It appears the ptf application is looking for files, such as
admin.config, that are not included in a remote admin console
install. Copying an admin.config file from an application
server install does appear to get around this problem. You
still see errors regarding jar files not found, but it does
appear to complete the ptf update. The admin console will
come up successfully and the 'help -> about' information now
correctly reflects ptf2. Problem summary
install, application of Websphere ptf2 will fail with
the error d:\websphere\appserver\bin\admin.config (The
system cannot find the file specified). Problem conclusionTemporary fix
in {WAS_ROOT}\bin. The install will check for it's
existance and then proceed with the install. Future
ptf versions are targeted to fix this in the install. Comments
