Fix (APAR): JR26331 Status: Fix Release: 6.0.1 Operating System: Linux Supersedes Fixes: CMVC Defect: xxxxxx Byte size of APAR: 37491 Date: 2007-05-11 Abstract: If a selector does not originally have a start or end date associated with it, attempts to set the dates from admin console will cause a NullPointerException being thrown Description/symptom of problem: JR26331 resolves the following problem: ERROR DESCRIPTION: While using a selector with no start Date and End Date in applications that are deployed on WebSphere Process server through admin console or jacl script, NullPointerException gets generated. This behavior happens when there is no date specified for the selector in the first place. occurs in 601 & 602 LOCAL FIX: none PROBLEM SUMMARY USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Process Server 6.0.2.x users who administor selectors through admin console. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If a selector does not originally have a start or end date associated with it, attempts to set the dates from admin console will cause a NullPointerException being thrown RECOMMENDATION: None The code was not checking for the selector's date to be null. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: A check was added for the selectors with empty date. And the issue got resolved after applying the fix. Directions to apply fix: Before applying the iFix ensure that WebSphere Process Server 6.0.1 is installed on the system. Also download and follow Update Installer installation instructions. DO NOT REMOVE A FIX UNLESS ALL FIXES APPLIED AFTER IT HAVE FIRST BEEN REMOVED. YOU MAY REAPPLY ANY REMOVED FIX.
