Determining the correct jar or zip file to use with your Oracle® Java™ database connectivity (JDBC) version 9i

Technote (FAQ)
Problem
What jar or zip file should I use with Oracle JDBC version 9i release 2? Is there a naming convention that will help me choose the right one?
Solution
Each release of Oracle supports a particular Java 2 SunŽ Developer Kit (J2SDK). The table below can help you select the correct Oracle JDBC class file to use with Oracle Version 9i Release 9.2 based on which J2SDK you are using.

J2SDK
JDBC Class File
V1.4
ojdbc14.jar
V1.2.x or V1.3.x
classes12.zip
JDK 1.1.x
classes111.zip

Begining with Oracle 9i release 2 (i.e. 9.2.x) , the jar and zip files for J2SDK V1.4 and beyond are named ojdbcjdk_version.jar. For example, the classes file for J2SDK V1.4 is named ojdbc14.jar.
