions and resource properties.

Does the console provide full functionality for administering this resource? Yes
How is this resource represented in the console tree views? The Type tree contains a Models folder object.

The Topology tree can contain zero or more existing application server clones. Their names vary; they are supplied by the administrator.

Use the View menu on the console menu bar to toggle between tree views.

Any task wizards for manipulating this resource? No

Models and clones are a bit different from other resource types. The administrator creates clones (nearly identical copies) from an existing resource (the model), such as an application server. The administrator then manages the clones primarily through operations on the model. However, the clones are visible in the tree views of the Java console.
