The OSA Channels workspace provides OSA express channels usage information, showing utilization percentages by channel identifier.
Summary information is provided in the OSA Express Channels Summary Table located at the bottom of the workspace. The bar charts in this workspace are:
Each bar chart contains information about the following two values:
OSA cards provide channel connectivity between IBM mainframes and attached networks. Configuration and performance data for OSA cards is then collected by an IBM SNMP OSA subagent and stored in the IBM MIB where it is available to network management applications. If multiple OSA cards are used, there are multiple sets of the two OSA channel utilization values on the bar charts in the OSA Channels Workspace.
From the bar charts or links by the rows in the table, you can link to the OSA Ports workspace and the OSA Express LPARs workspace. You do so by right-clicking anywhere on a bar chart and clicking Link To.
The 1 Minute Resource Utilization bar chart provides the average, over a 1 minute interval, of the percentage of time that resources were utilized to transfer data.

The 5 Minute Resource Utilization bar chart provides the average, over a 5 minute interval, of the percentage of time that resources were utilized to transfer data.

The 1 Hour Resource Utilization bar chart provides the average, over a 1 hour interval, of the percentage of time that resources were used to transfer data.

The OSA Express Channels Summary table contains extensive channel configuration data, such as device name, channel type, whether the device is online or off line, and processor utilization. Each row in this table links to the OSA Ports workspace and the OSA Express LPARs workspace. Right-click a row in this table to access those links. The default is the OSA Ports workspace.
