The Detected Failure attribute indicates the monitoring
component that detected a failure when the Workload Status
attribute value is UNSATISFACTORY. The following values are valid:
- BOTH - This value indicates that both the Multi-site Workload
Lifeline product and the replication server associated with the
workload reported an unsatisfactory workload status.
- NONE - This value indicates that neither the Multi-site Workload
Lifeline product nor the replication server associated with the
workload are reporting an unsatisfactory workload status. The
overall workload status is satisfactory.
- REPLICATION - This value indicates that the replication
server associated with the workload reported an unsatisfactory
workload status.
- ROUTING - This value indicates that the Multi-site Workload
Lifeline product reported an unsatisfactory workload status.
If the workload status as reported by the Multi-site
Workload Lifeline product is unsatisfactory, verify
the following:
- Determine the state of the workload as reported by the Multi-site
Workload Lifeline product. The Workload Routing
State attribute in
the Workload Sites workspace indicates the routing state of the
workload. If the state is quiesced, ensure that a
MODIFY advisor_proc,ACTivate,WORKload=workloadname,Site=sitename
command has been issued to allow the workload to be active
to the specified site.
- Determine if the server applications that make up the workload
are unresponsive or not available on the site where the workload
is currently active. Ensure that the server applications are
successfully running on the active site.
If the workload status as reported by the replication server
is unsatisfactory, verify the following:
- Determine the state of the capture workload as reported by the replication server.
The Capture Workload State attribute indicates the workload status
of the replication server.
This attribute is displayed in the Replications Servers Summary
table view of either the Replication Servers or
Filtered Replication Servers workspace.
- For a workload type of IMS, when the value of the Capture
Workload State attribute is either
"REPLICATE CONTINUOUS" or "STARTING",
the status is considered to be satisfactory. Any other value
indicates an unsatisfactory status.
- For a workload type of DB2, when the value of the Capture
Workload State attribute is "REPLICATE CONTINUOUS", the status
is considered to be satisfactory. Any other value indicates an
unsatisfactory status.
