Administering data access applications on Liberty
With Liberty, applications can access data in both relational and NoSQL databases.
Subtopics
- Configuring relational database connectivity in Liberty
You can configure a data source that is associated with different JDBC providers for database connectivity. The JDBC providers supply the driver implementation classes that are required for JDBC connectivity with your specific vendor database. - Configuring MongoDB connectivity in Liberty
Applications that use MongoDB can run on Liberty. For access to a MongoDB instance, the applications use the MongoDB Java™ driver and data sources that you configure for the server. - Configuring CouchDB connectivity in Liberty
Applications that run on Liberty can access NoSQL databases, such as CouchDB. For access to a CouchDB instance in Liberty, a preferred way is to configure a connector via the Cloudant Java client. You can also configure a connector for the NoSQL database via the ektorp client library. - Configuring Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) with the application server
Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) is a "share-everything" database architecture in which two or more Oracle RAC nodes are clustered together and share storage. The RAC nodes are connected together with a high-speed interconnect that enables fast communication between the Oracle nodes. The nodes can exchange various categories of data block ownership information during startup, lock information, exchange transaction information and data, and so on.
