This is a problem for AIX users (and possibly others) who
tries to set one of the following environment variables
(via one of the client programs (admin console, wscp,
XMLConfig)to pass to an app server:

  PATH
  LIBPATH
  SHLIB_PATH
  LD_LIBRARY_PATH

Other environment variables are NOT affected.

This is due to the AIX compiler/linker mapping literal
literal strings to READ-ONLY memory segments in the
executable. Symptoms will look something like the following
when user tries to start an app server:XMLConfig)to pass to an app server:PATHLIBPATHSHLIB_PATHLD_LIBRARY_PATHOther environment variables are NOT affected. This is due to the AIX compiler/linker mapping literalliteral strings to READ-ONLY memory segments in theexecutable. Symptoms will look something like the following
SIGSEGV 11 (*) segmentation violation si_signo 11 : SIGSEGV: (*) segmentation violation si_errno 0 : Error 0 si_code 51 : SEGV_ACCERR addr: 0x100047F7 stackpointer=3c08fdd8 . javacore32460.1017042993.txt ----------------------------

Problem conclusion
Changed code so that the string literal is copied to a local
buffer before processing the string. Therefore, when markers
are stored, SIGSEGV is not produced.
