6.6.36: Administering Java virtual machines (JVMs)

A JVM underlies each application server. You can use the application server command line settings (available in the administrative console) to set command line arguments for the JVM process.

WebSphere Application Server provides a tool -- the JDK conversion assistant -- for switching the JVM vendor implementation that the server is using.
