| Abstract | IBM understands that it is extremely important that your software operating environment be productive, highly reliable, and available. | | | Content | Over the past years, IBM WebSphereŽ Application Server (Application Server) has met these expectations and requirements extremely well. To a great extent, high reliability and availability have been the result of IBM spending an inordinate amount of time testing and confirming the best operating environments for related products for Application Server. IBM then shared this information with you, our customers, in the form of a Supported Product list, which states the versions of dependent products that IBM believes works well with Application Server to help deliver the promised performance.
However, IBM understands that because of technical or other business reasons, a customer that wants to take advantage of Application Server functionality might not be able to immediately migrate to one of the configurations listed on the Supported Products list. Even though IBM continues to expand the level of testing of current and new configurations, it is not commercially practical to test every combination of products that our customer might want to configure. The following statement (in the SupportStmt.pdf file) clarifies the level of product and customer technical support you can expect if you must use a product configuration that is not defined on the Supported Product List, as well as when you are using a configuration on the Supported Products list. | |
