Best Practice:  Debugging WebSphere® Applications

Technote (FAQ)
Problem
Solution
Debugging helps you find logic errors in your code. If your code compiles without errors but does not yield the results you expect, debugging will help locate the place in your code where something went wrong. Without the new debugging tools available today, developers would be forced to debug their applications with the use of System.out.println statements. Today we have several new tools to assist the developer when debugging an application, like the integrated debugging facilities within the VisualAge® for Java™ integrated development environment (IDE), and tracing facilities within WebSphere Application Server.
