| Problem |
The WebSphere Application Server prerequisites page uses a month and year date to reference patches for Solaris The Internet Operating Environment™ needed prior to installing WebSphere Application Server products. However, when you go to the Solaris Web site, the month and date naming convention is not used. | | | | Solution | Sun provides patches to paying support customers with dates on the readme files; however, most Sun customers use the free download site, which uses a naming convention for patches similar to the following:
Sun does not keep older patches on their Web site. Nor do they permit third-party entities to store older patches. Only the latest patches for each operating system are available at any given time.
Therefore, unless you have downloaded or received the specific patch cluster from Sun that is referenced on the prerequisite page, you must use the latest patch cluster available on the Sun Web site. | |
