The BI Workbench v4.2.4 - Patch17 requires a previous installation of the full version of BI Workbench 4.2.4 Fix Pack3

New Updates:

• BI Workbench supports IBM WebSphere Business Integration Toolset - System Manager version 4.3

• The user interface items related to Corticon integration can be shown or hidden: A new preference is added to the Preferences dialog box to show/hide the following items:

  • The Decision Service Task toolbar button.
  • The Export Vocabulary menu item.
  • The Vocabulary_Structure data structure appearing in BI Workbench tree structure dialog boxes, such as the Data Structures Tree dialog box, the Input Structure & Output Structure combo boxes in the Task Object dialog box, the Input Container combo box in the Task Object dialog box, and any combo box that lists data fields or data structures.
     
• Tasks can associated with an unqualified UPES (i.e without having to specify the System and System Group names) in the following manner:
  • In the Task Object dialog box: The user selects "Unqualified" from the System drop-down list.
  • When exporting FDL file: Only the Server name will be exported.

  • When importing FDL file: In case an unqualified UPES is used by a task, the UPES name is stored as "Unqualified," and is added to the system.

• Any missing business measures metrics are checked during the business measure validation. A new type of error (Business Measure without metric) is added to the Business Measures Validation report.

• The User name of an employee can include a dash "-" character

• A user-defined "FMCINTERNALNOOP" application (NOOP program) is exported in the FDL file.

• The BI Workbench integrates with Corticon Studio V2.8

• The FDL file can be exported to WebSphere MQ Workflow 3.5

• The Organization file name length can be up to 80 bytes.

• The following must be considered while defining the MQ Workflow Name for a Task object:

• BI Workbench - UML Modeler supports exporting UML Models to all Rational® XDE™ 2003 builds.

• The BI Workbench supports now the integration with the IBM WBI Toolset 4.2.1.1 Fix Pack, IBM WBI Toolset 4.2.2, and IBM WBI Toolset 4.2.2.1 Fix Pack.

• The Currencies data cannot be imported now using the Import Data feature.

• A specific FDL file can be now exported for z/OS™ and OS/390® platforms to comply with the requirements of these platforms. This can be done by selecting a new check box named FDL for the mainframe OS/390 in the Export FDL Options dialog box. This check box appears only when you select to export the FDL file for MQ Workflow v3.3.2 SP3 or WebSphere MQ Workflow v3.4 from the Workflow Engine dialog box.

• The Node name can be up to 35 bytes, but it will be truncated to 32 bytes in the exported FDL file.

• The Entry Point text box, in the Applications dialog box, is validated to hold a maximum of 32 bytes.

• The decimal precision for currencies exchange rate can be up to seven decimal places.

• The Working Directory for an application is not mandatory any more. However, it must be defined, if the organization FDL file is planned to be imported to IBM MQ Workflow Buildtime.

• The Service text box in the Applications dialog box must be defined, in order to allow definition of other text boxes in this tab.

• The Task name can be up to 235 bytes.

• The Process name can be up to 235 bytes.

• The External Process name (in the E-Commerce editing mode) can be up to 235 bytes.

• When using BI Workbench on a system locale that is not supported, then the organization will be opened as read only.

• The exported Simulation results can include now up to 32,000 jobs instead 16,300 jobs by using a new enhanced exporting tool.

• The Time Between Jobs option in the Simulation Setup dialog box is now validated so that it does not exceed one year.

• The exported FDL files Version 3.4 have been updated to prevent including non-supported syntax that belongs to earlier versions. This update fixes the problem related to PMR 94171,004,000
• When importing a data structure from UML Modeler, any Class attribute that has no defined data type will be imported into BI Workbench as a data field of type Character.

Fixed bugs:

• APAR JR21712: Fixed the bug that caused the process validation not to detect invalid connectors. After an invalid connector is deleted by the user, the process must be validated again for remaining errors.
• APAR JR21421: Fixed the bug that caused BI Workbench to crash during the creation of the Procedure report, when the included tasks notes contain huge number of lines.
• APAR JR20870: In the Process Model Validation, a new validation is added to check on invalid Phis that may exist in the process diagram.
• APAR JR18626: All string variables are now initialized prior to the export of data to MS Excel.
• APAR JR18653: Fixed the bug that occurred on Process expansion; when a search for the inputs and outputs for every sub-process (recursively) takes place to identify the proper connections between objects in the main (High Level) process, and those in the child process.  In some specific cases these calculations went wrong, leading to an application crash.
• APAR JR18764: Fixed the bug that caused removing all processes Notes from a process, when this process has been created by using the Save Process As command, and the original Process has been deleted, and no further save occurred prior to the close of BI Workbench.
• APAR JR18765: Fixed the bug that caused the miss of Data Fields names for the predefined data fields and data structures (to which initial values are set), when they are exported in the FDL file.
• APAR JR18766: Fixed the bug that caused the failure of importing the IBM WebSphere Business Integration (BI) Monitor™ Data from a .wfd file, if the Workbench Process Name is different from the MQ Workflow Process Name.
• APAR JR18767: Fixed the bug that caused exporting the Audit_Filter events selected for a High Level process, as the events assigned to the sub-processes too. Each processes' Audit_Filter events are exported appropriately now.
• APAR JR18820: Fixed the bug that causes error message requesting the Queue and Queue Manager Names when selecting PESSERVER (Program Execution Server) as an execution agent in the General Tab of the Task Object dialog box.
• APAR JR18925: Fixed the error that caused bpa.exe to give error message while trying to generate the Process Summary report.
• APAR JR18932: Fixed the bug that causes the Printed Process Diagram Layout (Portrait / Landscape) different from the selected layout in Print setup.
• APAR JR18968: Fixed the bug that causes the exported FDL expressions missing the enclosed braces, when these expressions are concatenated from consecutive decisions.
• APAR JR19029: Adding an extra option during export FDL, for OS/390 Syntax of Arrays.
• APAR JR19170: Fixed the bug that generates smaller number of jobs in simulation if a follow decision is used in a Sub-Process and the time between jobs is greater than the process time. In addition, updated the documentation help topic entitled "Defining a Binary Decision Object" regarding the selection of the Follow check box in a Decision object dialog box.
• APAR JR19171: Fixed the bug that causes incorrect Process Cycle time if the start date and time of any task in this process falls during the time between shifts based on the used Calendar.
• APAR JR19173: Fixed the bug that causes a crash in BI Workbench when opening a Process that has been checked out from IBM WebSphere Business Integration (BI) Workbench Server^TM .
• APAR JR19247: Fixed the bug that causes BI Workbench on Windows NT to generate error upon validating the year value in the Process Info dialog box, in case the input date format limits the presentation of the year value to two digits only. Furthermore, fixed bug in BI Workbench on Windows NT that causes the month and year not to appear on the yellow caption in the Calendar dialog box.
• APAR JR19309: The Queue Manager Name for a User Program Execution Server (UPES) is not mandatory any more, except when this UPES is used by a WBI Collaboration Task.
• APAR JR19310: Fixed the bug that caused the User Program Execution Server (UPES) dialog box not to accept the following characters in the Queue Name and Queue Manager Name text boxes: _ . / %
• APAR JR19311: Fixed the bug that caused the value of Total Duration in the simulation Activities table to be less than the Working Duration for the same task.
• APAR JR19312: The MQ Audit Events (21081 and 21082) and the DB Audit Events (21081 and 21082) are now included only in FDL files exported to MQWF 3.3.2 or higher. The MQ Audit Event (21028) and the DB Audit Event (21028) is not included in FDL files exported to MQWF 3.3.2 or higher.
• APAR JR19403: Fixed the bug that causes the MQ validation not to work with the _State() function, when the function is followed by any string in a double quote.

• APAR JR19404 The user can select the notes type (Basic Description or MQ Description) to be exported/imported with XML files.

• APAR JR19405: Fixed the bug that causes the Workbench to crash because the export of FDL file is enabled, while many sub-processes are being expanded.
• APAR JR19406: Fixed the bug that causes the simulation of a large process not to complete successfully when the number of simulation jobs is more than 5000 jobs and the time between jobs is less than 10 seconds.
• APAR JR19407: Fixed the bug that causes the input and output structures in an application assigned to a Task to be reversed upon export to FDL file.
• APAR JR19408: Fixed the bug related to the Global Data Container in the Process Info dialog box. The Global Data Container now appears in the exported FDL file when it is selected, and does not appear in the FDL file when it is not selected.
• APAR JR19466: Fixed the bug that causes an error message to appear when searching for an object in a process containing more that 256 sub-processes, using the Search feature from the Administrative Functions.
• APAR JR19470: The dot character '.' is not accepted now in the organization name or in the path in which the organization file will be saved.
• APAR JR19550 Fixed the bug that causes simulation to hang when a task uses a calendar that has no break between shifts.
• APAR JR19551 Fixed the bug that limited the Process Documentation notes to 254 characters in an exported FDL.
• APAR JR19556 Fixed the bug that causes BI Workbench to crash when copying the entire process of the Fmccred sample organization, and attempting to paste it in a new process diagram by using the Paste Special feature.
• APAR JR19593 Fixed the bug that causes From text box in the Calendar dialog box to give time format error when the time is set to 00:00:00 AM.
• APAR JR19649 Fixed the BI Workbench crash and corrected the message that appears when the user changes the default FDL file (CS2WFaa.FDL) to read-only, and then tries to export the file.
• APAR JR19674 Fixed the bug that displays invalid date format when the preferences date format is yy/mm/dd.
• APAR JR19676 Fixed the bug that causes the Data Field Mapping table displays a truncated part of the Source and target qualified data field name.

• APAR JR19756 Fixed the bug that causes the Analysis reports to display # values in some cells when working on a user locale that uses a decimal sign for numbers (for example, comma) that is different from the default decimal sign used by the current system locale.

• APAR JR19757 Fixed the bug that returns back the text deleted from the Annotation object.
• APAR JR19758 Fixed the hang that occurs in BI Workbench while opening recursive processes.
• APAR JR19759 Adjusted the drop-down lists sizes to match the size of displayed text.
• APAR JR19786 Fixed the bug that causes trimming the end of function names at the Function Names section in Functions sheet of the Comparison report.
• APAR JR19803 Fixed the bug that causes a multiple-state phi to be imported as a single state phi, when being imported using the Import Processes feature.
• APAR JR19813 Fixed the bug that causes MQ Validation reports to display false error against expression Activity:containerField during the export of FDL file.
• APAR JR19815 Fixed the bug that requires Queue Manager Name if you define an Audit Queue in System Group dialog box.
• APAR JR19862 Fixed the bug that occurs during import of large Rational® mdl models, by postponing opening the diagram till the import is completed, in order to avoid exhausting the windows resources.
• APAR JR19886 Fixed the bug that causes Simulation results for Jobs not to be properly displayed, in Windows XP with Service Pack 1, when the selected display mode is Windows XP Style.
• APAR JR19898 Fixed the bug that caused the Program Activity not to be created for 'fmcinternalnoop' activity.
• APAR JR19947 Fixed the bug that caused multiple lines of Task notes to appear as a single line in the Procedure Steps table in the Procedure report.
• APAR JR19963    1- Fixed the bug that caused failure of exporting an organization FDL file when an expression includes multiple functions, such as the UPPER and SUBSTR functions. 2- Fixed the bug that caused the description and Exit condition for a subprocess not to be exported in FDL file.
• APAR JR19990 Fixed the bug that caused the vertical scroll bar not to appear in the Binary or Multiple Decision object dialog box.

• APAR JR19992 Fixed the bug that caused BI Workbench fail to open when launched from the System Manager.

• APAR JR19993 Fixed the following: 1- The bug that caused huge cycle time value to appear in the PC Times sheet of the Process Summary report. 2- The bug that caused the process time to be calculated based on the Standard Calendar while another calendar is assigned to the organization.

• APAR JR20062 Fixed the bug that caused the Business Measures dialog box not to list locations whose names are segments of other existing locations.

• APAR JR20063    1- Fixed the bug that caused the BI Workbench not to import the entire CSV file, if the any of the file data includes special characters, such as è, ò, é, ë.  2- Fixed the bug that caused BI Workbench to crash while importing Employees file to an organization that contains huge number of roles.

• APAR JR20104 Fixed the bug that caused the BI Workbench 4.2.4 Fix Pack1 HotFix not to be installed on Windows 98.

• APAR JR20105 Fixed the bug that caused the Underscore character not to be accepted in the System Group name.

• APAR JR20116 Fixed the bug that prevented using dots in the Number text box in the Functions dialog box and the Business Rules dialog box.

• APAR JR20158: Fixed the bug that caused BI Workbench to crash while working on the Data Fields Metrics dialog box in an organization that contains multiple copies of data structures.

• APAR JR20149: Fixed the bug that caused the order of items in the Data Structures Tree to be lost, when using the Import Processes feature.

• APAR JR20135: Fixed the bug that caused existence of duplicate roles upon repeating the import of employees file.

• APAR JR20134: Fixed the bug that caused BI Workbench not to accept negative values for the Initial value field in the Data tab of the Task object dialog box.

• APAR JR20186 Fixed the bug that caused changing the initial values of the global container, the input container, or the output container in the Task object dialog box, when the corresponding initial values in the Process Info dialog box were changed.

• APAR JR20322 Fixed the bug that caused the Documentation Reports of LOV process (displayed in the LOV editing mode) to display unsorted tables with distorted headers. Also, fixed the bug that caused the Information Flow report to show improper data in the tables.

• APAR JR20321 Fixed the bug that caused the creation of, and the inability to delete, duplicate records for previously deleted metrics or expressions used in business measures.

• APAR JR20376 Fixed the bug that caused BI Workbench to crash on Windows XP SP2.

• APAR JR20385 Fixed the bug that caused the incompletion of some simulation jobs due to the definition of a repetition value for one or more sub-processes.

• APAR JR20418 Fixed the bug that caused automatic export of the 'Vocabulary_Structure' data structure, and the 'INTERNALCORTICONAPPLICATION' application in the FDL file, regardless they are being used or not. Those items are now exported in the FDL file, only if they are used by one or more of the diagram objects.

• APAR JR20473 Fixed the bug that caused the UPES version 3.5 not to be shown in the the Servers dialog Box, and caused the System version 3.5 not to be exported in FDL file.

• APAR JR20502 Fixed the bug the caused the exported FDL to contain expressions numbers that are formatted according to the locale settings. Any expression numbers are now exported unformatted, regardless of the locale settings.

• APAR JR20574 Fixed the bug that caused the loss of business measure data after updating a business measure that uses a predefined metric.

• APAR JR20734 The process Valid From time is exported in FDL after being converted to its UTC TimeZone equivalent, for compatibility with MQ Workflow.

• APAR JR20760 Fixed the bug that caused the exported BI Monitor XML file not to include the multiple states of an activity specified in the business measure Locations dialog box.

• APAR JR20959 Fixed the bug that caused the duplication of "MESSAGE_LAYER_REFRESH_INTERVAL" attribute in the Operation section of the Domain, System Group, or System in the exported FDL file.

• PMR 54018,180,000 Fixed the error that occurs when exporting the FDL file, in case no employee password exists. A default password "password" is included in the exported FDL file.

• PMR 60368,379,000 Explicitly stated in the documentation that the simulation is based on the working duration of the process tasks.

• PMR 21137,180,000 Fixed the bug that caused the MQWorkflow validation report to issue a warning of duplication when a choice has the same name of a task.

• PMR 55747,379,000: Modified the Export FDL Options dialog box to allow selecting multiple sub-processes to be exported in an FDL file. A List box is added to enable the user to select multiple sub-processes for export (instead of having to select all sub-processes, which might include sub-processes not planned to be exported).

• PMR 81642,999,000 Added to the documentation definitions of R-Blocked Duration, in both the Jobs and Activity simulation tables.
