PQ67072; 3.5.4: Invalid error number reported in plug-in traces
Downloadable files
Abstract
Wrong OS error is being reported in plug-in traces on Solaris™ with iPlanet Web server.
Download Description
PQ67072 resolves the following problem:
USERS AFFECTED:
WebSphere® Application Server V3.5 users with iPlanet Web server on Solaris platform.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The wrong OS error numbers was being recorded in the WebSphere Appliction Server plug-in traces on connect failures and potentially any other failure that would normally generate an OS specific error code.
Due to internal issues with compilation options the open_inet_client_socket message does not report the correct error number. This number is critical to troubleshooting what failure is occurring while attempting to connect to the AppServer.
PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The problem was due to a missing flag in the Solaris builds. That flag has been added and positive feedback has been received on the fix.
NOTES:
This interim fix needs to be applied to remote iPlanet.
This fix (PQ67072) is superseded by new Cumulative Plugin fix PQ76785. You have to apply PQ76785 rather than PQ67072. The fix PQ76785 must be applied on ALL WebSphere and web server machines.
This fix was included in WebSphere Application Server V3.5.7.
