Best Practice:  Releasing and invalidating HTTP sessions

Technote (FAQ)
Problem
Solution
Invalidate and release HttpSession objects when you are finished with them. WebSphereŽ allows for a user-configured finite number of HttpSessions. WebSphere can reuse an HttpSession when the application invalidates it, or when WebSphere reclaims it after a user-configured idle timeout period.

The timeout period number can be exceeded; however, invalidating and releasing HttpSessions provides for better performance.
