| Error description
Customer tries to create or modify a datasource for his Oracle
oci driver to include userid and password. The jdbc driver has
a url prefix of jdbc:oracle and the datasource points to the
driver and has a database name of oci8:user/pass@dbname.
Moving the oci8 to the driver does not help. The datasource
can be successfully create using XMLCONFIG and will work. This
is allowed at 3.5.4 but fails in 3.5.5.
This is related to defect 114564. Local fix
configure datasource with xmlconfig. Problem summary

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WebSphere 3.5.5 code is too restrictive *
* about what characters are allowed in *
* database names. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
Code added to WebSphere 3.5.5 attempts to validate database
names when datasources are created or modified using the Admin
console. This code invalidly rejects some database names that
are correct and were accepted by WebSphere 3.5.4. Problem conclusion
The WebSphere 3.5.5 code is changed to accept all the database
names that were accepted by 3.5.4. Temporary fix
This problem was fixed by defect 114564 in CMVC. I built an
e-fix using this code and supplied it to the customer by
putting it on wasdoc0. Waiting for feedback, so I'm putting
this in FIXTST state. Comments
