6.6.8.1: Administering Web applications with the Java administrative console

This article extends article 6.6.8 (the overview of administering Web applications) with information specific to the Java console.

Does the console provide full functionality for administering this resource? Yes
How is this resource represented in the console tree views? The Type tree contains a Web Applications folder object.

The Topology tree can contain zero or more existing Web applications. Their names vary; they are supplied by the administrator.

Use the View menu on the console menu bar to toggle between tree views.

Any task wizards for manipulating this resource? On the console menu bar:

Console -> Task -> Configure a Web application

There are also subtasks:

  • Add a servlet
  • Add a JSP file or Web resource
  • Add a JSP enabler
