PQ48883: ALLOW URI TO SERVER JSP,HTML AND OTHER WEB RESOURCES AS FOLLOWS:/PATH/SECURED/*CURRENTLY SERVLET ENGINE DOESN'T ALLOW THIS

APAR

APAR status
Closed as program error.

Error description
Servlet engine exception when specify uri as follows.
/something/secured/*
This should be done for both jsp, html and other web resources.
Local fix
Problem summary
After applying FP2, customer is unable to specify
pattern matching uri's in the Servlet Engine Web Path.
For example, /webapp/examples/secured*.jsp.
Problem conclusion
WebSphere had a behavioral change in FixPack 2 to more closely
adhere to the Servlet 2.2 API. According to the specification,
a pattern match uri of /webapp/examples/secured*.jsp is no
longer valid.
Customer needed to change uri's to a pattern match similar to
/webapp/examples/secured/*. While the engine handled this
correctly, the jsp engine did not. Code changes were made
to allow this functionality to work for jsps.
Temporary fix
test efix sent to customer 05-24-01 for evaluation.
pq4883.jar
-- Update.. Customer evaluated and verified that this
efix resolved their problem.
Comments
ptf's 3 & 4. This efix will allow the securing of
jsp's and other resources.
