| Error description
Websphere 3.5 documentation for setting up ose remote
communications indicates that the remote webserver machine
only requires the webserver installed and the Websphere plugin
for that webserver installed. However, it appears that in
addition to the plugin, the Websphere Production Application
Server must also be installed. Local fix
Defect PQ42405 created to address this in the install
process in an upcoming release.
.
Workaround: Remote OSE install instructions have been
updated in the online Infocenter section "1.4.2.4 Remote OSE
redirector sample topology" to indicate that the
administrative server and application server need to be
installed on the webserver machine in order for OSE remote to
work. Problem summary

One solution would be to fix the documentation, however, this
is not an acceptable solution. We should be able to install
the files necessary for the plugin without performing a full
Prod App Svr install. Comments
This is scheduled to be addressed in the next release with a
full install.
