WebSphere 3.5.x plugin needs to be enhanced with a configurable
parameter "Connection Backlog" - so that WebSphere administator
will be able to adjust the Connection backlog down to help with
failover when the application server becomes hung up or if
Application Server becomes overloaded. Local fix

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Server listen backlog can not be *
* lowered. *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: *
****************************************************************
By default, the application server's backlog is hardcoded
to be as large as possible for the target platform. One
implication of setting the backlog so high is that it makes
it so a huge number of connections can build up to a
slow/locked-up application server before the connection
attempts fail over to another application server. Allowing
the users to adjust the backlog gives them rough control
over how many connections can be built up to an application
server before the plugins fail over to another server.
In most cases, it is far better to determine the cause of
the application server lockup/slowdown than to depend on
the backlog to trigger failover to the next application
server; this fix was provided to help alleviate problems
while troubleshooting application server slowdowns/lockups. Problem conclusion
Application server backlog now configurable globally, and
per clone. Temporary fixComments
