Fix (APAR): JR25444 Status: Fix Release: 6.0.1.2,6.0.1.1 Operating System: AIX,HP-UX,Linux,Solaris,Windows,z/OS Supersedes Fixes: CMVC Defect: xxxxxx Byte size of APAR: 42344 Date: 2007-03-05 Abstract: In a mixed cell environment where a node is at V6.0.1.x and the Deployment Manager is at V6.0.2, errors may occur when using Relationship Manager. Description/symptom of problem: JR25444 resolves the following problem: ERROR DESCRIPTION: In the mixed cell environment if user upgraded one node to 602, and one stayed as 601, then RelManager doesn't work because we changed the RelationshipQuery model in 6012 (and 602). So to resolve the issue the ifix for this APAR needs to be installed on top of 601 nodes. LOCAL FIX: NA PROBLEM SUMMARY USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Process Server 6.0.1.x Users PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In a mixed cell environment where a node is at V6.0.1.x and the Deployment Manager is at V6.0.2, errors may occur when using Relationship Manager. RECOMMENDATION: None The RelationshipQuery model changed between versions v6.0.1.2 and v6.0.2, and as a result, problems can occur in the RelationShip Service after the Deployment Manager has been upgraded to V6.0.2 while a node stays at v6.0.1.x. For example, the SystemOut.log may show the following message after a RelationShip query operation: CWMAM0009W: There was a null response from the Relationship Services MBean. Please execute another query, or query using a different MBean. Further queries may result in null pointer exceptions. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: Install the ifix on top of 601 nodes to solve the problem. Directions to apply fix: Before applying the iFix ensure that WebSphere Process Server 6.0.1 is installed on the system. Also download and follow Update Installer installation instructions. The Update Installer can be downloaded from the following link: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg21205991 1) Copy the pak file to the directory maintenance in the UpdateInstaller directory 2) Shutdown WebSphere Process Server. It is important that you perform a controlled and complete shutdown of the server to ensure that all transactions have completed, before installing the fix. 3) Run the UpdateInstaller and follow the prompts. 4) Restart WebSphere Directions to remove fix: NOTE: FIXES MUST BE REMOVED IN THE REVERSE ORDER IN WHICH THEY WERE APPLIED. DO NOT REMOVE A FIX UNLESS ALL FIXES APPLIED AFTER IT HAVE FIRST BEEN REMOVED. YOU MAY REAPPLY ANY REMOVED FIX. Example: If your system has fix1, fix2, and fix3 applied in that order and fix2 is to be removed, fix3 must be removed first, then fix2 may be removed 1) Shutdown WebSphere.
