| Error description
WAS with many virtual hosts has very slow response
and very high CPU usage when adding an extra servlet via
right click on a webapp with Admin console.
It takes too long to get to the next screen. Local fixProblem summary
****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server users with a *
* large number of web applications who create *
* enterprise applications. *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using the Create/Edit Enterprise *
* Application wizards, if you try to *
* expand the web applications list, it *
* will take a long time (or hang) if *
* there are a large number of web *
* applications in the list. For *
* example, when there were 40 web *
* applications, it took over 8 minutes *
* to populate the list. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
When displaying the list of web applications there was code
which checked to see if each web application was already
installed in an enterprise application. It used this
information to decide if the web app should be populated in
the list or not so that a web app would not show up in a list
if it was already installed somewhere else. This checking
took too long. Problem conclusion
The checking to see if a web application is already installed
was moved from when the list is populated to when the user
presses the Add button. The user will be told/stopped if the
web app is already installed on another enterprise
application. This will result in the user seeing web apps
in the list that they did not use to see. Temporary fixComments
