Problem
How to uninstall WebSphere on Linux
Solution
WebSphere for Linux distributions (Redhat, Caldera, Turbolinux, Suse) don't create an uninstall script. If you need to uninstall IBM products (WebSphere, IHS), you need to use a package remover just like you would manually do on other Unix systems.

The package manager tool is called rpm.

Basic rpm syntax:

rpm --help (to show you the general flags/arguments you can use).

rpm -qa (to query ALL the packages that have been installed on the machine).

rpm -e package_name (to uninstall the package).

In the WebSphere case, try the following:

1) rpm -qa | grep -i ibm (this will show you all the packages that have IBM in the name).

2) rpm -e IBMWebAS-STD-doc-en-3.5-1 (this will remove this doc package, for example, which was displayed by the query command). Repeat this step until all the packages are all removed.
