Error description
WSAS V3.5.2 -Performance Degradation occurs when Workflow Manage
r is turned on in 3.5.2.
Local fix
change was made by WLM team to the WLMClientImp class to
improve performance. The change was to backout the changes
to the finalize method in release 3.5. The original changes
were made due to the memory leak problem caused by a bug in
JVM 1.1.x, this bug seemed to be fixed in JVM 1.2.x. JVM 1.2.x
is the prereq for WAS 3.5.
Problem summary
Problems with performance degraqdation in 3.5.2 when
using WLM. Changes were made in 3.5 to the finalize
method of WLMClientImp class that are no longer
relevant as JDK 1.2 is no required for WAS 3.5.
These changes were causing some performance issues
and now can be backed out since the jdk is no longer
creating a memory leak in JDK 1.2.
Problem conclusion
Changes were undone to the WLMClientImpl.finalize()
method that wre originally made in 3.5 to address
JVM 1.1.x memory leak. As a result performance while
using WLM is greatly improved.
Temporary fix
