| Error description
Customer experienced problems answering installation
questions when installing WAS 3.5.0 and trying to use
Sybase as the repository. Could not find sufficient
documentation in the InfoCenter to complete the task
correctly.
.
Tried resolving the problem by installing with local and
remote repositories, but could not find a working configuration
without calling support.
.
IBM Support was unable to find examples or directions for
providing valid information in the installation dialogs.
After the install was completed, with non-working values,
was unable to find definitions for values in admin.config
that were specific to Sybase.
.
Once it was determined that the root cause was an incorrect
jConnect configuration, a review of InfoCenter documentation
provided no guidance for Sybase JDBC configuration. Local fix
Use Sybase jConnect documentation and tools to verify Sybase
is working correctly, then guess at necessary values for
Installation or admin.config. Problem summary

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: How to configure WebSphere Application *
* Server to use Sybase as a repository. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
To configure WebSphere Application Server to use Sybase as a
repository, add your JDBC JAR file to the administrative
server Java virtual machine arguments and set up the
administrative repository attributes in the admin.config file.
For example:
com.ibm.ejs.sm.util.process.Nanny.adminServerJvmArgs=-Xmx128m
-Xminf0.15 -Xmaxf0.25 -Djavax.rmi.CORBA.UtilClass=com.ibm.
CORBA.iiop.Util -Dcom.ibm.CORBA.iiop.noLocalCopies=true
-Dws.ext.dirs=E:/WebSphere/AppServer/java/lib;E:/WebSphere/
AppServer/classes;E:/WebSphere/AppServer/lib/ext;E:/WebSphere/
AppServer/lib;d:/sybase/jConnect-5_2/classes
