6.6.13: Administering thick servlet redirectors (overview)

The administrator configures typical server properties for the "thick" servlet redirector:

  • Specifying Java command line arguments and environment variables for starting the redirector

  • Associating the redirector with an operating system user ID and security group

  • Specifying how many times to try to start or ping the redirector before giving up

  • Specifying the process priority on the operating system

  • Defining standard in, standard error, standard out streams for the redirector runtime

  • Specifying a working directory

  • Specifying tracing of the server and its child components

Its additional properties resemble those of the servlet engine:

  • Node on which the redirector runs

  • Number and type of connections between the Web server and redirector

  • Port on which the redirector listens
