| Problem | After installing the WebSphereŽ Application Server V3.5 plug-in, you are unable to start the iPlanet console. | | | | Solution | Problem Problems can occur after installing an Open Servlet Engine (OSE) plug-in if the appropriate entries are not made. For example, the following error message is displayed upon iPlanet Server startup after you have installed the OSE plug-in:
conf_init: 5: Directives must have at least one parameter while processing load
file obj.conf: hostname:root: /usr/netscape/server4/https-admserv >
Cause This error occurred because during installation of the plug-in, the following file was selectedfor update:
/usr/netscape/server4/https-admserv/config/obj.conf
instead of the correct file:
/usr/netscape/server4/https-hostname/config/obj.conf
Note: The directives needed by the OSE plug-in are entered in the obj.conf for an iPlanet HTTP Server and not for the Administration Server.
Solution Take the following corrective action:- Shut down all iPlanet processes.
- Replace the obj.conf file that was modified by the WebSphere Application Server plug-in installation.
For example: replace /usr/netscape/server4/https-admsrv/config/obj.conf with a default obj.conf file. - Start up the iPlanet Administration Server. Start all HTTP servers to ensure that your iPlanet installation is functional.
- Shutdown all iPlanet processes and reinstall the OSE plug-in. Specify the correct configuration file. For example:
/usr/netscape/server4/httpsyour-server-instance/config/obj.conf
