| Problem | How to uninstall WebSphere on Linux | | | | Solution | WebSphere for Linux distributions (Redhat, Caldera, Turbolinux, Suse) don't create an uninstall script. If you need to uninstall IBM products (WebSphere, IHS), you need to use a package remover just like you would manually do on other Unix systems. The package manager tool is called rpm.Basic rpm syntax:rpm --help (to show you the general flags/arguments you can use).rpm -qa (to query ALL the packages that have been installed on the machine).rpm -e package_name (to uninstall the package). In the WebSphere case, try the following:1) rpm -qa | grep -i ibm (this will show you all the packages that have IBM in the name).2) rpm -e IBMWebAS-STD-doc-en-3.5-1 (this will remove this doc package, for example, which was displayed by the query command). Repeat this step until all the packages are all removed. | | | | | | Product Alias/Synonym | package manager | |
