Error description
Environment:
AIX 4.3.3
   WebSphere App Server 3.5.1 Advanced
Description:Environment:AIX 4.3.3WebSphere App Server 3.5.1 Advanced
In the above environment, the user has followed the instructions to run WAS admin server as non-root. The customer has also removed AIX execute privileges for all WebSphere files except for the non-root owner. This works fine. However, when the user allows all AIX users to have read and execute privileges with the /usr/WebSphere/AppServer/logs/* files, certain processes like RIPPLE can't execute. Why should opening AIX privileges (rather than restricting privileges) cause problems? Please forward to the appropriate developers.

After reviewing the information provided by the customer.
I see the customer is having a problem with only process Ripple
I think it is problem with setting permission on unix and not
a problem with websphere.
