The information in this readme file should be read by users who plan to upgrade their present version of IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON XE for Messaging with the latest fix pack.
This is the first interim fix pack for IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON XE for Messaging Version 6.0. It contains 17 fixes and enhancements for WebSphere MQ Configuration.
In certain situations where two newly created queues with identical names are saved, no error message is displayed, although changes are not actually saved.
When an object is selected in the defined view, a detailed information panel is displayed in the top right of the main window. This panel is not automatically refreshed after the user saves changes made to the object.
After deleting an object from the defined view, if a second copy of the object is created from the same prototype in the same location, it functions incorrectly.
If all Configured System Groups in the defined view are deleted, a workspace error occurs.
When importing objects in XML format, if variables are assigned values using a variable argument (for example, A = B) instead of being assigned a numerical value directly (for example, A = 10), values are lost.
Discovery operations fail to complete when a queue manager object has a namelist.
Note: This problem has been fixed for small namelists, but may still occur if a namelist is very large.
Hub TEMS stops responding for an unacceptably long period of time after discovering a queue manager with a large number of queues.
When copying objects with names containing symbolic variables, incorrect suffixes are apended to the object names.
Display resources window is not refreshed when resources are updated.
When changes are made to a resource's attibutes, the information in the resources window is not updated automatically.
1. Add Application Support for Power Linux platform added to TEP, TEB, TEPS and TEMS.
2. When the user types a queue name into a combo box, the name being entered is matched to the closest queue name in the list. This name will then be highlighted in a drop-down list containing a subsection of list entries below the text entry area.
3. The speed with which the queue configuration dialog is displayed has been greatly enhanced.
4. Added F5 shortcut to refresh the resources window.
5. Update actual from defined operation can be performed on multiple objects from the same resource group simultaneously.
6. Replicate operation can be performed on multiple objects from the same resource group simultaneously.
7. Validate operation can be performed on multiple objects from the same resource group simultaneously.

OS/400: IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.1 (fix pack 1 or above);
All other platforms: IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.1 (fix pack 3 or above);
For Unix/Linux platforms, Bash shell is needed during the installation.
1. Stop the TEMS, TEPS, TEP and WebSphere MQ Configuration agents if running.
2. Copy the patch file to a temporary directory, for example $HOME/MCIF0001.
3. Run the following command to unpack the patch file:
uncompress -c [driver] | tar xvf -
Or gunzip -c [driver] | tar xvf -
where [driver] is fully qualified path name of the patch file for the target platform (for example, aix51d6364.tar.Z).
4. Copy file patch_install to the depot folder (MCIF0001) and make sure file patch_install have execution permission.
5. Patch installer need to bash shell installed on /bin/bash folder on the system, if user did not install bash on the system and do not want to install it, user could create a soft link by issuing:
ln -s /bin/sh /bin/bash (This step need root priviledge. If user is on Solaris system, the Bourne Shell might not work. Recommend Solaris user must use bash to execute the installer program)
6. Issue below command line from depot directory to start the installation:
./patch_install [$ITM_HOME]
$ITM_HOME is Tivoli Monitoring installation directory (by default this is located in /opt/IBM/ITM/).
7. User could follow the prompted messages to finish the installation. After install scripts exit, a new folder "backup" which contains all the original files in user's environment will be created and an uninstall script (patch_uninstall) will be generated too.
Please Note: User should not run the install program again unless user already made a copy of the backup folder and the generated uninstall script. Otherwise user will lose the original files.
8. In user's environment, the architecture codes might be different from the patch provided. For example, "ls3263" might become "ls3243". User does not need to change the folder names in the depot directory, the install script will handle those mappings.
9. Install scripts will report the not found files which are not existing in user's environment.
10. User might Start the TEMS, TEPS, TEP and WebSphere MQ Configuration agents.
1. Execute the GO OMAMC command at the OS/400 command line.
2. Select option 3 to stop the WebSphere MQ Configuration agent.
3. Enter the following command to verify that OMAMC has stopped:
WRKACTJOB SBS(KMCLIB)
Wait for the following message to be displayed under active jobs:
(No active jobs to display)
4. Extract mcoad6364.savf from the OS/400 patch file (mcoad6364.savf.zip) on a Windows or UNIX system.
5. Log onto the target AS/400 system and create a save file called MCOAD6364.
6. On the Windows or UNIX system, use binary mode FTP to transfer mcoad6364.savf to the newly created save file on the
AS/400 system.
7. Create library MC6149F52P on the AS/400 system and restore the object with the following command:
RSTOBJ OBJ(*ALL) SAVLIB(MC6149F52P) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(KMC600_TMP/MCOAD6364)
This procedure restores 2 files to the MC6149F52P library:
KMC_AGENT *PGM CPPLE 28065792
KMCCMQU1 *PGM CPPLE 28065792
8. Backup the original versions of the two restored files so that the fix pack can be removed if any problems are encountered.
9. Replace the original versions of the files with the versions in the MC6149F52P library.
10.Enter the GO OMAMC command and select option 2 to restart the WebSphere MQ Configuration agent.
Installation is now complete.
1. Stop the TEMS, TEPS, TEP and WebSphere MQ Configuration agents if running.
2. Make a depot directory for example c:\patch\MCIF0001, copy file wv7i386d6364.zip to this folder. On user's Windows file explorer, double click the zip file icon to extract files into the same folder.
3. Copy the install batch file patch_install.bat into the folder and run it in a cmd window or from a file explorer.
4. Follow the prompted messages to complete the install. When the install batch exits, a "backup" folder and an uninstall batch file are also generated. The original files in user's environment are in the "backup" folder.
5. User should not run the install program again unless user already made a copy of the backup folder and the generated uninstall batch file. Otherwise user will lose the original files.
6. Start the TEMS, TEPS, TEP and WebSphere MQ Configuration agents.
To uninstall the fix pack on Windows or Unix/Linux, please run the generated uninstall script. The script will restore the backup files into user's environment.
On OS/400, please replace the installed files with the back up files manually.
