InfoCenter Home > 8.6.1: ORB-related Minor CodesThis document provides explanations of the minor error codes used by the WebSphere Application Server Advanced Edition Java ORB. These minor codes are not CORBA-compliant. CORBA-compliant minor codes usually begin with an OMG-assigned identification code, which consists of the vendor ID followed and digits that identify the minor code. However, the Java ORB minor codes do not contain the vendor ID. Minor codes are associated with CORBA exceptions and provide greater detail about the errors that can occur. There is not a one-to-one mapping of exception names to minor codes. Instead, a minor code can be associated with several exception names. A minor code message can have different meaning s depending on the excepton that was thrown. Minor codes are scoped to System Exceptions in the range 0 to 4095. A minor code ID must be a unique number within the scope for each System Exception, but there is no restriction that minor codes be unique across all System Exceptions.
