Servlets Hang in Browser and Result in Timeout

Abstract
When a servlet is being accessed by a client, the Websphere admin console message pane shows it loading, but loading is very slow.
Instantiating the servlet would result in no error message appearing, but servelet would load for 3-4 minutes without any result.

In the WebSphere admin console, in the Topology tab, find every web application that uses a third party file in the application classpath (located in the advanced tab when viewing the web application properties), remove it from the application classpath and append it to the com.ibm.ejs.sm.adminserver.classpath in the WebSphere/AppServer/bin/admin.config file. Restart the WebSphere Application server.
