Fix pack installation fails when trying to upgrade the application client

Problem
While trying to install a WebSphere® Application Server fix pack on a stand-alone application client configuration (WebSphere Application Server's J2EE™ application client package), you receive a "prerequisite failed" error message.
Cause
WebSphere Application Server fix packs and service packs support the WebSphere Application Server, not standalone application client configurations.
Solution
If a change or fix is required by the application client package, a fix pack or cumulative fix must be created specifically for the stand-alone application client configuration.
