Adding signer to key management utility (iKeyman) causes X509 error

Problem
When adding a certificate into iKeyman you receive the following error message, "An error occurred while processing X509 certificate".
Cause
Copy and pasting the certificate data and putting it into a text file without a final carriage return.
Solution
When pasting certificate data into a text file so that it can be added into iKeyman, make sure it has a carriage return by pressing the enter key on your keyboard, after the line "- - - - - END CERTIFICATE - - - - -".
