| Problem | After configuring WebSphereŽ Application Server to run an Application Server as non-root, the Application Server fails to start with the following error in the admin server tracefile:
[01.11.15 10:33:01:255 CST] e512b7c0 ActiveServerP W Failed to start the server: "Application Server" com.ibm.ejs.sm.util.process.exception.ProcessOpException: Error creating new process. 013: Permission denied | | Cause | This occurs because the non-root (non-administrator) user that the Application Server is running as does not have the file/directory permissions to write to its own stderr and stdout files. | | Solution | Verify that the directory and files defined for the stderr and stdout file of the Application Server have read and write privileges for the non-root user. | |
