Websphere Application Server V3.5.x for Linux on 390
SuSE Linux V2.2.16 kernel
Specifically after installing the Linux image under z/VM
(as a guest OS)

After setting up a new image on S/390, tried to setup IHS
(IBM HTTP Server V1.3.12), and got some conflict with an alread
installed package:
ERROR: "file /etc/rc.d/init.d from install of
IBM_HTTP_Server-1.3.12.2 conflicts with file from package
aaa_dir-2000.12.20-1"
After running the cdrom>install.sh script file, it causes
the above error.

Customer resolved problem:
There is a "README" file under /etc/rc.d/init.d which has a
conflict with IBM_HTTP_Server-1.3.12.2 rpm, so it could not
overwrite the file.
In order to overcome this issue, use the following options for

To work around this problem, install IBM HTTP Server manually
by issuing rpm -ivh --replacefiles *.rpm command. You can do
this when you are in the directory with all the IBM HTTP
