| Problem | How Virtual hosts and Host Aliases work. | | | | Solution | Notes: - Use the tasks wizard to create a new virtual host and define a new host alias.
- The webserver must be defined to the domain in the DNS server.(e.g. you.com)
- No two virtual hosts can contain the same host alias.
- After creating a new virtual host, any appserver containing the resource must be restarted.
- Once a new virtual host has web applications defined to it, it will show in vhosts.properties file.
Currently there is a problem with the Admin Console. After creating a new virtual host you may select any of the resources under the default host in the topography and it will appear on the right hand pane as though it is now defined to the new Virtual Host. This is not really the case, web resources will still only work by accessing it the usual way. | |
