Abstract
WebSphereŽ Application Server is not stopped, even though the following message is displayed:
"ActiveEJBServ A No Ping Received - Stopping server".

PQ74673 resolves the following problem:

When stopping an instance of WebSphere Application Server using any of the administrative clients, WebSphere Application Server reports that the application is stopped. However, if you look at the process table of the system (for example, "ps -ef"), the process remains active.
