The Adapter Fix Pack Installer allows the user to install the fix packs released for a number of Adapters. The following summarizes the adapter fix packs available:

UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS 

For Windows and Linux:

Before applying this patch, backup the following files:

  1. Before applying the patch, please backup the following directories and files under %CROSSWORLDS% :
    connector\
    ODA\
    bin\Data\App\
    repository\TCPIP\sample\
    DataHandlers\
    lib\WBIA.jar
    lib\jmsmgr.jar
    messages\WBIAdapterRuntime.txt
    wbiart\wbiart.jar

To perform an upgrade, please follow instructions in the correct order as follows:

  1. Ensure that the adapter you want to upgrade using the Adapter Fix Pack Installer is already installed in the system.
  2. Ensure that none of the adapters are running (as a process or NT Service).
  3. On Windows platform, unzip the WBI_Server_Express_4403_Adapter_Fixpack_Windows.zip file into a temporary directory and then run the adapter_fixpack_v4403_win32.exe file. You must have Administrative privileges to install the fixpack. Next, choose the adapters that you wish to apply the fix pack to and the Adapter Fix Pack Installer will perform the install.
  4. On Linux platform, first ensure that the current user is the one who installed the product before. Second, untar the WBI_Server_Express_4403_Adapter_Fixpack_Linux.tar file into a temporary directory, go to that directory and execute the adapter_fixpack_v4403_linux.bin file. Next, choose the adapters that you wish to apply the fix pack to and the Adapter Fix Pack Installer will perform the install.

 UNINSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

For Windows and Linux:

In UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS, you are recommended to backup certain files and directories for the purpose of uninstalling the patch.
If you have done the backup process, make sure the current user is the user who has installed the fix pack. Uninstall the fix pack by launching the uninstaller via the command line as follows:
1. At the console window, go to the <install location>\_uninst4403AdapterFixPack directory.
2. Type the following command at the prompt: java -cp uninstall.jar run

3. Copy the backed up files back to the <install location>

ADDITIONAL DISCUSSIONS

  1. The WebSphere Business Integration Server Express 4.4.0.3 Adapter Fix Pack Installer will only install fix packs for adapters that have been installed on the current system (only adapters that have been installed will show up in the Adapter Fix Pack Installer).
  2. In order to use the WebSphere Business Integration Server Express 4.4.0.3 Adapter Fix Pack Installer to install the fix packs, either the WebSphere Business Inegration Server Express (Plus) 4.4.0.0/4.4.0.2 or the Adapter Capacity Pack must be installed.
  3. The patch installer is platform specific (Windows or Linux).
  4. If the WebSphere Business Integration Server Express 4.4.0.3 Adapter Fix Pack is applied, it is recommended that the WebSphere Business Integration Server Express 4.4.0.3 Fix Pack be applied as well.
