Inter-op problem between IBM and Sun JDK causes UID mismatch

USERS AFFECTED:
All WebSphere Application Server users of WebSphere Commerce Suite Config Manager GUI and users of a remote client where in the client and server uses a mix of Sun and IBM-based JDKs.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Inter-op problem between IBM and Sun JDK causes UID mismatch exception.
This problem only surfaces when using a remote client and the client and server uses a mix of Sun and IBM-based JDKs (for example, a Windows client and a iSeries server).

For instance the exception seen may be:
java.rmi.UnmarshalException: error unmarshalling arguments;
nested exception is:

java.io.InvalidClassException: javax.swing.JComponent; Local class not compatible:
stream classdesc serialVersionUID=-4213396809661916333

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
This is not a WebSphere defect, but a JDK defect and is fixed in JDK defect: SOV, 60239.


Note: The fix below can be applied on AIX, Windows, and Linux
